Kettleby cross Melton mowbray
Kettleby cross Melton mowbray, the ordered arrived within a reasonable time however we hadn't received the food order so we ordered more drinks, when they arrived I asked for an explanation on why we had been waiting more than 40 minutes. Our food arrived, the toast was fully dehydrated and curled, an obvious skin had formed on the pot of baked beans, regardless of how the eggs were originally prepared they had now been very well done due to excessive exposure to heat. We never received an explanation, justification or apology for our reasonable expectations not being met.
Disgraceful attitude: Wetherspoon 3 Hullats…
Go every week to Wetherspoon 3 Hullats Leeds, half time food cold. Today sent it back then back again- luke warm m. Man serving nasty piece of work. Reported to Manager who offered my money back which I took. I’ll speak to himwas his answer.Disgusting laissez-faire attitude. Useless online complaining- it’s just sent back to pub manager. Obviously head office not interested. Last time i spend my money there.
COMPLETE FAILURE OF MANAGEMENT STRUCTURE AND CUSTOMER SERVICE ETHICS
I am disgusted by the complete failure of Wetherspoons' management structure and customer service ethics. This is a review for The Bottle Kiln in Harwich.
I asked a server at The Bottle Kiln if the "Buttermilk Chicken Burger" was grilled or fried. The manager, upon intervention, aggressively insisted she could not answer due to "health and safety and allergens," despite me clarifying it was not an allergy query. When I expressed my confusion and dissatisfaction with her attitude, she threatened to refuse service and, crucially, aggressively refused to provide her name when I requested it for a formal complaint.
I filed a formal complaint detailing this policy violation. Head Office responded twice, both times ignoring the manager's refusal to identify herself and unilaterally closing the matter. Their final communication stated, "We can confirm that we have nothing further to add and in view of this we consider the matter closed."
This demonstrates Wetherspoons' willingness to actively shield a manager who violated company policy to obstruct a formal complaint. Furthermore, strong evidence suggests management staff at this branch are related, reinforcing the lack of local accountability.

Wetherspoons not fit for purpose
Title: Thirty Years of Loyalty Repaid with Disrespect
I had been a loyal Wetherspoons customer for over thirty years, spending around £22 every week — a lifetime of quiet loyalty and consistent custom.
A few weeks ago, I politely informed the pub manager that the hot-chocolate machine was malfunctioning and emptying out. Instead of addressing the issue, she became defensive. Soon afterwards, I discovered that I had been banned from the premises altogether — without warning, without explanation, and without a single opportunity to tell my side of the story.
There was no aggression, no raised voice, no disorderly behaviour — just a straightforward comment about a faulty machine. Yet this was logged as a “confrontation.”
I wrote to Wetherspoons Head Office, including the company director, to ask who authorised this and why. Not one person replied. The silence itself says everything about how far the company’s standards have fallen.
This is not the Wetherspoons I remember — a place that once valued ordinary, respectful customers. It now appears to operate on a culture of managerial arrogance and corporate indifference, where even a loyal customer of thirty years can be written off on a whim.
I will not return. They’ve lost a genuine, long-term customer, and judging by the lack of accountability, it seems they no longer care. That’s a sad reflection of what this establishment has become.
Velvet Coaster half term a year later from my 5 star review. Poor management, poor staff and inadequate app. Not bothered, how easily a pub can deteriorate!
Velvet Coaster half term
Quarterjack...NEEDS STAFF !!!!
In the year since I have retired I have been using a wetherspoons twice a week. I travel between yeovil, Wells, street, chard and taunton.
For a full year now the quarterback in Wells has been understaffed. Whatever lunchtime I visit, its always a struggle to get a pint. Tables are dirty and plates left. Okay it's half-term, but today (28/10/25) the queue was half way down the pub with 2 serving ( also doing the app orders as well ). It's been like this for the entire year i have been visiting. I gave up,after ten minutes and got the bus to the wetherspoons in yeovil where I was served straight away....and its half term there too !!!!
Shocking servers and customer complaints section
I were sitting with some friends having a quiet drink and happened to see two young girls standing at the bar waiting to be served.
There was 2 young males early 20’s that worked at the pub standing in front of the bar talking and one behind the bar putting glasses away. The bar man looked at the young girls waiting to be served multiple times and yet still went on to filling up glasses twice and then filled up bottles and still looking at them waiting and trying to get his attention and ignoring them.
The two young males working for Wetherspoons in front of the bar looked at the girls and laughed at them them not being served and pushed each other slightly like a male friend / their bros do to each other when they’re pleased with something they’ve done, Looked at the girls and laughed again.
You could clearly see the two girls about 18-19years old wouldn’t say anything about this so I thought I would.
I sent a complaints to the website and they wouldn’t do anything about it unless the girls would complain. Not only do I not know the girls to let them know, but I clearly put in the email they probably wouldn’t have complained as not the type. Can see why the staff are like this if the complaints won’t sort anything unless the actual person complains.
Poor customer service
Staff were rude and unwilling to listen even after pointing out what was in black and white on the menu appeared to be unimpressed with being asked questions and probably would have charged us if we'd asked them to crack a smile. Doubt I'll get my refund due in 5 days?
Cold food & poor service.
My wife & I went for breakfast at the three hulats, Leeds this morning. This was at 8.30 approx & it was very quiet. The service was Terrible & the food was cold, would definitely not recommend.
Lard burger and cardboard chicken
Went to The Cross Keys in Beverley, it’s always extremely busy. My partner has his favourite Empire State burger and I had a chicken Thai bowl.
It was vile! The burger was so greasy it my partner was left nauseous, he left most of it. My Thai bowl was a microwaved piece of reconstituted chicken on sticky rice with a bit of Thai sauce on, pathetic for nearly £10.
The pub is way to packed with tables, it’s chaotic and tables constantly left covered with glasses and dirty crockery.
Best thing about the venue is the stunning toilets!
Won’t be going ever again! Had two horrid meals there now.
Moon and stars Romford has some really…
Moon and stars Romford has some really rude staff . A couple of the door staff have a really bad attitude and the manager has no customers relation skills at all .when I complained he dismissed my treatment being verbally abused by his staff as common place , food was cold and garlic bread burnt , this branch is not a patch on the other locals pubs Wetherspoons is going downhill fast
Overcharged, not refunded
I was overcharged at their Burnham on sea pub, this is not disputed. I informed the manager who told me to clo online .
Head office informed me that I had been refunded, I hadn't
They will not refund me or respond to my emails.
If this happens to you do not leave the premises until you have it sorted by the management as head office clearly use this ruse as part of their business model, or better still , take your custom elsewhere.
We on a regular basis go to the Penny…
We on a regular basis go to the Penny Black in Bicester and order on the app. The app can be a bit iffy depending on signal where you are sat so did a manual search fo the Pub. Anyway found the Penny Black, ordered and waited and err waited. Apparently there is more than one JD Penny Black so had ordered some place far away. The staff said it was a common occurence and could not rectify the error so we are out of pccket for 2 currys.
Since they changed the menu what’s the…
Since they changed the menu what’s the point. My family and I used to attend on a regular basis. Mixed grill, steak meal. Or even sometimes just some nibbles. But the chicken strip are now like nuggets no consciences in size. You no longer get a choice of dip. To be fair it’s cheaper to cook the meal at home and get a good meal. The food has gone downhill fast.
From going 4 times a week I’ve not been bothered to go for over 6 weeks. Well done Wetherspoons not long before you go down the pan like the other pubs
We recently visited WetWeatherspoon compny policy to ignore disabled access problems.herspoon…
We recently visited Wetherspoon Abergavenny as we have on many occasions previously.
The premise is accessed by a set of winding stairs. There is a large sign, informing disabled persons to “ring” for assistance, as there is a stair lift installed for the purpose of transporting disabled persons, wheelchairs, etc. to the upper main the pub/restaurant floor area.
Firstly, there is no bell to call for assistance. An able bodied member of our party ascended the stairs to personally and verbally ask for assistance. After waiting for a bar operative to be free, and asking for assistance with the stair lift, he was told, “It’s not working”, and was them ignored and disregarded. He approached an assistant who was clearing tables. This operative informed him that the lift has been broken, ‘for a long time’, and that although the problem had, ‘probably’ been reported, Weatherspoon had not been interested in rectifying the situation.
For all of Tim Martins riches, it is disappointing that his company spokesperson at this venue confirmed that Weatherspoon have no interest in the welfare of disabled persons visiting their premises, and are happy to turn their business away with a total lack of disinterest by staff members. Just another case of dreadful British customer service.
It was also noted that members of the usual crowd of all day drinkers were using the ‘disabled’ toilet rather than use the main toilrt facilities for non disabled persons.
I ordered a Chicken Tikka Masala meal…
Chicken Tikka on the Rocks!...I ordered a Chicken Tikka Masala meal with the alcoholic drink included, on the infamous Curry Thursday at the Stockport town centre Wetherspoons. The meal was worth the money - You can't knock it, it was good value. The only problem was that even though I kept asking the staff to to turn the air con speed down, as it was blowing a freezing cold gale above my head, it just fell on deaf ears. After being told unfortunately that it couldnt be turned down and half my meal had already turned to ice, I decided to leave the premises with the hope of warming myself up on the way to the bus stop. For anyone wanting to savour the Wetherspoons experience, try to avoid sitting beneath the air con vents, and ensure you wrap up warm, before sitting down to enjoy your warm food. That'll be for a brief moment, before the hyperthermia sets in! Cheers! 🍻🍛🥶
The Coronation Hall shenanigans.
The Coronation Hall, St. Marks' Hill, Surbiton.
I have been a loyal customer for at least 4 years. More recently, I have been injured due to lack of health and safety warnings being heeded. Two injuries to my index fingers due to protruding sharp brass objects placed on the hand rails. These have now been removed due no doubt to my injuries. I shall instigate small claims proceedings if we cannot settle a figure. More recently, a friend of mine and I have been barred. The friend allegedly upset a novice member of staff who, nevertheless, took her money and served the two drinks with assistance from the duty manageress who then appeared and completely upset my friend in front of me and one other. I will not name her directly but, shall we say, she did not show a lot of grace. And, it must be said that her sartorial attire is hardly appropriate for a manageress, yet alone a member of staff. I will name the licensee: Kara Nash. She should take responsibility. Sir Tim Martin should practise what he preaches and his staff should think very carefully before they ban a former senior civil servant and a guy who has appeared at the Court of appeal and, indeed, managed to achieve cancellation of the manageress's parking ticket last year on a pro bono basis. As legal proceedings may well ensue, I will not elaborate at this stage.
