Baffin won't acknowledge clear defects in their products

As with many others, and documented on numerous review sites, Baffins "Yellowknife design" boots, with the stitching between the rubber and fabric, is highly flawed and they refuse to acknowledge this. After only wearing them a dozen times, and on both feet, split in almost exactly the same way.

I've gone through 2 pairs of these boots (my retailer offered to swap them the first time). The first was the 2024-25 winter season and the second was the 25-26 season. I then contacted customer service, provided photos and they determined, I quote: "After carefully reviewing the photos of your boots, we’ve determined that the issue is due to normal wear and tear rather than a manufacturing defect." This is 100% false and, if it's true, their warranty clearly establishes that less than a season of wear is normal for this to happen.

But don't take my word for it, this is well documented online. Search for reviews of the boots and you will see multiple cases of the exact same defect and similar responses from Baffin.

My toes got cold wearing Baffin Snow Monster boots on frozen ground in 9-degree weather. Very disappointing!

I was really excited to wear my new Baffin Snow Monster boots. They felt comfortable in the store, and I believed they would keep my feet very warm. However, after only wearing them 2 times, I have learned that they do NOT keep my toes very warm. I found that not only surprising, but VERY disappointing. I suspect they have very little insulation in the sole of the boot, but instead make an attempt to keep your toes away from the cold ground using simply they insulated liner, but that proved to be insufficient when standing on frozen ground for 2 hours with an outside temperature of 9-degrees Fahrenheit. They are probably better than most, but not nearly good enough. I'm very disappointed.

In many cases, warmth can be affected by factors such as fit, sock choice, circulation, and activity level. Our multi-layer liner systems work by trapping and regulating warm air — if the boot fits too snugly, or if airflow is restricted, it can reduce the insulating performance, especially during extended periods of standing still on frozen ground.
While SNOW MONSTER is built for cold environments, customers who spend long durations stationary in very low temperatures sometimes find that a Polar Rated style — designed for more extreme and prolonged exposure — better suits their needs.

Nice to get them

There great on all year round best rubber boots soft big socks they have and good on hiking and on rain or winter I like them

Baffin boots fell APART after only a few uses.

Bought a pair of Baffin boots. They were warm and comfortable. Wore them 8 times and then the bottoms started coming off. One came completely off before I got home. I communicated with the company, and they kept telling they needed more pictures. They requested some of the same pictures multiple times. After many weeks of emails and sending many pictures, they finally said they would not replace them and offered me a discount on another pair of boots. Why would I buy another pair when the first pair fell apart. I do not believe they ever intended to replace my boots. The emails were just a deceptive practice to show effort but never actually considered replacing the defective boots. Shady, deceptive company. Avoid this brand if you need reliable footwear.

a…worst service ever

i placed an order 06 01 2025 and got a nice tracing from china , but no goods delivered, so following costumer service i reordered, same story again. After waiting i was given the option of reordering or demand a refund. I asked for a refund and was told it should come within a week ,AFTER 2 WEEKS NOTHING

Poor quality - brand name price; second hand store quality

Nice design; good and comfortable fit. but - flawed design. YELLOWKNIFE | Men's Boot $190.00 CAD

The two levels of stitching is just for gimmick. the top leather part started to separate from the bottom rubber in one season. At this price range - one would expect a better quality.

Initially, I have written the review on the Baffin site. I received and email to confirm my address - fine - but interestingly - the review was never made public. This is definitely one way to ensure reviews are either fully positive, or have only minor complain about the fit. shame.

January 3, 2025 update - Baffin website still does not show my review - and no response from their customer service. Buyers beware - if you see only positive reviews on the company website - it may be like Baffin - censoring all negative ones. It is one thing to have a defective product - it is another to pretend it is all perfect.

Great products, gotta work on the customer service

***Update*** ended up emailing the marketing division. They looked into the no communication issue and i ended up getting the hat. Its a beauty too. Issue resolved. Thanks for the response. Updating the review.

**Previous review**No customer service. Products are top notch. I'd consider doing 3rd party buying vs dealing with baffin.com directly. I emailed them 3 times about an order, it's been a month and I've heard nothing. Unacceptable.

These are quality products

These are quality products. What they state about their products are true. I will always purchased for now on. This year I purchased the womans impact and the escalate. What they claim is true. Worth every penny.

Not a long lasting product

No grip on ice surfaces and feet gets very cold.

I bought a pair of boots called Yellowknife on 2022. Baffin has a good reputation for winter boots so I can only review these ones. My feet got very cold, can feel almost every rock on the floor and already felt on the ground. It’s not even mids on winter in Toronto, Canada. It seems waterproof is the only advantage
It’s disappointing after researching for a reliable brand and these shoes are not to be trusted.

Baffin Icebreaker Boot

Recently purchased the icebreaker model. I snow plow, and I am in and out of the truck. Very comfortable boot. Kept my feet warm out of the truck, yet my feet didn't overheat when in the truck.

Awful people to work for!!!

Awful people to work for!!!! This company hired someone I know through a temp services, and let them go after 2 shifts saying "wasn't a good fit" ????? What the @$#! does that even mean? And how can that be decided in 2 days? I worked with said person at another company and I found them an amazing, dedicated, very hard worker.
Not to mention, the employees at Baffin work a 9 hr shift and are only given 2 20 minute breaks. In my opinion my friend git lucky being let go.
