This was my very first time buying anime figurines from Akimomo and located in Australia. I did research from people's experiences from this Akimomo, but I had no issues with order updates and tracking numbers. Now I live in the USA and Akimomo is in Australia and I KNOW shipping WILL TAKE MONTHS for it to arrive to my address.

I purchased my first figurine on March 18, 2026. It was in stock and it was already released after it's released date. I have confirmation numbers and trackings. All I had to do was to wait patiently. After a month and 2 weeks it has arrived and the package was VERY WELL packed double boxed and corner protectors it was undamaged and made it safe to me. I was so happy and shout out to the staff team for making my first experience great. I did pre-order more figurines so I'm confident that they will arrived soon after the release date.

I know people have different experiences, and I'm speaking to the USA peeps. If you decide to buy from Akimomo and give it a try, I say go for it I recommend them. However, PLEASE read very carefully whether the figurine you like is in stock, then you might get yours soon, just like mine was in stock, and I got it in a month and two weeks.

Thank you Akimomo and I hope to see new anime figurines in the future.

Akimomo has been a good store with a wide selection of figurines at a competitive price. If you're a patient person then it is worth trying to buy from them as the only downside is a longer than usual delivery times compared to other stores. I give them 4 stars to offset some of the negative reviews and for the fact they refunded me the pre-orders they weren't delivered in a batch I ordered 2 years ago today. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt as I heard their company got restructured and their warehouse got relocated during that period.

AVOID AVOID AVOID

I preordered 13 figures and some statues from Akimomo between 2022 and 2024, and it’s been a complete nightmare. Only 5 ever showed up. All others are long past their release dates and still haven’t shipped, even though they’re already available elsewhere. Their support is a joke, slow, unhelpful, and always giving empty promises. After waiting this long, it’s nearly impossible to get a refund or chargeback.

To anyone thinking of ordering from this company: DONT DO IT. The prices might look tempting, but what’s the point if they never deliver? They take your money and leave you waiting for years. Avoid Akimomo at all costs.

Avoid this company like the plague

Avoid this company like the plague. Ordered 3 figures, received one after 2-years and than they kept ghosting me about the other 2. They accept they have the order but say it's sold out and won't refund or reimburse in anyway...

I'm adding two stars as they did ship the figure and it arrived in perfect shape. I will however leave the original message.

2 years later haven't received the figure...

it 2 years later and i still haven't received the figure...
i preodered a figure that was set to release on the 26/02/2024 and it still hasn't shipped... i have had to try and change shipping address 4 time as i have moved 4 time since release date and they just don't reposnd

Changed experience after the re-structure.

I've ordered with them 8 times, and all have been pre-order items between 2021-2024.
All of the (7) orders between 2021-2023 all arrived well packed with no damage, but after a little bit of wait time (usually a month or 3 after the figure release date)
I chalked the wait time up to the time it takes to initially ship the figures to the company, before they then send it on to customers and didn't mind the wait.
However, with my most recent (and last) purchase from this store (04/2024) I've been waiting over a year for my figure with no communication from the store or its workers. I've sent 2 messages asking for information with radio silence back as of writing this review (3/6/2025)
Doing a bit of research led me to find out they re-structured in the last year and moved their home base out from Australia (no email/communication about the change to current waiting customers which is poor service)

I ordered with them because it was the cheapest place to find figures shipping to Australia ((still just as expensive but no conversion rate fee or shipping cost)) but I am highly unlikely to make any purchase's from them again after this experience.

Giving them 3 stars, because 7 out of 8 orders did arrive with no issue and no damage.
But given this most recent experience and seeing others start to have the same problem it will be an Order at your own risk situation.

I've been chasing them down for a refund since my order cannot be filled, and haven't had a single reply.
I also tried to use their 24/7 help service and it was shut down immediately by the person who operates it, without giving me any information at all.
Go somewhere else, don't bother with per-orders from this company.

I had bought 3 figures that were INSTOCK everything went well, it just took a week or two to ship out.

HOWEVER don't even try to pre-order from this company. They take so long and not only that will take a long time to respond. If you want to cancel a figure you pre-ordered they just won't reply but if you pre-ordered a very popular figure thats going for a very high price in the aftermarket, they will reply to you in an instance. I can see the Chun-Li figure that I had pre-order for $419 for $799.

I had this pre-ordered and the release date was August on their site. Arrived in their warehouse October (They said) and November they said they will try to ship out. Come 2025 Jan/Feb/March I just had enough so I cancelled it and low and behold they're reselling it for double the price. Stick to local stores.

Note: I had referred my friend to order something in stock whilst my pre-order was already in their warehouse ready to ship and they got it first when they ordered it after. FYI. We will entirely avoid this site from now on.

find some other store dont use them

Having purchased from them before I felt safe to buy a second statue from them. But this time it arrived damaged. After contacting customer service and placing a report i was offered a 30% partial refund because they could not source a replacement. I was very happy with this.
What could have been WAY better was the follow up service. it took MONTHS of chasing them for the refund they promised. I finally received the refund, but under no circumstances will i ever purchase from them again.
Improve your customer service.
It takes one minute to explain to a customer what is going on, instead of saying the same old "we will look into it and get back to you" which they do not get back to you. I hope you decide to improve how you handle situations like this in the future.

Don’t use this company

Don’t use this company, there pre orders are basically scams, I spent almost a year waiting for two orders, the first I fully paid for and was told it shipped, it never arrived.

The second they lied and said they had emailed me about payment I never received any email,

i had to basically beg to get my money back it took over a month of daily emails till they finally sent me the my refund, they even said they had lost the record of my orders.

WARNING! Do not pre-order! (In-stock items okay though)

I have ordered plenty of figures from them in the past, but I have 3 outstanding pre-orders (the oldest was officially released in Oct 2023 - 12 months ago at the writing of this review).

Akimomo are NOT transparent about delays. They can't give you an ETA and are cagey about updates. I've asked for numerous updates. Their reply? We'll get back to you today - only for the day to come and go. Ask again and you'll get an apology and that they'll get an update for you. The update never comes. Rinse and repeat.

I would never pre-order through Akimomo again.

The only reason I'm not giving them 1 Star is that I have not had an issue ordering In-Stock items from them. Their packaging is great.

I regret ordering through Akimomo

I ordered "POP UP PARADE Goblin Slayer II Goblin Slayer L size Figure" from Akimomo. The website said the release date was February 2024. I contacted them via their website in March to inquire about an update. I was told by Drew that it was "included in the February shipping list, but it has yet to be shipped from Japan". I responded to his email with "Yeah okay, no worries. Totally understand. Thanks."

I contacted them via the website again in May and asked for an update. Once again I got Drew and he told me that "Rest assured, we will resolve this issue by May, and you will receive your item." Needless to say it wasn't resolved in May.

I asked again in June and was told "I will follow up to check the status of order ### and provide you with an update as soon as possible." I received no update.

It is now September. I asked again for an update and was told "We will review the status of this item once again and provide you with an update." I received that a week ago.

I wish I had ordered with a different company. Saving a couple bucks was not worth it. Apparently they are going through some sort of restructure. I honestly don't care. I just want to buy things from companies and I receive those things.
