Something unique and exciting
I'm not in any way a whiskey aficionado or connoisseur. I enjoy certain spirits (like Kahlua, Lochanora, etc) and fortified wines and ports for sure. When it comes to Whiskey, I enjoy drinking it both neat or mixed. I don't have extensive experience with other whiskey's (what I have in my cupboard right now is Glenfiddich (12 and 15), Glenlivet 12 and everyday Dimple blend. What I enjoyed about Baroque was that it was entirely enjoyable to drink on it's own. Simple as that. No ice, and I started with a dash of water but now I have it with no water.
The particular product that I had (I've finished it now and can't remember what it was called) was part of a very limited collection, and was from a US barrel. There was an "under tone" in the flavour that was curious, and it had a depth and smoothness to the texture AND the flavour that I found interesting and enjoyable to taste. It lingered on the palate and I found was just a lovely evening companion to take my time with and enjoy while watching my favourite shows.
For someone of my experience, the "potency" and strength was something that I had to get used to, but now I enjoy this experience and growing into it, rather than the everyday swill that I had become accustomed to. Sensational, and this will be my go-to Whiskey from now on, and I'll look forward to sampling other products from Baroque. Cheers!
