So many lesson and doesn't really teach you that well.

this is genuinely the worst learning platform i’ve ever used aleks combines not actually teaching concepts with overly specific answers teachers expect me to just know how to do a concept they haven’t reached while the thing im meant to get right isn’t taught to me on the platform while it takes away points from questions ive gotten right. we have to do 8 a week which has me up at 11:00 on a sunday certain weeks and more and more often as they get harder through the year the explanations when you get something wrong are a lie they simply show you random numbers and an answer regather than actually explaining how you were wrong the knowledge checks are overly long and weigh your knowledge of a concept on one question before making you do the entire lesson again over and over sometimes setting kids back 20 lessons while teachers dangle parties for people who get enough by the end of a quarter in front of our faces while the program actively holds us back with zero explanation on how to actually do what they test you on schools in my area use this for the reports but at the cost of student well fare and money they could be using more constructively (our county is BROKE) while programs like kahn academy are free and actually teach you rather than treating learning like it’s the test.

I genuinely hate this platform. My professor uses it for Orgo 1 and 2. This program requires answers to be in a specific format and will mark you wrong for the smallest things that don't even really matter. Then randomly it will refresh when you take 10 minutes writing out a 15 step mechanism for a reaction because your session timed out. I hate this platform, it sucks.

Sent me a damaged code for a textbook and refused to refund or send me a replacement.

It's wrong. I put the right answer in, and it changes it to whatever it likes. It's a bad math website, and I would rather do something in a math book than this.

This is the single worst learning platform in the world. ALEKS support is only open 4 hours a day during morning work hours that most college students across America cannot contact or get help. I have submitted 17 requests to fix their broken content and they do fix it... after about a whole week which is after any and all due dates for opened content in each class. THIS IS NOT A LEARNING PLATFORM, IT IS A REPITION PLATFORM WITH COUNTLESS ERRORS AND A TERRIBLE STAFF THAT KILLS EDUCATION EVERYWHERE AND ENABLES TEACHERS TO KILL THEIR STUDENTS CURIOSITY.

If I could give a 0 star I would it’s rediculous!!! First of all it doesn’t teach you it gives you an example, but doesn’t explain clearly anything. It makes up numbers and doesn’t explain how solution process works. But it does over explain simple process in solving equations. Also, if you get something wrong, it punishes you. By giving you additional work by taking away the problem, you just got right rather than just giving you another problem. Literally taking a class to learn how to do it. Not to try and teach myself something I don’t know.

sometimes when I want to chill out my teacher tells me to do Aleks. After that I never wanted to blow up more. I hate Aleks.

Boring, repetitive, and overall a not well put together app

ALEKS is a very punishing experience, choosing to punish students over learning. There are a lot of problems with this app, which I will not write here, but if you search it up on Reddit, you will see why.

Worst service of all time. My acsess code ran out a week before my final and I had to repurchase an $132 new acsess code. Not to mention if u mistype one charecter you get the whole problem wrong. I hope collages stop using this awful service and switch to pen and paper.

McGraw Hill is Horrible.

They constantly log you out, even if you're active. Apparently after 4 hours it logs you out no matter what... Why?! Even if you click "stay logged in"! Teachers use it as a way to not teach, which isn't totally McGraw Hill's fault, but it shouldn't be the whole class, but a supplement. The read out loud is nice, but it needs improvement. It's very difficult to skip to the spot you want to read to, and you have to fast-forward with this itty bitty progress bar. If you try to read ahead or go back it stops the reading. Again, why? The tests are okay, but if you get an answer wrong, it will highlight in the book where the information is, but the indicator blocks the first word or part of the answer. Their use of serif and sans-serif font isn't well-done or feels intentional enough, I don't mean that as a nit-picky thing, but it's distracting. The yellow used to highlight information is too saturated, and is also very distracting. It's horribly expensive as well, they should be ashamed.

My biggest issue though is teachers replacing it with teaching. All my assignments (homework and quizzes) are through McGraw Hill. I am online and there's no lectures, either. No discussions, just reading, multiple choice questions, and fill in the blanks. The grading is automatic, so the teacher really isn't doing much but having office hours, answering a couple questions and emails.

Truly unfortunate I can't give them no stars. Without a doubt the worst learning tool ever created. The textbook sucks; there is no algorithm to view spelling errors, it is nothing but busy work, and worst of all, it only accepts answers McGraw deems as correct. It could be as simple as "Type the letter C," but you'll get it wrong for entering a lowercase letter rather than a capital letter. I cannot explain how completely terrible and unusable McGraw is. On top of that, it costs $150 for 6 months of access. At least I can sell a physical textbook instead of just being out an additional $150. I love paying thousands of dollars to an institution and professor just for them to outsource my education on my dime. Truly unfortunate I can't give them no stars. I am an Organic Chemistry student and trying to use ALEX is by far the hardest part of the class. They repeditaly count right answers wrong or on multiple choice the don't even have the right answer. The customer support is extremely unhelpful and has not responded to any of my emails about the issue. I know my professor is upset with them about all these problems yet they refuse to change anything. Again the hardest part of Organic Chemistry is this program.

I hate it so much.
The "Smart Textbook" isn't about learning, it's about getting stuff done.
The slideshows and textbooks don't line up.
The slideshows are inaccurate.
My professor is crashing out rn because how the heck do smartphones and home equity have in common?!

Can't really say for sure don't know at all can be torture if I am frustrated initially from a previous incident

As someone who uses Aleks quite often, I've come to think about how terrible it is. Every time I get a question wrong, it tries so hard to explain it, but it really just doesn't help AT ALL. I've had to use this program for 4 years now, each worse than before.
