Phoenix Motorcycle Training - Codford Avis 

Had my second level 3 Salisbury Plain Trail Riding day with SP Stig onboard a Fantic 250. 77 miles of mostly off-road on the stunning Salisbury Plain. The Fantic was a great bike - good level of power and handled the worst of the Plain with ease. Expect a day on your legs though - the seat isn't the comfiest.

SP Stig has an amazing knowledge of trails meaning that you can just focus on enjoying the riding and the scenery.

All the gear you need is provided by Phoenix and it's all good quality gear. They even clean the gear and bike afterwards!

Off-road training, in my view, should be compulsory for all motorcyclists. You learn so many skills which are transferrable to the road/track. You can even learn how to fall off with confidence :-)

I'm looking forward to helping with tail end duties from March 2023. I can't wait.

Really good virtually 1-2-1 training tailored to my individual skill level rather than "the session plan says this so your getting it whether you need it or not"! Fantastic day out motorcycling, what's not to like! I will sign up for the next levels.

Excellent organisation, fun but reassuring guidance given on high quality equipment (all provided!).
Would certainly recommend!

I did a level 2 trail riding day with Justin. It was excellent fun and Justin's knowledge of the trails was fantastic. Lots of different trails and some deep puddles to ride through which was an experience.

Justin was a good teacher giving me guidance on how to ride different terrain and I even learned how to fix a bike which was hyrdolocked (we stumbled across another group, where one of their bikes decided to go for a swim).

Lunch was good and the 5 mins breaks through the day were a welcome breather.

Definitely tired and satisfied by the end of the day.

Clothing was good. (textile adventure suits with good levels of protection in them and sturdy boots)

Bikes were Fantics and were mechanically sound, no issues with them all day and they coped with the terrain, without incident.

I'll definitely be back!

I had a great day out on Salisbury Plain with the 'Salisbury Plain Stig' aka Justin from Phoenix Motorcycle Training Ltd. This was my first ever off road experience let alone on an off road bike. Justin welcomed uswitch a top rate brew and then gave us guidance on riding the Fantic 250 bikes. Then came a bit of on road til we started off road out on Salisbury plain. Justin started off on easy gravel then into ruts and dirt/sand/chalk and water.....!
All told I had a blast and totally recommend the Salisbury plain experience with Phoenix Motorcycle Training Ltd

Re Codford Trial Riding. Can't praise these guys enough, Justin for his knowledge of the area and both Sam and Justin for the riding techniques required. They were very patient and chose a suitable course for my level.
All the the equipment, Bike, helmet, boots, protective jacket & trousers, even gloves were provided. Coupled with the tuition led to a thoroughly enjoyable safe day. Thank you so much

Thank you Justin at Codford for an awesome Level 1 Trail Riding experience. James and I enjoyed every minute and though I arrived apprehensive and questioning whether I could even do it, you made me feel safe and comfortable within the first 10 minutes. A brilliant course in brilliant safe hands, and though I am 59, relatively new to riding and a fair weather rider, and James is 69 and road experienced, Justin measured our needs just right! We'll be back for sure!

Had an amazing day at Codford on Wednesday! Felt safe and also suitably challenged at all times. The guys were brilliant and made sure the experience was one to remember. Will definitely be back for level 2 and more. 10/10 and would recommend to anybody who wants some fun off road :)

Best fun i have ever had on two wheels. The staff at the site where extremely professional from start to finish. Add to the fact the scale of the area and obstacles you get to encounter down in Salisbury it certainly makes for a day you wont forget. Would highly recommend the Phoenix trials experience for anyone wanting to get into off road riding.

A truly enjoyable day and a great experience. Justin and Neil were friendly and fun. Cant wait to book up again. Best 60th birthday present ever! THANKS GUYS

Great experience on the trail riding day at the Salisbury Plains. Thank you Justin and Neal. I had so much fun and i will definitely do this again.

First time offroad on a trail bike on the Salisbury plains, I smiled all the way back home that evening. Justin was great! Being my first time, was not expecting to be this challenging and fun,but the instructors really know the trails and know where to go to keep you smiling regardless of what you want, light gravel roads, forests or rocky bumpy hills. Plenty of advice on the way. I had my own regular riding gear, but ended up using theirs as it was more suited for the 37celsius outside. Great experience all in all!

Never done off road riding before, so I decided to take level 1 on trail riding. I got say... it was an amazing experience. The instructors are really helpful and approachable.
Definitely I'm going to return for level 2.

Excellent day and worth he cost. Weather was extremely hot so extra water required, good range of trails and gnarly bits, over all and excellent day out on the plains. My only observation would be more feedback to be provided.

Amazing day at codford trials.

We arrived at codford trials around 8am to be met by Adam and Justin the trials riding instructors. They had all the bikes and and equipment ready for us, once we said our hello’s we jumped straight into a bike, equipment and trials briefing which was very good.

Once kitted up and ready to go we jumped on the bikes and had a ride around a paddock/field which had been made for some pre trials rider training. Adam and Justin highlighted some bad habits of ours very quickly and showed us some better techniques which we adopted straight away.
When the instructors were happy with us we went out to start the trials riding.

After a little road ride getting use to the bikes which are brand new fantic 250s very light but powerful we arrived at the first lot of lanes.
We rode the lanes for for a good 2-3 hours stopping occasionally and getting a brief from the instructors on what to expect on the next lanes and what to watch out for. Around midday we stopped at a farm for some lunch and a break.

We then continued for a another 3 hours riding harder more technical lanes and trials, we stopped for re-fuelling and drinks around 1.5 hours in. The day was brilliant and all 4 of us have rebooked for level 2 in 8 weeks.

Such an amazing day spent riding trail bikes on Salisbury Plain with Phoenix Motorcycle Training. Justin and Adam, the Phoenix off-road instructors, demo'd and taught the group a series of off-road riding skills and then allowed us to practice on an off-road circuit adjacent to the Phoenix training school at Codford. Once we had practiced and reached a good level of confidence riding the provided Fantic 250cc bikes we were very quickly heading out onto the plains riding over 80 miles in a day across challenging terrain. All motorcycle gear was provided plus lunch too at a local farm shop cafe. Highly recommended to anyone considering giving it a go!
