This is a great Star Smog station. Appreciated how easy it was to schedule, quality of the work done, and Numan's customer service. He is a hard working, old-world professional who cares about his customers. It showed in the attention to detail, clear & accurate communication and responsiveness. I will definitely be coming back. (Note - I have an older car and it is hard to find stations able and willing to test - so highly recommend).

This was fraud. The picture shows the smog check place at Castro Smog Station at 376 Castro. Very nice people and efficient. If you make a reservation, you are setting up an appointment at the Chevron station across the intersection. The Chevron station uses the photo of their competition and charges $30-40 more. When this happened to me, he wouldn't even tell me the price ($129) beforehand, saying it would depend on the results. Beware.

Hi Heidi,
We do not use pictures of our competitors on any of our official platforms (Business website, Google reviews, Yelp, TrustPilot). Our address and business name are clearly listed on these platforms to avoid any mix up.
On the contrary Castro Smog’s Google Reviews shows a photo of our smog station. We have no control over this as it was posted on their webpage, not ours.
Please also note that when searching for “Castro Smog” google may sometimes recommend multiple businesses, such as ours, because we are in the Castro area. This is a result of the algorithm, not something we have control over.
We would like to know where this picture you saw was to avoid any confusion. If we tested your vehicle and you are not happy with the experience. I’m more than happy to give you some refund.
Please let me thank you!
