I would like to share my experience to help other travellers.

I purchased two Acropolis Museum tickets through Athens Tickets for €72. After receiving the confirmation, I discovered that the tickets had been issued for 4 August 2026, even though our travel itinerary was for a later date.

We contacted customer support immediately after discovering the problem, well before the visit date, requesting either a date change or a refund. Our request was refused without any flexibility.

As a result, we lost the full amount and now have to purchase another set of tickets.

I also noticed that the official value of the museum tickets was €20 per person, while we paid a total of €72 through this reseller.

If you decide to use this website, I strongly recommend checking every detail of the booking before completing the payment and comparing the price with the official ticket office.

In our case, customer support was not willing to offer any practical solution, even though the tickets could never be used.

We could not access the ticket from the email that was sent so had to buy at the kiosk, which was less than half the price. I emailed Athenstickets for a refund and no response.

Don’t know if this is a scam site, but they are either incompetent, unscrupulous or both.

DO NOT USE FOR ACROPOLIS BOOKING tickets. Booking process very poor, left us hanging, booked a second set of tickets to get in the queue. When we contacted them to get refund for the first set no response. Further they charged us for our kids we should have go free. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. The website is a SCAM. It’s a shame as we enjoyed the city.

We bought two tickets for the Acropolis Museum with an audio guide through Athens Tickets for €89. When we arrived, we found out that tickets at the museum cost only €20 per person, and the audio guide was free.

We could have paid just €40 instead of €89, saving €49. The high markup was not made clear on the website, and we feel the price was completely unjustified. We recommend buying directly from the museum instead.

Wij hadden tickets gekocht voor een bepaalde datum en tijd voor de Acropolis. Toen we eindelijk aan de beurt waren na heel lang in de rij te hebben gestaan bleken de tickets verlopen. De datum op de ticket stond op onze aankoopdatum en niet op de dag die we hadden geboekt. We mochten dus niet naar binnen en moesten buiten blijven staan. Van een afstandje de Acropolis gezien. Bedrijf heeft geen telefoonnummer en alleen mail maar reageert nergens op. 130,- weggegooid dus. SCAM DUS!!!!

We were very disappointed with this experience.

The ticket was advertised as if it provided a different category of access to the Parthenon and Acropolis, but when we arrived we discovered that everyone who purchased the official €30 entrance ticket had access to exactly the same archaeological site. There was no added value or exclusive access whatsoever.

The package also claimed to include an audio guide. However, no activation link, app instructions or access code were sent to us before our visit. As a result, we spent a considerable amount of time trying to figure out how to use something we had already paid for.

To make matters worse, we later realized that free audio content is already available on-site through the official information and signage, making the paid “audio guide” even more misleading.

In the end, we paid almost twice the official ticket price without receiving any meaningful additional benefit. The product description created expectations that were simply not met.

We strongly recommend that the seller clearly explains exactly what is included and avoids presenting standard admission and publicly available information as premium extras. Unfortunately, we cannot recommend this experience.

It looks like this Company has an official rolle to sell tickets for museums, but they charge almost 100% fee for the purchase of tickets without any notice to the consumer in advance. If you buy from the official pages of the museums you do the same «work» but do not have to pay the fee.

Absolute scam. We paid 50€ more than the official site quotes - they’ve even presented themselves like an authentic/ govt owned website so it’s easy to get fooled.

We contacted them for a refund - and now they have vanished.

After paying extra, their audio guide also didn’t work.
Please avoid at all costs.

Almost a scam, the price is way more than the original and I want to have my 23.80 euro back.

A shame

Scam site! Ordered two tickets and they came with different dates.

This site is an absolut scam, it tries to look as an official site but it is not. 5 of us payed 190 for tickets and audio guide, while directly at the acropolis was 60 and audio guide was free. In my case I couldn’t find my tickets between the emails, they promise you if in the case of having any problem with tickets you can present yourself with the reservation number at the ticket office and they will give you your tickets it’s a LIE !!! Nobody cares about their booking number and nobody knows about it. I had to buy my new tickets again. At their site there is no phone number or chat to contact them in the case that something is not going well. Only email … of course they answer 1 day later, not at the moment !!!!

Despite my usual vigilance, I sadly was scammed by this company. It is very convincing and their misrepresentation and false advertising mislead you to believe this is the official site. IT IS NOT. They are an absolute scam. They charge you 50%+ on the face value of the tickets and charge for children's tickets when they are free. Worse, I never received one of the tickets. Avoid this group like the plague, but also please report them if you are a victim: You can easily search for the emails of the Ministry of Culture and Cyber Crimes Unit in Greece.

Do not use them, overpriced and they sell you the audioguide ( no possibility to not buy it).
You pay but it is just a tentative of booking, in our case the ticket were sold out.
So no visit and because they said that the audioguide is from another provider they dont refund that.
18 euro for nothing

Fraud :/ I got ripped off €15 by these scammers.

Caution, this site is pure fraud. Thanks to the high Google ranking and the name it shall look like an official site on a quick view. It charges enormous additional cost for absolutely nothing.

There is no way to put 0 star but that's what they should get..
The price of the tickets for 2 adults and 2 children should have been 60 euros and they made us pay 136 euros.

We visited Acropolis in Athens in Feb 2025 and decided to purchase our tickets online. Among the many sites available, the athenstickets.org seemed fine and trustworthy, but turns out they are NOT. The official site for Acropolis tickets seems to actually be hhticket.gr and we warmly suggest using the official site. athenstickets.org charged us 70 eur for tickets that actually cost only 20 (seems as if at least in the winter EU Adults cost 10eur each and <25 year olds are free). These prices are also seen on the tickets we received for athenstickets.org, which means that they charged our credit card 70 euros and then sent us tickets and receipts for only 20 eur. Their customer service is fast enough and they claimed that they have a service fee in order to provide the possible support and convenience :), but that doesn't really justify charging 50 eur extra and in addition also sending receipts that do not include this so called service fee. We ended up reporting the site to the Greek tax authorities for suspected tax-fraud, since we fear that they may not report our payment in full in their bookkeeping. It also feels untrustworthy to buy something and then get a receipt for a much lesser sum.

We suggest you stay well clear of this site and purchase your tickets from the official hhticket.gr instead, since there you will be charged only the actual price for your tickets.

Remember also to bring you ID/Passport also for any kids that you travel with as you need to prove your identity on entry to Acropolis.

As for the site itself we warmly recommend it as does probably everyone who has ever been there!
