Good experience, the bag was exactly as described

Perfect bag for what I was looking for. Great for longer walks where you need to carry a little extra (sunglasses, keys, hubby's wallet). Only problem I have was the strap. I'm quite short, its very long - it is adjustable, but the it 'slipped' a little as I walked. I've now velcroed it in place and this seems to be working well.

I've been looking at these bags for a while and recently took the plunge and ordered one. Obviously everyone has different priorities for their equipment but these are my opinions based on my experience of being a professional dog trainer and having worked with dogs for over 35 years.
I bought the bag for carrying stuff while walking my retired working dog (a 42kg GSD/Dutch Herder cross). Although he's nearly ten he's still very active and we go hill walking a lot (when I carry a rucksack for my waterproofs, kit and his stuff) but I wanted something for shorter walks round our local area. I'd previously been using a Von Wolf treat bag on a belt which was big enough for carrying some treats, poo bags and putting slobbery toys in when he decides he doesn't want to carry them anymore. This has worked really well but has a couple of disadvantages which I hoped the Barking Bag would overcome.
First impressions were that the Barking Bag was pretty sturdy but quite heavy with metal clips and D rings for the shoulder strap. The poo bag holder dispenser works quite well and the main pouch is big enough for my lightweight Goretex jacket to fit in (handy on those days when you're not sure what the weather has in store). The drawstring mesh pocket is good for toys and putting used poo bags in until you find a bin. The water bottle pocket is probably going to be of limited value for me as I'd not be using this bag on a long walk (preferring a rucksack instead). The two clips are also of limited use to me and rattle annoyingly as I walk along. I've negated this issue by tucking them inside the small pocket but that means I can't use it for hand sanitiser as I'd intended. I don't see me using the clips but if you use a clicker one of them would be handy for that I suppose. The belt clips work quite well but because the bag is quite heavy and large enough to put a few things in it tends to pull my belt and trousers down as I'm walking along. I'd definitely prefer a 2.5 cm belt with Fastex buckles like my Von Wolf bag has and will modify the Barking Bag to work that way. The shoulder strap is also of little value to me although I understand many people will like it. I wish that the flap that goes over the top of the bag was larger allowing the zip pocket on it to be made larger as well. I've put treats in there but if it were bigger I'd probably use it for my phone instead which would be handy.
So overall I'd say this is a decent bag, quite expensive for what it is and a bit gimmicky for my usage but I'm sure it'll be handy for when I want more storage than the Von Wolf bag but less than a rucksack.

I ordered a bag to take on holiday. I wanted to be able to take all my stuff and the dog stuff in one bag. The bag is beautifully made and had loads of pockets to keep keys, tablets, dogs treats, poo bags etc. However, to be honest I'm not that keen on handbags and found it a little annoying across my chest - I would rather have a rucksack type bag but would love it to be the size of this bag with all the pockets and storage this one has.

It is very well made of sturdy navy waterproof material.
I chose this bag because it is bigger than the smaller bag that I use. The side pockets are perfect for carrying a water bottle on either side, one for me and one for my wee dog, Cora. We go for hill walks and this will be perfect, There’s plenty room for everything.
Very impressed, would definitely recommend this bag if you’re looking for a well made dog bag.

Lovely and sturdy with good D rings for clipping extras onto.

The quality of the bag is good but I find the shoulder strap slips too easily. I also struggle getting the shoulder padding in the correct place. The metal catches do not always secure fully when the main compartment is closed

Quick, clear un-sales-biased answers to my questions.
Bag arrived quickly and was everything I had hoped for and more. A fantastic, comfortable to carry bag, tough, water proof which has all the room I need for everything I take - that's two water bottles, his treats, my treats, phone, half his dinner (only way to get him to eat enough) alarm, poop bags, spare collar nightlight, torch and there is still a little room left for when I want to take a sandwich! So light and easy to wear, the strap sits comfortably on the shoulder so no rubbing. Worth every penny. Maybe best of all, it will obviously last - even with our walks - scrambles and pushing through buses and brambles. Thank you Barking Bags people, great to have such quality and for such a reasonable price.

As an update, I am struggling to believe that I wrote a review based on fact and issues that I have had with your bags and your customer service team has provided a return response basically stating that Barking Bags rating is 4.8/5.0 and therefore the company is great and if I have a problem contact Customer Service. The most expensive of the bags I purchased was the black leather which I expected to last quite a while. The D-clips fell off within a few months and I didn't even use them. Then, the side bags did not prove sturdy enough to carry the items that Barking Bags advertises the bag should be used for (small toys, water bottle). If you don't wish to have an honest assessment of your bag, please don't send me the multiple requests for reviews that I always receive and please don't respond to my review with silly comments like "contact Customer Service". We are both aware that you don't do anything and will give me the response that the bag has been used.

I have had 3 of these bags in 3 years and am once again looking for another dog walking bag. I always end up going back to this bag because on the positive side, the size of the bag and its many pockets works well, at least when the bag is new. But the quality of the bag leaves a lot to be desired. My first bag was black leather. Within 6 months the D clips on the front fell off and the tabs that held them broke. In time, the pockets on the side wore out and were no longer useable. At Christmas time this year, I bought the original camo bag which has faded on my new yellow dog walking coat and the stain does not come out when washed. Also, the strap does stay at its chosen length, which is really irritating when handling two young dogs and managing leads, etc. really, disappointing.

The customer service at Barking Bags is the best I have ever experienced. Lois was prompt and courteous in her reply to my query and sent further emails which served to both resolve the issue to my satisfaction and make me feel reassured that I was an important customer. The service I received went above and beyond and I’ll definitely be buying more products from the company and recommending them to friends. Thank you Lois - a credit to Barking Bags.
