AquaSlate Group Avis 

We initially used Aquaslate to insulate our loft and while doing this they noticed a leak from our roof. They hesitate to check this for us and get it sorted. Very friendly and polite team of lads. Nothing was too much trouble, very reasonable pricing and they got it booked in very quickly. Would definitely recommend!

We was recommended by a friend, Ben and Charlie were Super friendly and knowledgeable, talked me through everything and we had many other quotes but those two put us at ease and wasn’t pushy at all. Would definitely use again

AquaSlate roof cleaning services are just that - They may work on roofs but putting it politely, it is highly questionable they are qualified / experienced roofers - My encounter suggests they are not.

1. They caused damage to my concrete driveway as they failed to protect it when shuttling debris into skip and loading tiles.

2. In there haste to rip of my slate, laths and felt they failed to use a plastic sheet in loft space resulting in dust and debris scatterd all over roofing insulation which also led to minor injury from debris falling on my head when attempting to access loft space, not to mention the dirt that spilled onto landing carpet.

3. They failed to set up fascia and battens correctly which is the foundation for all subsequent tile rows, meaning all tiles will have to be removed and battens repositioned.

4. The fascias were too small, aesthetically were disproportionate and could not comfortably accommodate the guttering.

5. First row of tiles drooped, leaving a gap under the leading edge of 2nd row

6. Tiles were incorrectly spaced and misaligned

7. My neighbours property had also been done by 'AquaSlate' and in order to remedy the overhang of the first row it was was evident the tiles had been trimmed using a brick cutter or stihl, destroying the drip edge which will allow water to run up the tile in windy conditions.

8. The overhang on the 1st row was too big meaning that with heavy rain, water will shoot over the gutter and not into it.

9. The gutter support brackets were spaced 1-1.2 meters apart and not the required 600-700 mm apart, meaning that the gutter is prone to distortion and failure (could break away and fall to ground) if stressed by any major weight such as heavy snow or ice.

So how did I become aware of this you ask? Having only seen their work from the ground I was unable to directly observe many of the issues raised due to scaffolding blocking my view - Due to what I could see I had concerns that tiles were not laying flat over the party wall region of roof and so asked a trusted and accredited builder I had used previously to go up on the scaffold and examine the work done by AquaSlate up to that point.

The accredited builder reviewed Aquaslates work and took several videos (which were sent to me and in turn to Aquaslate staff) pointing out issues both on and off camera - The accredited builder fundamentally condemned much of the workmanship but equally credited a few areas of work that although not ideal were 'acceptable' but also 'avoidable'

AquaSlate accepted the criticism, did not push back in any way and could only apologise, offering to rectify the issues raised - The problem with this, is that they had broken my trust and as demonstrated from their labours were not qualified to do the job in the first place, which by definition means they lack the knowledge & skills to rectify their own mistakes.

When someone who is actually qualified (with long experience) has to point out what is wrong with the workmanship (or lack thereof) of someone who states they are qualified . . Chances are they are not.

Also when I dismissed Ben from the job, materials (laths) I had already paid for were taken away from the site, which my new builder has requested be returned. As I had paid a deposit up front to cover the cost of materials they also failed to supply an adequate quantity of tiles to complete the work.

Due to the substandard workmanship, I wonder how many of the seven previous reviews on Trustpilot to date were from freinds or family? - Advise that if you see the name AquaSlate, don't engage, politely turn them away and close the door.

Within an hour of getting in touch about repairing my guttering Ben from Aquaslate came & within 15 minutes the job was completed at a very reasonable price I would definitely recommend this company 👌

Can't recommend this Company enough for their hard work...power washing, re sanding and resealing our drive to correct another company's terrible work. This was no easy task but they worked tirelessly to get it back to a brilliant finish. Very responsive and kept me informed every step of the way!

They were slower than others in quoting but worth the wait repaired our weather damaged ridge tiles good price and excellent job will use again

Thank you so much for cleaning and sanding our extensive block paving. It definitely had made a much needed improvement. A great team who worked hard to get the job completed, depending on the autumnal weather conditions. We would recommend the company.

Great trustworthy company. They replaced the roofing material on my kitchen extension in one and half days. (Even put up with a little rain). Made suggestions to improve run-off and did a superb job. Arrived as booked and cleared away all the old materials. Unreservedly recommended.

The guys did a fantastic job of clearing my guttering. Got the job done quickly and to a high standard. Would highly recommend.
