This review is for an 8-day Vietnam tour in March 2026. The planning and communications were great, and for the most part, the tour was very good. We upgraded to the 5-star accommodations and they were definitely VERY nice!
I’m giving it 4 stars instead of 5 because a few things weren’t quite as described in the itinerary. First, the day one drive to Sapa was listed as 5 hours but actually took closer to 7, which left us with very little time upon arrival. Our flight to Hue was also delayed, so we arrived very late and had no time at all for our first day there.
Additionally, a couple of specific experiences didn’t happen: we ate at a restaurant instead of in a local family home during the trekking tour, and we didn't get to help prepare the meal during the bike tour as expected (though the lunch provided by a local woman was nice). I also expected the bike tour to be in a more picturesque area.
As this was my first organized tour, I’ve learned to ask more specific questions and not plan so many heavy travel days next time. Overall, it was still a good experience, and Rachel was excellent to work with.

My wife Iris and I (Eli) travelled to Vietnam with Asia Pioneer. Our experience with Asia Pioneer was marvelous. We planned an 18-day tour of Vietnam which we extended to 22 days. The planning Stage with our agent Chloe Tran Was meticulous and full of helpful details. Ms. Tran tirelessly worked to design the right tours, hotels, activities, food based on dietary restrictions and leisure time. On the ground in Vietnam the delivery was superfluous. We were guided by consummate professionals, and all trips, hotels, transportation and guides were more than we could ever expect. When we ran into issues with our return journey Chloe and her team helped us in ways we could only characterize as amazing. We would fully recommend using Asia Pioneer for all our friends and family and we plan to call upon Chloe and the entire team again. Best trip ever!!

Chloe from Asia Pioneer Travel planned an extraordinary trip for my husband and myself to Thailand, Singapore, Vietnam, Cambodia, and Hong Kong. Everything went like clockwork-we had drivers/guides take us to and from the airports, help with visas needed, beautiful hotels, wonderful excursions, great pacing of the trip and daytrips arranged when we didn't have guides. Chloe booked all of our flights and checked us for each one the night before.
I usually plan our trips myself. I am very picky and detail oriented. Chloe was an excellent communicator and patiently answered my hundreds of picky questions. She was very committed to planning the trip of a lifetime for us. Chloe even met us at our hotel in Hanoi.
Our trip exceeded our expectations and we hope to use Chloe again to plan future travel. We have friends using Chloe for their trip next year and I would highly recommend her.

From the first contact during online search for a 5-6 day post-cruise tour of Thailand, Rachel Pham of Asia Pioneer Travel developed a very enjoyable experience in Thailand for my wife and I. She tailored a trip to suit our interests complete with lovely hotels, drivers, guides, domestic flights, staying in contact to insure our desires and needs were met. Only good things to say about Rachel and Asia Pioneer Travel.

Honestly I couldn’t imagine to receive a such fully trasparent and detailed organization in any time. As from first contact to last flight we received a step by step assistance from Rachel Pham our planner. We tasted an immersive knoledge of Vietnamese culture and delicious food tour. Hotel, transport, local guide well organized, and high professional level.
The tour was tailor made under Rachel management and local guides monitoring up to our satisfaction.

Asia Pioneer delivered on everything they had promised in their detailed itinerary that we received before we left Ireland. Winston was our main point of contact, and he dealt with us in a professional, efficient, and courteous manner throughout. We travelled from Hanoi, making our way south to Ho Chi Minh City before flying on to Cambodia for another 6 days. We used a private car throughout, with a driver and guide at every destination. Everything was top quality, and we enjoyed our trip very much. Although we are senior citizens, there was little, if any, stress. All the tours and hotels that Asia Pioneer recommended were top-class. We couldn't recommend Asia Pioneer enough and would certainly use them again if travelling in that region.

From the start, Winston of Asia Pioneer Travel was very helpful, knowledgeable,patient and went above and beyond what he promised and what we expected. He designed the travel plan per our requirements, time and needs, Winston was always available through Whatsapp or was just a phone call away.
The trip started from Hanoi, which included a chauffeured car AND an English speaking guide. The hotels booked were elegant and exquisite with exceptional staff and service. The details to which APT paid attention to, when it came to selecting the hotels was awesome.
At the middle of the trip, Vietnam was hit by a Typhoon and overnight, Winston changed our travel plan to a different direction of the country and we did not miss anything. He paid attention to our safety, and replanned our trip on a short notice, away from the Typhoon.
The English speaking guide, Jackie was great, full of historical facts and was flexible, adjusting the day plans to our wants and needs. He always told us to tell him if we wanted to do something that he did not let us know in the beginning of the day so that he can adjust the day plan. That was very nice of him.
Winston did not just plan the trip but also came to the hotel to check on us and inquire about the trip, We ended up having a nice chat for a longer time than expected.

We did a two week trip to Vietnam for our 25th wedding anniversary and we both can honestly say that we would not have changed a thing. Winston Dinh from Asia Pioneer Travel planned everything so perfectly, exactly to our wishes and what we discussed. This made us feel very heard, and he truly took everything into account that we mentioned. It was incredible.

This was one of the best trips we have ever taken. Everything was so well organized, everyone was so knowledgeable and kind, all the accommodations were top rate with amazing customer service, the food was wonderful, the tours and excursions gave us a wonderful glimpse into the beautiful country, and we met so many wonderful people along the way. We had a driver and tour guide for all the activities and it made everything very relaxing. Having everything planned out made the whole trip so enjoyable and stress-free.

We definitely hope to plan another trip through Asia Pioneer Travel again in the future, and highly recommend this company!

We were able to design our tour around our interests. It was worry free with airport pick up and drop off and with guides at each destination. Emmy also was available throughout our trip for any questions and concerns. We were well looked after.

Amazing experience with Asia Pioneer tour agency for the honeymoon trip planned for us. From beginning to the end we felt very pleased with the service and travel itinerary provided. Elly- our travel agent who tailored our tour as per the request and met us on one of the days and was lovely to receive kind gesture from her. All the stays were exceptional and the guides provided were friendly and knowledgeable. Considering the honeymoon trip and covering 4 locations within 7days it was very well planned and also flexible after the trip began. I have recommended my friends and family if they plan to travel in any Asian countries that they can cater to.

Starting in Hanoi and going on to Ninh Binh, Mai Chau, LAN Ha Bay, Hue, Hoi An, Tra Nhang , the Mekong delta and Ho Chi Minh City.

The standard of the cars, hotels, drivers and guides in the various places visited was top class and everything went seamlessly.

There was constant communication by WhatsApp from both Emmy and the guides.
We changed the itinerary a few times during the trip and these changes were handled flawlessly.

I would have no hesitation in recommending Asia Pioneer to any traveller looking for an easy visit to Vietnam or elsewhere in South East Asia.

On the trip itself we found Vietnam to be charming with great food and sights all over the country.

What a wonderful trip!!! Our travel specialists Maris worked with us to tailor a 2 week visit to Vietnam, Cambodia, and Thailand. Maris listened to our travel preferences and developed an itinerary that was perfect for us. We got to visit markets and cultural sites. We had wonderful experiences with all of our guides who made us feel like friends.
Part of what made it really special was Maris' attentiveness. She helped put us at ease by communicating with us so that we knew what to expect and were comfortable that all of the logistics had been handled. She even made the effort to meet us in person while we were in Hanoi.

Our experience with Rachel and Asia Pioneer Travel was fantastic! We were completely thrilled with the thoughtful, detailed and thorough planning and the fact that Rachel kept in touch with us every step of the way and was 100% on top of every wish and request we made along the way. She is simply the best. Our 21 day trip started in Ho Chi Minh City, then took us up the Mekong Delta into Cambodia. From there we travelled to Hanoi, HaLong Bay and back to Hanoi. Every driver was courteous and on time, every tour guide was knowledgeable and helpful and every vehicle was roomy, clean and comfortable. We particularly loved the boutique hotel - the Allure - in Hanoi, the pho lunch and the multi-course Vietnamese dinner; great choices that gave us a true appreciation for the vibrancy and cool vibe of Hanoi's Old Quarter. The excursions were the perfect length of time to experience them while allowing time to relax afterward. Our favorite part of our trip for relaxing was the Stellar of the Seas cruise Rachel booked for us. We were so impressed with the quality of the ship, the accommodations, the food and the staff, not to mention the incredible beauty of the bay and the limestone karsts, we elected to stay a 2nd night, and as Rachel did so many times for us, she smoothly adjusted our itinerary flawlessly. We can't recommend this agency enough - it delivered the experience of a lifetime. We will want to return to Vietnam to see Sapa, DaNang and Hoi An and when we do, Asia Pioneer Travel and Rachel specifically will be our first stop to plan the trip.

We are a couple in our 60s and Vietnam has always been on our bucket list.
Knowing very little about how, and where to travel, we researched many travel agencies to help us plan our trip of a lifetime. We settled on Asia Pioneer Travel. And more specifically, Rachel of Asia Pioneer.
We provided Rachel with ideas as to where we would like to travel and she put together an unbelievable in-depth itinerary.
Some of the regions we did want to see were unfortunately inundated with heavy rainfall. No Robles though. We contacted Rachel and she went to work (in record time I might add), and with our input, she provided great alternatives.
In all, we changed our itinerary 3-4 times. The changes were mostly the result of talking with other travellers visiting areas that peaked our interest. For example, we asked Rachel to book us a two day (one night) cruise in Lan Ha Bay. Once on the cruise, we realized that two days were not nearly enough to take in the absolute beauty of the region. One quick message to Rachel via WhatsApp and within literally an hour, she was able to cancel some of our itinerary (hotels, drivers), and secured another night on the cruise ship.
Rachel’s English speaking g and communication skills are impeccable. In addition, she would always be available at any ti e of the day via WhatsApp (phone or text).
Meeting up with Rachel in Hanoi was the “icing on the cake”! She is truly genuine and it is very evident to see that she only wants the best for her clients. Each and every time we changed our itinerary, Rachel would provide an incredible and thorough updated schedule. Our tour also included private drivers to bring us to different venues and regions.
In my honest opinion, we could not have experienced such a wonderful tour without the help of Rachel of Asia Pioneer. She did it all for us, from booking and canceling planes and hotels at our request, to site seeing, cruises, recommended dinners, etc. All very favourable, and surprisingly at very little cost.

Just back from an incredible trip through Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos and Thailand. Itinerary put together with Asia Pioneer Travel which included every type of transport, food and experience we could wish for.
Winston, our travel consultant put together an excellent trip, each day there was at least one highlight which we will remember forever, no mean feat for a months trip! We felt really well looked after and safe whilst still having authentic experiences. The guides and drivers were brilliant and made sure we had cold water and towels during and after sightseeing which was very much appreciated in the heat. Winston checked in on us most days.
Booking with a local travel company meant that last minute, unforseen itinerary changes (due to a typhoon) was dealt with in minutes with no lost time in the holiday, new hotels booked and new experiences arranged. Much appreciated.
I did Google and check the company on the Vietnam business and also travel agency registers so was happy that everything was as it should be.
The company surpassed our expectations.
