Not good value for money
Whilst the children had a lovely time, they came back with small, basic paintings they seemingly could have done in any childcare setting / at home. I had thought they wouild have been expose to using more mixed-media. For the price, and short duration, I didn't feel like it was worth it.

Thank you for your review, and it's great to hear the children had a lovely time. Clubs are registered with Ofsted, which not only assures you of the highest standards in child safeguarding, teaching and programme, but also means 20% with tax free childcare. There are multi-media in our term time sessions, which builds skills and techniques over time like learning any musical instrument or sport skill.

Disappointing GCSE sessions.
Concept of artK is good.
Hollie and Linda are lovely and very helpful.
Daughter found Kathryn (GCSE artK session) unkind, unapproachable and after upsetting her for the second time over two sessions she asked to leave and not enroll for the next term.

Thank you for taking the time to share your views on the last couple of weeks which we will reflect on. We're sorry to see your daughter go. Kathryn has been your daughters art teacher since 8 years old, and helped with art scholarships and more recently signed the DoE form to confirm teaching art skills. We regret the relationship broke down this way, but trust the memories and art work will be cherished. We know your daughter has a unique and high ability in art skills and we wish her every success and enjoyment using them into the future.
Wonderful art tuition, and fun!
My daughter has loved Art-K and has created some great works of art. The only thing stopping me from giving 5 stars is that it’s rather expensive, but tuition and materials are excellent from what I can tell (I only see the output!). My daughter’s always happy at the end of the session.

Great art class for budding artists!
My daughter has been doing Art-K for years and loves it. She’s done so many different art projects and has learnt lots of different techniques. A recent art exhibition of her class’ work was awesome! My daughter
loves it so much she does the holiday clubs too, and I think she’ll be a student with Art-K for years to come!

Fun and engaging art classes!
My daughter has been attending weekly Art K classes and holiday clubs for several years now and has always enjoyed it. Her love in art has continue to grow. The variety of art projects and techniques taught in Art K are always interesting and age appropriate. Linda and everyone in Art K Ashtead has always been lovely and helpful. Thank you for providing a creative space and nurturing environment for art learning.

Inspiring creativity in a wonderful environment.
Art-K is fabulous! My son has been attending weekly sessions for a few months and loves it. He’s not really into sports and any clubs he’s tried in the past have been short lived. However, he always looks forward to Art-K, even on a Friday after school. It really calms and relaxes him; it’s so fast- paced at school and there’s not much time for children to indulge in art, but here, my son can go at his own pace. He even asked for canvases for Christmas and will often draw/paint on them instead of going on his computer games!
My son has made quick progress learning how to blend water colours and I can’t wait to see his finished painting, inspired by Van Gogh! Linda and her team are always so welcoming and I love the vibe of the class. They have definitely worked their magic on my son. If you haven’t guessed already, I highly recommend giving it a try.

My sons really enjoys the sessions. Since the autumn term there doesn't seem to have been a 'large project' he's been working on that I'm aware of, just a series of smaller drawings/paintings with water colour.

Thank you for your very positive review, and also for raising your concern about completing a 'large project'. Our philosophy is to allow students to go at their own pace. This means that students sitting next to each other might take home very different amounts of art projects. We don't worry about this because ideas and creativity have no relation to the time, and pressure or deadlines reduce creativity. Doing projects faster is impressive, but may reduce the time for creativity to enter the finished art work. All the 'smaller projects' are what we call 'skill builders'. Although your son may be unaware what's happening, they are practising through repetition, art skills such as dexterity, seeing colour, blending etc. For more insight into the programme, please pop in after your sons session if you can for a more detailed discussion with the art leader. Or if logistics are tricky, write to ashtead@art-k.co.uk to suggest an alternative time/method of communication.

Not inclusive in any way, booked for my autistic 9 year old art lover, advised may need some time to adjust but would like to join after school club.
On collecting her was told she struggled the first hour but loved the second, unfortunately she can not go back as they want me to pay an extra £25 for a 1to1 that they need to train up!! on top of the £24 for the session so £49 a session plus pay 12 weeks upfront. I was quite willing to attend with her myself but not given that as an option.
They were happy to take the booking knowing child had special needs yet unable to cater for a child with special needs

Hi Carly and thank you for sharing your perspective on how the 2-hour workshop went. Our workshops are open to anyone to book and we will explore opportunities to help students settle in during this first session. Only after the event can we and parents know the it was a success to carry on.
We met you after this workshop to explain that we had not succeeded in gaining interest and engagement from your 9 year old (as you described them) and it was only viable through more dedicated resources. Every student pays the same amount and is entitled to roughly equal amounts of time and attention. Within reason, we are making adjustments every session because every child is an individual, and it allows us to welcome many students to art-K with and without diagnosis equally, who love art and engaged with our projects. All the time our staff are aiming to be as inclusive as possible within available resources.
Our child safeguarding policy does not allow parents into sessions for the reassurance of all parents that their children are safe in the hands of our vetted and highly trained staff. This policy and the behaviour policy are both published on our website and are consistent in supporting the service we aim to provide.

Art-K Ashtead is fantastic!
We feel very lucky to have Art-K in our village! My daughters are ages 6 and 8. They go weekly on Saturday mornings and they are always excited to go! It is a calm and relaxing environment for children after a busy week at school.
Linda and her team are very professional, warm and enthusiastic.
The children work on varied art projects and they are always very proud when they complete a project!
I highly recommend Art-K Ashtead!

Fabulous Art club with wonderful teachers
Both my girls attend Art K and love it. They come home with some amazing creations and are always so proud with them. I think it is a wonderful club and Linda and her team are always so friendly and helpful. I highly recommend this club during term time and as a holiday club.
