Definitely an SCAM! Read all the reviews before sign any document. I'm trying to cancel the policy, and they continue to charge it to my account. When you reach somebody by phone after more than 30 minutes after the automatized answering machine answered your call, and a natural person take the call to try and start the cancellation process, they pass the call to different departments, they play hot potato with you, after more than one hour in their game then they tell you that you will be receiving an email in 24 to 48 hours with the cancellation instructions, which arrive more than a week after your call, it reads that you will be receiving a written cancellation application by mail at the address in the policy, which never set foot in your mail. All this while they continue to charge their super expensive policies in a monthly basis. The only thing they are good and very aggressive is in selling expensive policies. Do not fell in their SCAM, I really don't know how BBB rated A+ this company when it has 1 STAR of 5 in their reviews, I believe it is time that BBB make a re-evaluation to this company, otherwise it will lose credibility.

Terrible company and a scam I told this company to cancel my policy and they are still taking money out of my account

I’d give zero stars if possible. They gave a consultation for my good friend and I was the “Emergency Contact”. My friend gave no permission for them to contact me but they’ve been blowing up my phone. Agent is Heidi Bargery and I don’t doubt that this is standard practice for the company. Absolutely disgusting.

Do not work for this company. Not only are the promises of big money fake but when you leave the company they want a bribe from you to go work for other insurance companies. In my case it is a $5958 bribe. At no point in time does the company disclose to you that you will need to pay a bribe to them if you want to leave company. Instead you find this out from the company that you went to trying escape American Income Life. Probably because you are made to over look the fraud that has been committed on an existing policy holder by your over all supervisor.

Terrible customer service experience. The agent and the call center just awful. I would not recommend this company to my worst enemy. I honestly don’t know how they are in business.

Every year, they bombard me with texts saying that the account needs to be ‘verified,’ or that the term has expired (it’s a whole life policy, not term), and then a pushy sales rep tries to upsell me. Stay away from AIL, they aren’t worth the trouble.

INCREIBLE, se cancelaron las pólizas hace aproximadamente 3 meses, y todo comenzó porque llamamos para agregar a mi hija a una nueva póliza y resultó que toda la información que nos vendieron, los montos y beneficios que supuestamente teníamos y que llevábamos pagando por 3 años, no eran los mismo que veía el agente en sistema, fue una frustración y decepción, pedí hablar con el agente CARLOS NAVAS, quien por mensajes de texto me decía que era un error de las personas que no sabían leer el sistema y que no cancelará mi beneficio, le pedí que me llamara y no apareció, seguimos indagando con otros agentes y todos manejaban información diferente, eran montos muy bajos donde en realidad no eran beneficiosos, y obviamente después de un proceso engorroso,logramos cancelar sin recibir ningun tipo de reembolso por el supuestoahorro de esos 3 años. Perooo para sorpresa, el día de hoy me llama otro agente preocupado según él por la cancelación, y quería ofrecernos de nuevo el servicio. Dios cada vez te llenan la cabeza de puros cuentos. Juegan con las necesidades de las personas y te hacen creer en cosas que no son reales

Representatives are extremely pushy. When a person states they aren't interested, have adequate insurance coverage or can't afford what they are selling the representatives need to listen! I plan on talking to my credit union to determine if they provided my name to this company.

This company opened a policy under my name and information under false pretenses. They said they were opening a policy under my partners - when his got denied they opened one under me but I did not get the great benefits we would have if it was under him. They opened it under mine Without Permission and Know Knowledge of it - they told me they were gathering my information to be a Beneficiary on His Policy. That was false. When I have confronted the company - I was put on "hold" and "call back again" for over a year. And then they told me they would not refund me the money they took from my account even though it was not authorized under me. And the manager was suppose to call me back - and still never has. I Highly Do NOT recommend this company. What they did was illegal as all get out!

Horrible Company. Major scam.

I have been with them for 17 years, and recently decided to cancel and move to a Canadian based company. I also needed the money from the cash surrender which is always “promised with no questions asked” well they definitely asked questions. I was then talked into a reduction for a partial payout. So I went with that for the time being. It has been 5 months and I can’t even count how many phone calls I have made regarding my partial payout.

My first call, the lady didn’t even change my policy, all she did was cancel my auto draft so then I ended up with a bill for the next payment (full original price) so called back.

Second call: nobody knew what was happening. And I got transferred around multiple times and was told I should see a check by next week. This was June.

Third/Fourth/Fifth calls all were met with the same cluelessness and I am put on hold everytime then they say something was sent in the mail on such and such day it is probably the check. And I wait 2 weeks c I’m in Canada and all I get is a policy update, or a new account balance because they STILL have not applied the auto draft properly.

The most recent call, the person who answered told me nobody at the call center actually knows anything about life insurance they just filter calls and pass on info. WOW. Thanks a lot a-holes.

I feel tricked and duped by the person who conned me into a reduction instead of a plain old cancellation.

Never ever ever use this company.

Oh and if anyone from AIL reads this, feel free to call me to make it right because I’m going to leave reviews on every review site possible.

This is a HORRIBLE company. I regret taking this life insurance policy(2 may I mind you) for my mother have been a customer since 2012. My mother had a flood due to extreme damage that was done with a storm that came through NE Ohio last week. We did not want to take out a loan nor did we need flood home insurance. We decided to take a "loan out on the policy" for a quick short term to utilize for repairs on my mother's home. Called on Monday, wanted the money direct deposited. Their customer service representative advised that you can not take a more than 5K per policy or else you will need have to wait for a check to be mailed. If under 5K per policy, we would get an ACH deposit. She stated we should see it in the bank by Thursday(within 3 to 5 days NOT business days). My mother called daily to make sure everything was in line, made arrangements for contractors to be at the home to repair the damage. EVERY DAY since Monday, she called to make sure all was good. EVERY DAY- SHE WAS ADVISED THAT SHE WOULD RECEIVE IT BY THURSDAY. Thursday came no deposit. She then called again on Thursday to find out that they had her money " in the air" as since she had more than 5K she needed to fill out a loan document to get it processed and it would take an additional 3-5 business days!!!! THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE. I am wondering how they would actually handle a death claim. I am stuck with this company for my mother as she is 76 years old and to find another insurance company would cost a fortune for the premium. I am disgusted as my mother really needed the help and this is just horrible. STAY AWAY from this company as they need to pull these calls and literally listen to them as their people need to be on the same page. Poor communication. I do not recommend this company to anyone!!!!!!!!

I applied for life insurance from them from an Insurance guy. Only time I heard anything after me emailing, texting, and calling was one time. Got a letter from them saying they needed more info. For what? I have spinal Stenosis and it isn't life threating. I don't smoke, drink or use drugs. This place at least can have enough to let me know why I'm being turned down.

I requested information from this company, which they duly provided, however they then call stalk you. I've received six voicemails from this company, despite telling them that I'm not interested. At what point will they stop calling? 8 voicemails? 12? What's the magic number???

WE NEVER RECEIVED ANY PAPERWORK OR TEXT, PHONE CALLS AFTER SIGNING UP. CANCELED INSURANCE THROUGH OUR BANKS FRAUD DIVISION, AMERICAN LIFE CONTACTED ALL THE PEOPLE WE HAD NAMED ON OUR POLICY, AND THEY CONTINUALLY TRIED TO GET THEM TO SIGN UP, SAYING WE RECOMMENDED THEM.. BEWARE OF THIS INSURANCE COMPANY.. THEIR POLICY IS BLURRY, AND WE NEVER GAVE ANYONE ANY AUTHORITY TO CONTACT OUR PEOPLE WE LISTED AS BENEFICIARIES. SO IF YOU DO NOT WANT THEM CONTACTING THE PRIVILEGED INFORMATION ON FOLKS YOU LISTED WHEN SIGNING UP, THEN STAY AWAY FROM AMERICAN INCOME LIFE..ITS A SCAM TO HELP THEM MAKE MORE MONEY IF THEY CAN..

We started a policy with AIL about 8 years ago. Every year we would get a call that something in had changed and we needed to up our coverage. Some years we did up our coverage but most we did not. They started wanting to do zoom calls and those started to get pushier and pushier. This year we waited on a zoom call for our new agent (we had a different one every year) for 40 minutes before he came on the call. I do not like to be on camera (I rarely come on camera at work) so we had ours off. This immediately makes the guy angry. He keeps asking why I won't come on camera. We finally move on to why we need to up our coverage. He writes three numbers on a white board and years that the rate would increase. I told him that I had taken a screenshot and would like to do some research before I commit to anything. This makes him really angry and he starts yelling that I am rude because I won't come on camera and that I took a screenshot. My husband could hear him yelling at me from the kitchen. He hangs up on me. We are furious and my husband calls the next morning to cancel our policy. They told him it was canceled and did not offer to send us anything to sign. We then notice that they are still withdrawing money from our account. Numerous calls finally got us one cancellation letter that they have denied. We get hung up on constantly when we ask to speak to someone else. They say they will send us paper work and they don't. We are forfeiting 8,000 to get away from this company!

It’s a good company and even better rep. The person I talked to was patient and explained all the questions I had. I would recommend this life insurance company to my friends and family.
