AIFS Abroad Avis 

The program matched me with a great company for my internship, I learned a lot about working in a workplace environment and they were extremely supportive of me throughout.

The experience was great because I met new friends and found new places all in 8 weeks. This program is prepared well and has good health care coverage.

My summer in Galway was nothing short of amazing. I didn't really know what to expect going into it because it's not a huge city like Dublin or London, but Galway exceeded my expectations. The city is gorgeous & lively all of the time. There are so many cute shops that are fun to look around in. The Tiny Traders Village was my favorite thing to do on the weekends because I love looking at and buying things from local crafters. The day trips we took to Inishmore (Aran Islands) and Connemara were also incredible! I loved being able to immerse myself into the true Irish culture. I read somewhere once that if you want a true Ireland experience, go to Galway because it's the cultural capital. That wasn't wrong at all. I am so happy I chose Galway. Our location advisor is also incredible. She gave us the best advice on where to go, how to get there, or other things to do. This was by far the best summer of my life, and I'm already planning my return to Galway. :)

My experience was amazing and was placed in an internship that matched my career path and skill set! The planned trips through AIFS was phenomenal with my personal highlight of a beautiful Blue Mountains hike!

I liked that we had preplanned excursions included which made the trip much more worth while. The company I was out with was amazing and I really enjoyed my time with them

-Overall being a part of the AIFS Sydney, Australia internship program has been an amazing experience! AIFS did a great job at planning and preparing incoming interns for the program, and arranging fun activities for everyone to participate in. Sydney was a very beautiful city and I had a lot of fun exploring the area and meeting new people. With the help of this program I also learned a lot of valuable lessons about my career path and what my future career may look like

I had a really positive and good experience here in Florence through AIFS. They put me in a really good living accommodation that I was happy with and I found the staff to be very helpful and easy to talk and communicate with. The placement they put me in for my internship was fantastic and I had a wonderful experience working and got to build really good relationships with the people I worked with. I also got to meet and make friends with many people and had a great social life and social aspect to this trip. I would recommend AIFS because it's provided me with a great experience and memories that I will never forget.

Interning full time was a lot of work and it can be difficult to want to go to work every day when there is exploring to be done. However, getting the chance to work full-time was such a rewarding experience and my boss was really accommodating about letting me take Fridays off to travel, and working with locals also means that you get the best recommendations! AIFS was always available for support when necessary, and it was comforting for myself and my parents to know that there was somebody in my program location for help if necessary. I wouldn't trade this experience for anything and I got to meet some amazing friends (in addition to working in my industry)!!

Being able to come to Florence has taught me so much! About myself, my social life, and my professional life!! I met so many amazing people while here for the last 2 months, and created such awesome memories that will last a lifetime! Coming across the world by myself was the scariest thing I had ever done, but being able to connect with other students my age that were doing the same thing, really gave me peace at mind and made me feel better!

Sydney has a lot to offer, both socially and professionally. This combination provides a good experience for interns looking to travel to a new city. My placement provided me a plethora of new knowledge and experiences that I am most definitely going to carry with me in my career. Overall I think Sydney great destination and would recommend everyone to visit at least once.

This experience has been an incredible adventure! I feel like I am leaving more confident in my career and inspired in my personal life. AIFS did a wonderful job preparing me, and Andrea was a phenomenal program director once in Australia. Sydney itself was the best location choice for me. Since it was my first time abroad on my own, I wanted something that had a similar culture to home in the states. I never felt alienated here, but since it's so close to Asia, I got to experience plenty of cultural fusion which broadened my world view. If you're on the fence about studying or interning abroad in Sydney, I can say from experience that it did not disappoint.

I really enjoyed the program!! Our onsite coordinator helped coordinate fun events for our intern group! Sydney is a great place to visit and it’s been a good experience overall :)

Great resource for students looking to study abroad and their home institution/ University doesn’t offer any programs within their interest. Lead/coordinated by great people who are always eager to help with anything and fairly fast at responding to emails/questions! I would 100% recommend their services and would recommend taking the South Korea abroad program which were 4 months I will never forget!

I knew I wanted to study abroad since I was very young and choosing AIFS Valencia was the best decision I ever could have made. Pre-departure could use improvement as communication prior to arriving in Valencia was subpar, but once we landed, we were in good hands. Janan is the most amazing program director: personable, knowledgeable, helpful, caring, and hilarious. She was our Spanish mother for 4 months and ensured we were healthy, cared for, and having the greatest time possible. She prepped weekly activities every Friday that were packed with fascinating cultural activities and adventures across Valencia and more; we didn't want to miss any. Valencia has so much to offer as well; up until last week, I was finding new places I wanted to try. I lived in an apartment of 7, which sounds like a big yikes, but turned out nearly perfect. Our apartment was centrally located and allowed us to walk / Valenbisi / metro / bus for anything we could ever need. I had a good experience taking courses through UCV as well, but I had a few friends who had issues with grades, transfer credits to home institutions, language barriers with professors, and poor response times from the institution. All in all, I would not trade my experience for anything.

My host stay and my program director abroad really helped to make my experience amazing.

My daughter participated in the AFIS Abroad Valencia Spain program in the spring of 2024, and it was the experience of a life time for her. She made life long connections and was able to experience the full Spanish / European culture. The Director, Janan Batteh, did an outstanding job of connecting and working with each of these students. I would highly recommend this program if you are looking for your son / daughter to expand their education and cultural experience.

I loved living and learning in Sevilla for a couple months! The program was awesome and the people were even better! Definitely going to remember my time there for the rest of my life. Adios España!!

I had an amazing time during the AIFS internship program in London! I felt I gained valuable experience not just through my internship, but also by living in a foreign city. There are endless things to do and see in London, and the transport system makes it easy to get almost anywhere in and around the city. As part of the AIFS program, we also had organized events such as day trips, nice dinners, and musicals just to name a few. We had access to tons of resources and I always felt cared for/supported by the London AIFS staff. I would highly recommend this program to anyone who wants to live and work abroad!

The AIFS Rome program was an incredible experience. The staff were all very friendly, helpful, and easy to reach out to. The program's meal plan was amazing and allowed for students to visit several great restaurants. The many day trips and weekend excursions were unique to the program and were some of my favorite parts of the semester. I felt like I explored not only Rome but several parts of Italy through the program's many opportunities it offered. Some of my favorite activities offered by AIFS throughout the semester included a Roma football match, cooking classes, wine classes, guided walking tours, opera night, and museum visits. The activities made it easy to meet friends within the program and familiarize myself with the city and culture of Italy. I only wish the program was longer than 13 weeks, but with all the included activities and excursions, it was very worth its price. The academics were for the most part amazing. One of my professors is one of my favorites I've ever had and class was never boring or unmanageable. Many class sessions included field trips. As an Art History student, I thought that the program's classes for my major were incredible. The semester was so much fun. Between AIFS's classes and all of their activities, I can't think of a single day where I felt like I'd wasted my time. I would highly recommend this program!
