Very pleasant experience

I don't usually write reviews on TrustPilot, but given that there are many bad reviews out there for Berg&Berg I want to share my opinion.

I have purchased multiple trousers across the years, all with great success. You simply don't find this fit anywhere else. Their shipping is reliable and fast, and so is the return process. Quality is very high and the trousers are built to last. The latest addition with a higher quality hanger is just an added bonus.

I can't recommend this brand enough - they are simply great and one of a kind.

Excellent Fit, Quality, and Attention to Detail

I am extremely happy with my trousers. They fit really well, and the quality is excellent. Since they come in an unfinished length, you do need to be aware that a visit to the tailor is required. It’s not very often that you come across a brand that truly preserves and celebrates the classic 1960s fit.

Their size guide was easy to use, and the packaging was satisfactory. It’s a great touch that each pair of trousers comes with a high-quality hanger, making it easy to store them properly. I am definitely very satisfied.

Appalling customer service and lack of transparency with VAT

I am still in the process of sending back an item as it doesn’t suit me.

I sent 3 emails asking for a simple return label but they have been unresponsive.

In addition, I was charged with £72 VAT when the item was shipped to the UK.
There was no transparency in their pricing about VAT and/custom duties paid.

I should have read the reviews first before buying anything from them.

Their site and socials look carefully curated but don’t be fooled. I’ve always been supportive with up and coming menswear brands and this is not one of them.

You’ve been warned

Issue with Berg & Berg Finally Resolved

I’d like to share my experience with Berg & Berg in chronological order:
I placed my order on October 1st. According to the shipping confirmation, the package was sent on October 6th, but it never arrived. The tracking link never worked, and customer service kept replying with standard responses like “DHL is investigating.”
At first, the communication was honestly terrible – slow, evasive, and without any real progress.
Only after persistent follow-ups on my part was the case finally taken over by a new representative, who handled everything professionally and efficiently. Shortly after that, the package did arrive, and the products were – as expected from Berg & Berg – excellent quality.
Looking back, I’m glad the issue was resolved, though the process was unnecessarily difficult. I hope Berg & Berg provides the same level of professional service from the start that the second representative demonstrated.

Scammers

Scammers! Returned item provided by their return label. Tracking number says it was delivered to their address. Customer service is terrible, they lost my package in their warehouse and after 30 days still waiting for a refund!!

No answers from their customer service.

DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THEM!

Poor fit and terrible customer service

Poor fit and terrible customer service. I ordered a suit in my usual size from Berg and Berg a few weeks ago. Despite their claims to be true to size and a roomier fit than many other tailors, the jacket was tight across both the chest and waist, when jackets I have in this size or even one size smaller are fine. More importantly, I then ordered the size up. After several days without dispatch, I wrote to customer service and received no reply. I wrote again and received a reply saying that the order had been packed and was about to be shipped. No shipping information was received. When I wrote again the following day, I was told the size was not in stock and that my order had been cancelled. Somewhere along the line, I was misled -- either that it had been packed and was about to dispatch, or that it was sold out. Either way, slow and misleading customer service means I would suggest taking your money elsewhere.

VAT treatment outisde EU not fair

I can 2nd customer from AU experience regarding VAT. Luckily I noticed before placing order that VAT is not deducted for delivery outside EU. Customer representative was completely clueless and kept waffling something about base price being same for everyone and difference comes of VAT, but if you charge same inside and outside EU simply means you do not deduct VAT for non-EU.

Not Transparent or Professional

I ordered from Berg & Berg as an international customer and was disappointed by their lack of pricing transparency. Their website states that VAT is “excluded” for non-EU customers, but the price remains the same as for EU customers, meaning the actual VAT amount is not deducted. This is misleading and raises concerns about compliance with consumer protection laws. When I reached out for clarification, they continued to reiterate their pricing structure rather than addressing the transparency issue.

Additionally, my high-value order was shipped without requiring a signature, and it was left unattended and subsequently stolen. For an expensive purchase, I would have expected better shipping practices and safeguards.

When I raised my concerns publicly, instead of engaging in a constructive discussion, Berg & Berg blocked me on social media. This response does not reflect a company that values customer feedback or accountability.

I have brought the pricing issue to the attention of consumer authorities and hope it will lead to greater transparency. In the meantime, I would advise international customers to be cautious and ensure they fully understand the pricing and shipping policies before purchasing.

Outstanding Menswear

I have a number of Berg&Berg items: jackets, trousers, shirts, accessories. The design and quality are consistently excellent. Ordering online has always gone smoothly, never had issues with payments, delivery, etc.
Their sizes run a little small compared to some other brands, but the measurements are given on their website so if you check first you should be fine.
Would happily recommend their products and service.

€10 shipping and €15 return...

€10 shipping and €15 return...? They take more money from you to return a garment. With how complicated and boring it is to buy online, especially because of the issue of returns, these people make it more difficult and more expensive for you.

No Transparency Around International Fees and Terrible Customer Service

I'm disappointed to say my recent experience ordering from Berg & Berg fell short of expectations. As a repeat customer, I've purchased several times before without issue. However, my latest order resulted in unexpected customs fees that were not clearly disclosed.

Upon checkout, Berg & Berg advertised "free delivery" for orders over 200 EUR. There was no indication additional customs charges could apply. Only after my shipment had arrived and weeks later I received a Fedex bill. I sought to dig deeper into their policies and found vague language about potential import duties buried in their terms. This lack of transparency led to a nasty surprise costing me over £80 extra.

When I contacted customer service seeking clarity or resolution, I received vague and righteous responses about fees being out of their control. Yet other 'premium' retailers make these charges clear during checkout or cover it via Deliveries Duties Paid. The website and policies have ambiguous language about potential costs that misled me as a customer.

Throughout the process of addressing the issue, I found the customer service lacking in empathy and a real desire to resolve the problem. As a loyal customer, I expected more personalised care and more proactive solutions to rectify a frustrating situation. Moreover, despite my requests for a resolution, Berg & Berg has repeatedly ignored me, failing to respond on three separate occasions.

While I still believe Berg & Berg provides quality products, this experience revealed significant shortcomings in their communications, policies, and service protocols when issues arise. Providing transparent policies upfront and training staff to handle problems with understanding and accountability would go a long way. I hope they take this feedback to heart and make improvements - their customers deserve better.
