I'm a web developer. I've managed 50+ domains with 101.ua for over 10 years across ~10 different registrars. Nothing comes close to this level of dysfunction — and I'm now convinced it's not incompetence. It's intentional.
The transfer obstruction system — how it actually works:
Every step of the transfer process is deliberately broken:

NS changes only go through during business hours. I manage 50 domains. I've watched this pattern repeat across all of them — the zone never updates outside their support window. They tell you "up to 72 hours." The real reason is they batch-process changes manually when staff arrives. Every other registrar does this automatically in 1–3 hours.
Removing the transfer lock doesn't mean you can transfer. They'll remove it — and then give you a broken auth code. I tested the same code with two different registrars. Both rejected it. Invalid.
They don't provide the EPP contact auth code — claiming it's "not needed." It is, in some cases. They just won't give it.
Making contact info public triggers a new 24-hour delay. So: request unlock → wait 24–40h → request contact visibility → wait another 24h → request auth code → get invalid code → start over. On weekends, add 48 hours to every step because support simply doesn't exist.
I missed an auth code they sent me. The domain expired, got suspended, and I was forced to pay $26 to renew it with them again. The code was sent late — by their delays — and the window closed. Zero accountability.

This isn't a struggling startup. This is a company that has systematically redesigned every domain management workflow to trap customers. Since closing their Ukrainian office, the service has become outright hostile to Ukrainian clients. Support gives template responses that don't match reality, contradicts itself between tickets, and disappears entirely on weekends.
If you have domains here — start migrating now, one by one, and document everything. If you're considering registering — don't. Use anyone else on the planet.

SCAM - Avoid 101domain

101domain charged me for domains that were not actually available and were canceled by them. The domains were never activated, yet the charges posted to my bank.

They refused to issue proper refunds, hiding behind “void” and “pending” excuses even after my bank confirmed the money was captured. Support contradicted itself and pushed responsibility to the bank instead of fixing their billing.

No resolution. Forced to dispute with my bank.

I had a very disappointing experience…

I had a very disappointing experience with 101domain. My account was blocked without any clear reason, preventing me from accessing important information. When I tried to contact support, I found the process frustrating and unhelpful. I kept encountering errors like “403 Forbidden” while attempting to view my support ticket. It has now been more than a month, and the issue remains unresolved.

Their customer service is extremely slow and unresponsive, and there seems to be no proper system for trustee services. I expected a more professional and transparent experience from a domain provider, but unfortunately, 101domain has fallen far below those expectations. I do not recommend their services at all.

I have been a customer for a number of years a(10 years), they stick it out with its customer base and are loyal. All I can say is excellent, Great and best of the best! You need to Google what to do and then you have to create a support ticket in a specific category mentioning the account.close domain, then you have wait for them to reply, reply to the ticket to confirm that you want to cancel all services (even if you don’t have any) and then they still send you emails “verify your account contact update request” “ If you do not verify this information, your request may be canceled or the change reverted.
If this request is related to new domain name purchases, your domain names may be suspended after 15 days after the original request without verification.” what do I do with this? JUST DELETE THE ACCOUT IF IT DOESN’T HAVE ANY SERVICES AND ADD A BUTTON INSTEAD OF REQUIRING A SUPPORT TICKET

Extremely Disappointing Experience with This Domain Provider

I recently attempted to register a .al domain through 101domain and encountered an unacceptably poor process from start to finish.

First, I confirmed that the domain was available across all local registrars. I submitted my order promptly and provided all required documentation for identity verification. Despite meeting every request in a timely manner, the provider abruptly canceled my transfer.

Key Issues:

Unjustified Cancellation: No reason was given for terminating the transfer after I complied with every verification step.

Lock‑Out Effect: By canceling the transfer, they effectively blocked me from securing the domain elsewhere.

I expected a professional, straightforward process when registering a country‑code domain. Instead, I was met with disorganization, indifference, and needless delay. I cannot recommend this provider to anyone who values clear communication, reliable service, and respect for their customers’ time and projects.

Bottom Line: If you need a .al domain—or any domain, for that matter—look elsewhere. This company’s mishandling of a simple verification process has cost me both time and confidence.

Here is their Justification via Email:

IT IS TOTALLY A SCAM COMPANY. CAUSE THE DOMAIN WAS AVAILABLE ON ALL DOMAIN PROVIDERS.

AFTER I INITIATED THE ORDER ON 101DOMAIN IT WAS TAKEN BY THEM. I DON'T KNOW WHAT KIND OF GAMES THE PLAY WITH VALUED DOMAINS AND NEVER BUY FROM THEM CAUSE WILL STEAL YOUR VALUED DOMAIN NAME. AND AFTER THAT IT WAS NOT MORE AVAILABLE ON ALL PROVIDERS.

THESE GUYS PLAY DIRTY.

Sold me taken domains

I bought an albanian domain name, then realized it was missing a letter so i bought another one to get it right.

After buying the second one they were having an issue with domain for some reason, turns out it was registered to someone else but they sold it to me anyways.

So I have them refund that to me and i was just going to make due with the other spelling. but i was noticing i was having issues with the nameservers on that one.

I started getting a ton of email notifications for 101 domain seeing that they cancelled BOTH domains. when i messaged support asking why.

You'll never guess.

it was registered to someone else too! but they had no problem taking my money twice and in seconds, but guess how long i have to wait to get my money back? you guessed it... 5-7 working days.

Im not going to go into how the support staff just kept running aroung and wouldnt anser my questions.

i work in tech and this was the worst experience i ahve ever had with a company, and those of you that work in tech know the nightmares that come with it. Buying a domain shouldnt be one of them!

Their service is always reliable and professional, making the entire process smooth and hassle-free. I Have been using 101domain since 10 years, all i can say is that they are one of the most reliable domain name service providers. They follow up on every service request, and never leave any pending issue un-solved.

One of the best things i enjoy is that you have access to register domain name with extension you cannot find anywhere else. example: .me, .sa, .ac , etc...

Charged a $150 renewal fee

Charged a $150 renewal fee after our credit card expired. It was impossible to pay this fee as there was no link on the site or an email.

Would never use again if I had to.

Do not go with this stupid company. I had issues first their service is as per PT zone and secondly when they come back with ticket answer, their answer are nonsense. It affected big time our business

My email was compromised and the…

My email was compromised and the hijackers changed my password. 101 Domain required I send passport, drivers license, pilots license to them via open internet email to gain credentials to sign into my account, even though I could provide my user name. After sending docs twice without a secure VPN to send them to they have asked for them a third time claiming they cannot read them and still have denied me a password to my account. My business is shut down because they have locked me out of my own email. But everyone across Europe can get access to it!
