They treat us like idiots.
I terminated my contract with a publisher, White Magic Studios, and told them to remove my book, The World According To Rube, from all their platforms and stop selling it. I spoke with a person at White Magic Studios called Ashley, and he told me to instruct them to do it in an email. So, on 24 March 2025, I did the email and phoned to confirm that they got it. And Ashley told me he would do it. Barnes & Noble and Waterstones have stopped selling the book, but for some reason Amazon is still selling it on their site. So, I contacted Amazon and was instructed to go to Author Central to talk about the problem and resolve it, but for some reason you can't talk with a real person. You've got to deal with a machine. So, I logged onto Author Central and tried to negotiate with a machine and got nowhere. It went back and forth several times, and I left lots of messages, but instead of dealing with the problem. They kept avoiding the issue and talking on about something else. It was like banging my head on the wall. I'm talking to them as clearly as I'm talking to you about the issue, but they kept saying see the publisher. It's the weekend now and they're closed. So, I phone customer service and repeated my problem again. But if they kept records, I've probably written a book. But they kept talking about giving me a link to get back onto to Author Central. I told them my problems with Author Central and asked to discuss my problem with a real person, but they kept putting me off. "Oh, no, we can't help you. You'll have to go back to Author Central." So, I asked the lady if she could put me through to them, but, "Oh, no, you have to log onto to their link." So, again, I told her about my communicate problems with them, and asked her, "If you were me, what would you do?" "Sorry, I can't help you." So, I told her, "Isn't customer service supposed to help people?" But I got back the same negative response. They work for the same people in the same building and they don't know what the other one is doing, and they don't talk with each other? They think we fell out of the stupid tree! And when I got angry, she couldn't understand why I was pissed at them. Like their mistake was my problem. Instead of wasting all this time, wouldn't it have been easier just to get on the extension and connect me to them? Gee! Are they real people working for Amazon or just robots? If I owned Amazon I'd be very concerned the people I have working for me. Public relations isn't their thing. I think of all the money they must have lost. Then I think about the starving people in Africa. It's a crime what're doing! That isn't any way to run a business. Once again, Gee!
