ill Factor (Ivan Corraliza) is a great mentor and tutor and he has put together a wonderful platform where you can learn everything you need for a successful music career whatever your style.

The Instructional/How To and Breakdown videos are filled with endlessly useful tips and tricks on top of core skills which will last you a lifetime.

There is a great community with lots of peer support and encouragement and there are regular opportunities posted to submit your work for consideration in national and international projects.

I genuinely believe this may be the only resource you need to elevate your music to places higher than you've imagined.

I have been a Beat Academy member for over 3 years and I have enjoyed the experience so far. I have a full time job and my time for music is limited but having the resources always available I have been coming back to review the materials and improving my production skills at my own pace.

The community is one of the big reasons why being a member is worth it. If you put in the work and the time you will find a great place to share and grow, among the BA team and the BA members you will find people with different skill levels and at different stages of their production journeys but all sharing the eagerness to improve and learn. I find is easy to connect and collaborate with others.

Since I joined this community I passed from being a bedroom musician to play live and release music. I have had the pleasure of personally connecting with Ill and the team and I can confidently say they care about the users and go out of their way to bring the most value and help them in achieving their goals.

If you are passionate about music and want to learn from industry professionals I would defenitely recommend to check out BA.

Beat Academy provide a lot of good music production courses and in addition a platform with challenges, networking, opportunities... It's great for people who want to contantly hone their skills and also make connections...

I had looked at some other music websites before and they were good, but I didn't hang with them. I came across Beat academy through a web search, signed up and have stuck with it since. Ivan is a very competent producer and a great teacher to go with it. I love his monthly song critique meets on line. whether your song or others are critiqued, I always learn a lot stuff I can be aware of and take to my own music. Ivan is passionate about what he does, loves encouraging people and is never disrespectful to any one. He is also honest and holds you to industry standards.
the community is great to hang out with and is another source to encourage and receive encouragement from peers.
B.A also provides opportunities to take on projects, collaborations and some professional opportunities.
I could go on, but I don't want to write a novel.
I would point any one who is serious about music production to sign up to Beat Academy.

Great online music production academy, I learnt a lot with ill Factor, leading to official releases on streaming platforms. A lot of valuable tips and tricks, disseminated along very well structured courses, on a professional platform. Topics are covering all aspects producers must know if we are serious about it, without to say his great coaching skills making things easy to understand. :-) I could have never made it so far without Beat Academy!

Beat Academy has been a great platform to improve my production skills as well as my network. I've found multiple collaborators there. The Elevate program has been super helpful as well. The classes vary from fairly simple concepts (like sample selection) to more advanced topics (like mixing/mastering and the business side of making music) allowing for participants at all levels to benefit from the program - although I would say beginners and intermediates might benefit a bit more. Personally, I felt that the program helped shift my mindset a bit, and I have honestly not felt as productive and confident in my productions before as I feel now. I'd recommend anyone that is willing to invest in their craft and (future) career to join the program.

I really appreciate Beat Academy and the community. The instruction is excellent and having a community to bounce thoughts and questions off of is really great. Additionally the challenges constantly give me something to strive for. Really happy to be part of this community.

First and foremost, I will speak very honest about my experience with this education site. All of my statements are in my own opinion and I will speak about the pros and cons of what I have experienced. I do not mean to praise or speak hurtful. I understand it takes a lot of hard work and effort to create such a platform.

The platform is designed very well. Navigation of the website is very intuitive. There is a lot of content for educational viewing. The majority of the content is geared towards new production students.
The content is delivered in a clean and highly professional manor. The material is delivered into easily digestible portions of knowledge. The topics discussed are relevant and current to the trends followed in the music industry.

This platform is trying to provide 3 services.

The first being music production education.
The second being a place to network with other likeminded producers.
The third being a location to give professional opportunities to songwriters.

I’ve been producing music for about 13 years, primarily for pleasure. I have been hired by several artists to write material for their EP’s. I am by no means a great producer.

My main concern with this site is that minimal content is added to the platform. I have been a member for 5 months and the “Library” content does not have any new additions. I do see “free” YouTube content regularly added posted. I do understand that the “Free” YouTube videos will provide advertising to promote the website, but this will be at the cost of students suffering. This is because the students cost of tuition is not being validated.

So this is where I think, is this an educational site or a networking platform? I believe that this is a networking platform. If this was purely an educational platform there would be assignments, quizzes, daily tips, a learning path to follow, etc.…

When I hire a private instructor I expect there is accountability on both parties. The teacher produces a lesson plans and provides assignments per lesson. The student is accountable for completing the work before moving on to the next lesson. To make a long story short… Watching instructional videos will not help if there is no homework for the student to build the skill set. Can you imagine taking a math class and never been given homework to verify you can do the work? Maybe in the courses, assignments are provided in each section and the students can upload it to the forum for peer review??? Then the student can have feedback on what they have learned in each lesson.

Challenges are a great concept, which can help to motivate students. You may want to create challenges that are tailored to specific courses in the Beat Academy library. Like a Mixing Challenge, or a Topline writing challenge, Drum Programming challenge, Ivan provides the melody & the student creates the chord progression or bass line… This way you can focus the knowledge taught and redirect it into an assignment to validate the knowledge has been learned. There is so much knowledge to be learned to create a full compete song. These types of micro-challenges will probably help to increase the morale of your students and their skill sets.

I believe Beat Academy shines as a networking platform. There are people with great personality’s as students, conversations are very tactful. Honest feedback is given on uploaded songs and WIP’s. The Live calls should occur twice per month, limited to 5-7 submissions (First Come First Serve).

The process allows Ivan to listen to the entire song and provide criticism. If the song gets scrubbed through… then there is no need for professional criticism. It has already been delivered by ignoring sections of the song. This is very important to your students. I’ve been teaching guitar for more than 2 decades. If I were to leave the room during an adjudication or pick up my phone…. then the student already knows how I feel about the performance. It may be difficult to listen to a newcomer’s productions, but they are paying for your professional advice. Teachers are there for guidance & feedback; students do the real work.

I hope this review helps. I think the Beat Academy is great website. I’m just confused about the websites vision. I would definitely recommend this site to new producers and to those who are looking to network with others.

I love Beat Academy! The community is constantly growing and learning how to serve each other better. There are always new breakdowns, challenges, and the membership is genuinely engaged in trying to support each other. The community is well moderated and sets values of respect, encouragement, trust, and growth. 10/10 community and content.

They cultivate a great community of eager, kind artists who are hungry to make themselves better. It doesn't break the bank. And you get some hands on time with a legend.

elevate program is a good opportunity to revisit the basics and get valuable feedback on your beats while staying accountable for several months and learning something new every week! thanks ivan and the team!

I'm an Elevate alumni who has just finished the course. I joined all the classes through the recorded streams.

Here is what you will learn from the course - mixing, mastering, vocal production, sound selection, being true to your own artist DNA, and sync placements. Most of the topics they talk about are not very in depth, except for mastering as one of the guest speakers would sometimes get a little technical (in a good way!), but other than that the topics were quite surface.

Who is it made for - while everyone can get something out of the course, the ones who will benefit most would definitely be beginners and beginner intermediates.

What I enjoyed most - to be fair, I did not submit any songs during Elevate as I was preoccupied with other music stuff / life stuff. But having watched every recording, I liked that Ivan encouraged every classmate to keep making progress on a song every week. I also liked how there were office hours so that you will listen to feedback from Ivan not just on your song, but your classmates' songs as well. Most of my classmates' songs are quite good as well, with some of their levels ranging from intermediate to advanced. I also very much enjoyed the guests that Ivan invited to the course, the guests tend to be specialised and are experts in what they do, whether it was mixing, mastering, or vocal production. Ivan himself is very positive and friendly and professional, everyone will like him as a person and as a mentor.

The whole Elevate Music Program is Fantastic. I love the fact that there are Weekly Tasks / Live Calls / Catch Ups / Feedback Sessions. Even though each student is at a different level / stage of their Music Production skill-set, journey - the whole program is very beneficial and well put together. I believe that Each student has a unique need - and teacher ill Factor is understanding and really helpful and is accommodating. He genuinely cares about how to take your music to the next step moving forward. His teaching style is awesome and is one of a kind. The professional guest speakers that took part and provided advice / feedback were great too. I Highly Recommend! Trust me on this. Leeyah :-).

If you are in need of learning how to produce your own music, this is among the best resources out there for a good value.
The ELEVATE program especially was well worth the money.

This was honestly a life changing course. Even for someone like me with no prior experience other than having scraps of songs in my voice notes. I learned so much from songwriting to mastering and everything in between. The most fundamental form of wealth is the human mind. To be able to have access to and learn from a wealthy mindset such as ill Factor's is priceless. ill Factor is an excellent teacher, patient, always inspiring, highly knowledgable, and highly skilled in his craft. I learned so much from hearing people with great talent and seeing how people earlier in their journey grew. I feel like I'm Batman now, equipped with a utility belt, bat jet, bat mobile, and bat cave. ill Factor and everyone here with their wealthy mindsets was like swimming around Scrooge McDuck's money bin for three months. In other words I in turn became enriched by learning from all these wealthy minds. I learned things I wouldn't have been able to learn myself because I didn't have their insights, knowledge, or experience. I'm very excited indeed for my continued journey.

Beat Academy is awesome! I started as a regular member and went on to the Elevate course. At first I didn't want to invest in myself but my family convinced me to do so and it was worth every single dollar. Ill Factor is an amazing mentor and the guest mentors were great too! My productions really improved to a point that I'm actually considering releasing some songs.

I felt like the course was really well thought-out. It started where it needed to start and progressed in a logical way. I also think all the tips were really helpful. Getting weekly personalized feedback was also a big boost.

Elevate was a game-changer for my music overall! Before starting, I had no idea where I was going when it came to music production, I was unaware of what areas needed improvement, I just knew something didn't sound right. After Elevate, I now have the tools to finish song ideas and know how to address issues I am hearing in my productions! I have full confidence to make and release music now, not only have I learned a lot of music production skills, but this program also helped shift my mindset.
