Making Autism Accessible
There are not a lot of trainings for first responders specific to dealing with autism in my area. Blue Bridge made it easy for me to push out a well put together and interesting online training for all of my people.
Unmatched passion and real life experience
Thank you so much ! By far the best training on autism I’ve attended. Hearing perspectives from both a first responder and a parent took real courage and strength, it opened up an honest level of dialogue that may not have happened otherwise. The tools and strategies shared were practical and will absolutely be used in the field. I would attend again without hesitation, there’s just so much valuable information to take in. The presenter’s passion is immediately noticeable and makes the training that much more because you know that it isn’t just someone talking at you but someone who really wants to help others understand and connect. If you get the chance to attend this training and you’re a first responder or work alongside them, do it—100% worth it.
The best!
Hands down the best training on responses to persons on the Autism spectrum that I have received in my career both from the social work and emergency response sides. The presenter has an obvious passion for education and building stronger communities. I appreciated his ability to speak from experience as a retired law enforcement officer as well as a parent. He really understood the struggles that both sides face and was vulnerable in his storytelling. The tools provided were excellent and of a reasonable size to be kept in a car and utilized frequently. The presenter made me think and reconsider current practices.
Perspective is everything. Excellent training!
Captain Turning's perspective as a law enforcement officer and as father to an autistic son uniquely positions him to successfully train and translate information from both perspectives to all audiences. He teaches what first responders are seeing and understandably misinterpreting when encountering an autistic person or responding to an elopement situation and what the autistic person desperately NEEDS them to see and understand.
Immediate Applicable Strategies and Guidance
Jerry is an impactful presenter. He not only offers insights through lived experiences and relevant examples, but gives the audience tools and strategies that can be implemented immediately. All first responders should attend this training.
The training was outstanding
The training was outstanding. I have a 27 year old special needs son. It was easy to relate to this topic and you can tell the Instructor was very passionate and knowledgeable about this Autism class. It was a great idea that the county offered this class. All LE agencies should take this course. Thank you for coming and sharing your life experiences with the class, Sir.
Great training
Great training, every law enforcement officer should have this training 💙🤍
Excellent training can’t wait for more
Excellent training can’t wait for more. This is by far the best autism training I have been too. Thank you!

As an SRO I deal with kids on the spectrum quite a bit. Even though I was aware of quite a bit of the information presented I learned new things to try and to use which was great. Also coming from the aspect and also an Officer brings this in to a whole new light. Definitely will share this training with other officers and also with school staff.

The obvious signs that we’re sitting right in front of me, make much more sense to me now. I will be able to use this as a guide in my professional career in law-enforcement.
Great information
Honestly this informed me on so many ways to look at different forms of communication and better evaluate the situation. Also now being able to slightly understand some clues to identify if someone who we come in contact with maybe on the spectrum and better ways to communicate and handle the situation. This will be a great tool to utilize for myself and my fellow LEOs.

The best Autism Awareness Training I have taken
I have taken many Autism Awareness trainings in the past and although I have gotten a little bit out of each of them, your training was informative from the very start. Between talking about your own experiences with your son, on the job experiences, as well as characteristics of other Autistic children was great. How you broke down your training into the segments you did I felt was very easy to follow and made a lot of sense. Thank you for this. I have recommended you and your training to our Massachusetts Juvenile Police Officer Association board members in hopes to have you speak at a future conference. Thank you again.
The training that Blue Bridge provides is a sense of peace
The training that Blue Bridge provides is an eye opener. I also have a son that is autistic and this opened my eyes to a lot. There is a lot of great information that is vital to our profession. This training hit home to me.
Cpl. Of patrol and night supervision
This course is presented by an individual who has a great personal interest and desire to help others understand what Autism is. He is very knowledgeable and caring on all aspects of autism. Very helpful course
Valuable information for everyone
This is incredibly valuable information for everyone, but especially for first responders who are trained to approach these behaviors in specific ways. I don't think this course could have been delivered nearly as effectively by anyone other than Jerry. His depth of experience and the level of detail he provides make this course truly unique, and likely unmatched elsewhere.

As an LEO and father to an Autistic son, I have many of the same fears and with the trend of the explosion of autism diagnoses, it is imperative that we understand and respond accordingly to these individuals in a safe and empathetic manner. I would 100% recommend this training to EVERYONE.
