The customer service is always beyond helpful. I have had to extend my program, push back my MCAT date, and redeem new codes; a lot of different issues to say the least. Altius has always made it super easy and quick to get all of this done. They are also always super understanding.

I had trouble accessing my materials, and the help I got from the Altius Test Prep team was amazing! They helped me get access to everything in no time at all, and they were very thorough in answering all of my questions. I am now all caught up because of them!

The Altius exams are very representative of the AAMC question styles. On my real test, my B/B and C/P sections felt like a slightly easier version of an Altius test. I would recommend to people who are solid with content knowledge but struggle with test taking to work through all the Altius full lengths (along with AAMC’s!) before they sit their exam and they will be extremely prepared. The exams have video explanations that teach you how to read/think over the passage and questions. This is everything if you feel like you are a poor test taker, because you will quickly absorb more strategies as you review your exams and take more of them. My only regret is not doing these exams earlier I highly recommend them to anyone who says they are struggling with the MCAT.

I was in the elite program. My mcat score didn't increase at all. I read all the chapters and did all the exercises. I am unsure if it was just test anxiety or test strategy.

Beyond comprehensive in terms of content and strategy. Scheduling and Structure requires extreme dedication due to high level of rigor and dense programing

Altius delivers what they promise. But it's important to know this will take a lotttt of hard work for you. With that expectation this is a fantastic program that will earn you the highest possible MCAT score

My tutor was awesome and really was the difference in my preparation for the mcat. The material was helpful, but have a tutor who understood the material and was able to guide studying efforts was extremely helpful.

I purchased the Gold prep program. The prep book was good, but I only made it about halfway through before I just focused on the practice question sets and FLEs. FLE’s were challenging and great. I could have gone without the group sessions, as I feel like there was just so much wasted time, and the return was minimal. Tutor sessions were okay, but I definitely did not need the 25 that came with the program. I used about half and just focused on FLE for the last 2 months before my test date. The tutor sessions were kinda just like doing the practice questions in the book but with a proctor. I learned a few helpful skills as well. While I definitely recommend the program to anyone with an upcoming mcat, I think the gold purchase was a little too much. Go for something smaller, unless you feel like you would like extra tutor sessions. The prep materials were the best part for me personally. My first blind attempt at a FLE was a 496. My final FLE was a 512. My test day score was a 512. CP: 127 CAR:129 BB: 127 PSS: 129. Obviously the program worked, so they get some credit for that, but like I said, Gold was just a little unnecessary.

Signed up for the Elite program Spring. When it came close to what Altius stated was the rough start date heard nothing from Altius. Emailed them to ask when the start date would happen heard nothing back. Then weeks later my assigned mentor emailed me. Found out classes started a week prior and was never notified nor giving any way to sign up for said classes. So missed out on 2 weeks of classes and never got their materials for another week.

First, my score was 91% so this review does not come from any dissatisfaction with my score, however, I earned my score independent of the ALTIUS course. This course is EXPENSIVE. I was also lied to multiple times throughout the course about what services would be provided. Tutors were unhelpful, busy, and preoccupied with their own studies. Customer service was unreliable, at times clueless, and sometimes did not even return emails/phone calls. When asked by other students I specifically do not recommend ALTIUS.

They were not able to adjust the program for individual needs. When I did not have the time to do everything in the course, I was told basically that I either need to make time or take the MCAT another time. I ended up just doing my own study and did fine on the MCAT, but I did feel like I wasted a lot of money.

It was great to have mentors who actually cared about my success and went above and beyond to see me do well.

Questions weren’t great. Didn’t do the best job with content and I found myself filling in lots of gaps. There were no pictures in their which I felt like they were doing so they wouldn’t have to pay the copyright for them. A good part is that they had lots of practice tests that let you get a feel for the exam and all the tutors I had were really great people. I’m not sure if I got my moneys worth for how much I paid for this.

The course has a good outline and if you put in the work you will improve on the MCAT. The one on one tutoring is excellent and the class instructors are also very good. The Altius FLEs are fairly representative of the MCAT, if anything just slightly harder but nothing ridiculous like other test prep companies. My only critique would be that at the beginning of the course you could totally tell that the altius people were scrambling which led to the week before the course start and the first week with classes to be disorganized and confusing. The course was not as well explained as it could have been initially but everything smoothed out quickly. Overall a great resource for MCAT prep.

It was ok. So much specifics that were such low value. Felt like I was an overflowing cup that wasn’t too useful for lots of it.

Good structure, right emphasis on strategy, how to think about things, and independent content learning rather than just another ineffective didactic course. The only thing that ever improved my CARS score.

Terrible, did not help me at all. Mentor was not responsive/was not helping much. Wish I could get some sort of refund/compensation. Would never suggest anyone to use them

The materials they provide are super helpful. However: you can buy most of it on the AAMC website for way cheaper. I’d suggest studying with AAMC materials, Khan academy, and UWorld instead of breaking the bank for a company that only wants your money (most Altius students use these resources anyway). Altius promises so much, but can’t always hold through with the promises. Do yourself a favor and save the money by using other options.

After purchasing their ~1,020$ programming they never sent me the materials. They immediately charged me too.

I tried to reset the password on my account, thinking that would get me access, but Altius never even sent the email to reset my password. I also called their HQ to ask about when the materials would be delivered and they said that morning. I never received any materials in my inbox.

It's disheartening to see how this company takes advantage of anxious pre-meds and commits fraud by not delivering their products. Stay away.
