I have now been working with Autotech…
I have now been working with Autotech for the best part of 5 years now, their is always a great selection of opportunities & my consultant Stuart always answers & sorts out any queries I may have. The work I have got has been local to myself which is what I like. I have recieved hybrid electric training & mot training by Autotech aswell. If anyone is considering freelance, I would recommend. Central Scotland area 🏴

Great opportunities for local Tech placements
Been a very good option for me after over 15 years away from the industry to pick up some regular local work when I am looking to stay home from the offshore environment.
Autotech and Stuart have been easy to deal with and very professional with each and every placement they have given me .

Been working for autotech for a good few years now. I mainly deal with Stuart who is an absolute credit to autotech. Hes always available when needed, answers any questions, supportive, knowledgable and the main thing for me is his honesty especially when work might be getting quiet (which cant be said about other agencys who will promise you the world to get you on board and then let you down.) However the man somehow always manages to pull something out the bag when its quiet. He even worked over a weekend trying to sort me a contract after mine got cancelled late on a friday and he had me organised to start in a new place on the monday. This will be my 4th year with autotech and ive never been without work, never had any issues with payments, my timesheet in on the monday and the money is in the bank friday. Im currently working a 4 day 40 hour week and theyre really flexable with it when needed to accomodate childcare. They made a large contribution towards my mot testers course and organised my level 3 EV training free of charge. Would recommend any tech or tester who fancied a shot of agency to work with autotech.

Second to none !!

poor communication
I applied for an MOT position and completed all required steps, including submitting documents and three references. Sadly, no one contacted me afterward and I received no updates.
Recruiters should keep candidates informed, even if they’re no longer being considered.

Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback. We're sorry that you feel you weren’t kept updated, so we’ve reviewed the full communication history to make sure we’re being absolutely fair and transparent.
From that review, it’s clear that our resourcer was in consistent contact with you throughout the process. She responded promptly, acknowledged every message, and provided regular updates across Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, including a follow‑up on Saturday so you knew exactly where things stood. At no point were your messages left unanswered.
It’s also important to clarify the timeline. We were only able to begin your references once your MOT tester CPD and qualification evidence arrived on Wednesday afternoon. From there, we had less than two working days before the week ended. During that time, several attempts were made to contact your referees. Some were unreachable, and others couldn’t be independently verified, which meant they didn’t meet the compliance standards we are required to uphold.
We cannot move forward without two fully verifiable professional references. That’s a responsibility we take seriously, and it applies to every candidate we register.
Because we haven’t been able to secure the necessary references, we won’t be progressing your registration. We do want to thank you for the time you’ve invested, and we wish you well with your future opportunities.

Amazing company to work with.
I am currently working as a contractor with Autotech, and this is my fourth year with the company, so this review is long overdue. From day one, everyone at Autotech has been extremely helpful, guiding me and finding me excellent contracts at both main dealers and independent garages. This has allowed me to continue developing my skills as a mechanic and stay up to date as the industry evolves.
After my first year, I was given free Electric/Hybrid vehicle training at the training center, something I was refused at my previous job and for that I am very grateful to Autotech.
I would especially like to thank Ollie, who has supported me from the very beginning. He spent a great deal of time on the phone explaining everything when I first joined and has continued to support me over the last four years by consistently finding me excellent contracts. I have never been without work, and in my opinion, he is one of the best. It’s an absolute pleasure to work with him. Thank you, Ollie.
I’d also like to thank Jason, who is always available and ready to help. Both Jason and Ollie have also assisted in enrolling other contractors I have recommended to Autotech.
Overall, Autotech is, in my opinion, a fantastic place for any mechanic looking to work in an environment where respect, guidance, and excellent opportunities are provided.

Straightforward to Work With as a Contractor
I work as an independent contractor and receive regular work from Autotech. Communication is clear, jobs are well organised, and expectations are set upfront. Best company I’ve ever worked for in the motor trade over the last 13 years from the very beginning to currently. One of my closest friends has worked for Auto tech for the last 6 years and I joined after all the good feedback and praises from him. The wages are unmatched and flexible hours and work calendar is amazing!
