I rarely leave reviews like this, but after the way this situation was handled, I feel other tourists should know exactly what happened to us.

During our tour, we were asked to pay €120 CASH on the bus for Pelișor Castle entrance tickets for 2 adults and 1 student.

The official prices? 30 RON per adult and 7.5 RON for a student.

That means the official total was 67.5 RON — approximately €13–14.

We were charged €120. In cash.

I repeatedly asked for a receipt and an explanation. After having to chase the company after the tour, they eventually sent me a document and explicitly confirmed IN WRITING that the €120 corresponded to the Pelișor entrance tickets for 2 adults and 1 student.

I then asked what I think is an extremely reasonable and simple question:

How exactly does approximately €13–14 worth of entrance tickets become a €120 cash charge?

I asked them to provide a detailed breakdown of the €120 and explain exactly what we had paid for.

They never answered.

I escalated the matter to GetYourGuide and provided the documentation and correspondence. GetYourGuide told me that the case was reviewed by their relevant team, including verification with the activity provider, and after completing their review they issued a full refund for my booking.

At that point, I think the facts speak for themselves.

Min vännina var turist i Rumänien och blev väldigt besviken av hur man better sig i Rumänien mot turisterna. Hoppas stoppas dem att lura folk!

I booked a castle tour in Romania through GetYourGuide. The activity was cancelled and I received an email from BEST TOURS & TRIPS ROMANIA offering a 30% discount on another tour. I accepted and paid €50.

For almost a month before the tour date (April 26), I repeatedly tried to contact them by phone, WhatsApp, and email because I had a late-night flight after the tour and needed confirmation about timing. They never answered.

Only the day before the tour did they finally contact me, changing the departure time from 7:00 to 9:00. This made it impossible for me to join the tour and still catch my flight. When I requested a refund, they refused, saying cancellations are only refundable until the day before the tour — despite the fact that they had been unreachable for weeks.

On top of that, they changed the tour schedule themselves and were not transparent fully transparent as they said tickets for Peles Castle were sold out, but through them it was possible to buy the entrance tickets.

Very disappointing experience. I would not recommend this company. Be careful before booking with them. I think also that the address on their site is a fake.
