Many of the documents were very old and required some serious chasing down (including very old birth and marriage certificates from the 1940s and earlier), and Mr. Orbidans was able to help us find them, get them authenticated, and put together into a complete application package. I initially sought to handle the citizenship process on my own, but as someone who is located in the United States, I found the process a bit difficult to manage, which is why I enlisted the help of Baltic Migration. I did have some concerns about paying for services for a company I was unfamiliar with and which is located outside of the US, but I verified the organization via TrustPilot, which helped assuage my fears. Once I began working with the Baltic Migration team, however, I found everyone to be exceptionally professional and helpful.

With regard to timeframe, every case is different, but mine took just under a year. I enlisted the firm's help in January 2023 and just got my citizenship letter on 4th December. Your case my take less time, but I think that's a good estimate of what to expect.

I worked with my attorney Richard Orbidans, who answered every question I had and handled all of the paperwork, research, and communications with the Citizenship Ministry. Our interactions were all via email and I had no problem reaching Mr. Orbidans or confirming any information or resolving and queries.

As for any advice to new applicants, I would say that the process is quite easy overall especially insofar as the firm handles of the legwork to get your application across the finish line, thereby saving you hours of time and frustration. If I had to do this process all over again, I would still work with Richard, but I would say to ask more questions than you may think you need to. Have all of your paperwork handy at the outset and if you don't have certain documents, tell the firm right away what you do/don't have, so that if you need to request these yourself or if they're needed from the Latvian Archives, you can save yourself some weeks in the process.

Overall, highly recommend with no reservations whatsoever! I am very pleased.

Just got our citizenship acceptance letters back and we are very excited! The Baltic Migration team was very responsive and helpful with a complex application for a family of 3 - Dad, 16 & 13 year old. They guided us through the Apostille process with various countries involved. FYI it took over a year but it required a lot of document preparation. Can be a little scary sending money for services at a distance (we are in the US) but it all worked out well!

We originally reached out to Baltic Migration to test our eligibility for Latvian citizenship in November 2022. We found the team to be very responsive to our initial request. We were given clear instruction about the first stage of the assessment process and what documents we needed to assemble. It was determined that we had a good case and valid documents that could be assessed for citizenship so Richard and his team provided us with the details for the next, and final stage of the process. Richard and his team made the process incredibly simple for us, they completed the forms in Latvian so we simply had to supply evidence of our identity (and ancestral connection to Latvia), sign the documents and send them back to Richard. We received the news on 26 September 2023 that we have been granted citizenship so we are now pursuing the passport application process locally. We are incredibly grateful to Richard and his team for making the process so easy and supporting us through the administrative requirements.
