We have built and deployed hundreds of web and mobile applications using Alpha tools and it has been our primary build platform since 2011.

The developers at Alpha make themselves available and it's a very personal relationship - which is good and bad, of course!

Their products are under constant development and (as of January 2025) they are enhancing their methods for quality control and product management which will help us enormously going forward.

The tool can be used "out of the box" (although you may need to put some time and effort in to become familiar with their tutorials and methods) or it can be used as part of a much bigger tech stack including other languages, add-ins and techniques.

Alpha Cloud is especially good as a deployment platform and it now powers most of the systems we build.

In summary, if you are looking to build web apps, mobile apps, PWAs or even an API, take a look at Alpha's toolset.

The Alpha Software eco system of Alpha Anywhere (development platform), Alpha Cloud (integrated hosting platform) and Alpha Transform (Digital form filler package) all work together seemlessly and make for full stack development.

Extensive use of built in genies make this a powerful no code/low code platform allowing me as a developer to focus on delivering feature rich applications for my clients in a timely fashion.\

If you need or want to you can also get right under the hood and code away to your hearts content using industry standard languages including javascript, json, python etc.

I will admit I have looked at rival products but none have come close to this offering.

The product is constantly being enhanced and developed allowing it to keep pace with global developments. You can build for mobile, browser based or both very easily. You can build Progressive Web Apps as well.

The company are very responsive to feature requests. There is a sound forum which is a good source of ideas and support. There is also a strong developer led group (IADN) that hold weekly webinars where experienced and newbie developers support each other. This is even attended by Alpha staff who often use this as a source of feature requests.

Overall my own developer business has flourished and this has certainly been helped by use of the Alpha Software products.

Terrible software and company. I used their software for a few years and everything they said would work, never ever did work right. When you contact support, sometimes they will give you the run around and then ultimately say you are the problem not the software, which isn’t the issue at all. The salesmen can be disrespectful to you if you mention all the problems you are having with the software. The CEO of the company is the worst for blaming the customer for all the issues. It was easy to see, the reason they did that, was because they knew their software didn’t work like advertised. Save your money and time by finding something else to build your front end, Alphawhere is the worst I’ve encountered!!!

Looks great and they promise the world but in reality the tutorials are poor and when the expected action doesn't happen you're left with wasted hours and no help.

I’ve been writing data centric business applications for years and when I decided I wanted to move them to the web it became a daunting task. I tested Clarion, Webdev, Silverlight and Alpha Software.
Coming from a client server background it was a steep learning curve to realize that you need to learn five different languages or concepts to really make it work. Client side code, Server side code, HTML, CSS plus some type of SQL.
Alpha Software has created a very organized IDE that allows you to build very sophisticated applications.
I tell my customers, “if you can say it I can code it”. So far I’ve been able to do everything and anything inside the Alpha IDE using their data components, video components, mobile components, report writer, SOAP, Curl, JSON, security features plus more.
The components are full featured and can be used without customization. However, if you need to customize there are code hooks to allow coding, but most of it is low-code.
I use IIS as the back-end server so Alpha Software is a complete package from beginning to end.

Alpha is a great product in its own right, but it is made better by the almost instant response to bug reports/ request for help. The team at Alpha is incredible, they are "programmer" focused.
Alpha the product has a learning curve, but by doing the simple things first your small steps will help you understand the paradigm. A video a day keeps the blues away, Alpha has hundreds of short videos it does not take long to find details on most functions.

I've been amazed by the platform. It is easy to use, very rich with features and behind it is a great team. You can get up and running in 2-3 weeks. The security framework is the best and the easiest one I've come across. Simple the best RAD platform!
