Customer NO Service Left 2 phone messages and 4 email messages with NO RESPONSE. Sent complaint email to corporate in Miami. No response. It is amazing this service is still in existence with such low, low ratings. Good space for a competitor that can deliver.

It would be nice to be able to have our listing on Yachtworld as well. Same Company.
Also, I noticed in my add screens when using google, other boats come up but not mine...Did those folks pay more to have that feature?

Buyers MUST message Sellers their contact information

Even though Boat Trader ask potential buyers to provide contact information, Boat Trader does not share that information with sellers. Sellers receive messages from potential buyers requesting to be contacted but without contact info provided. If potential buyers aren't familiar with or don't monitor the Boat Trader messenger, they never see responses from sellers requesting contact information. Also, Sellers have the expectation that Boat Trader provides this information so when buyers request the information again, its looks suspicious.

“Boat Trader used auto-renewal to charge me again even though my boat sold months ago. I was billed in January and again in March for a listing I no longer needed, and customer service refused to make it right. This feels deceptive and unfair. Be very careful before giving them your payment information.”

Poor photos worse customer service.

Payment would not go through, so I used a different card. Then both went through. Called for a refund of one fee and haven't received it. Then wanted my add closed and refunded because the photos that were cropped using their site didn't show cropping in the add photos. Complained and IT was supposed to call and never called. Still have not received refund.

Our team has confirmed that both refunds were successfully processed on our end (one on the 12th and the other on the 16th). While most refunds appear within 3–5 business days, timing can vary depending on your bank. If you haven’t seen them yet, we recommend checking with your bank, as they may still be in transit.

We also apologize for the issues you experienced with your listing photos. Your feedback has been noted, and we’re working to improve both the listing experience and our follow-up communication.

I would be careful dealing with Boaters…

I would be careful dealing with Boaters Point in Marblehead, Ohio; they sold me a boat with contract and deposit placed…couple days before pickup they called to say they sold boat to another person…very unprofessional!

This site is absolute trash

This site is absolute trash. They must have outsourced web development to a bunch of morons and that indicative of a horribly run business. I would never post my boat here because of this simple fact.

had to chase the refund

I received an email notice on the 21st that my add would auto renew on the 23rd- I immediately sent an email to them asking to cancel the add as per the email instructions. I didn't get any notice of cancellation so I logged in and canceled the auto renew, still no response so I called and left a message to please cancel. I finally got an email on the 24th but it said the ad had auto renewed. Got another email on the 24th saying the add had expired. I expected to see a notice of refund but did not so I called again and finally got them to send back the fee. Not my idea of fair business.

For clarity, ads can be canceled directly within the account at any time, which immediately stops auto-renewal. In this case, your cancellation request was sent by email, which requires manual processing by our support team. While your message was received before the renewal date, it was reviewed after the renewal had processed, which led to the charge going through.

Once we connected with you, our team issued a refund and confirmed the cancellation. It should be fully processed within 5-10 business days. We’re glad we were able to resolve it, please don't hesitate to reach out with any further questions.

Joey was the best customer service representative! I had a lot of questions and he had all the answers! Made my experience with boat trader very easy and we sold the boat!!

response was good but price is a bit high. correspondence with interested parties was kind of complicated. had my boat on facebook and craigslist with just a few responses, mostly low ball offers. not a lot on boat trader but much more realistic offers. sold boat for what I wanted

Nothing but scammers

Paid $189 to list my boat. I thought this was a legitimate site but the responses I got from the listing were all scammers looking for personal information or asking me to buy a boat history report from their website.

Total waste of money and time.

Lots of Fake Leads, Be Careful

I listed my boat on Boat Trader hoping to reach serious buyers, but ALL of inquiries were not genuine.
All had fake offers using cashier’s checks or offshore deals, or tried to sell history reports or unrelated services instead of actually buying the boat, and then simply disappeared after initial contact. A lot of scam responses! Lots of wasted time.

Joey was fantastic
I just read a lot of unfavorable experiences with boat trader. I use their app for 12 weeks and had a lot of scammers which I reported to the company, they blocked those people immediately. I\n Wish they would do more vetting on these scammers so that us in the selling world don't have to deal with it, but I'm sure they're working on a process to rectify this problem. I just reinstituted my ad on boat trader today and I am assured that I will get scammers, but now I know how to deal with them immediately. I don't give my phone number out nor my email. I only use the boat trader email so we can document the crazy stuff that often occurs. I don't understand why people don't get good results with bolt trader. I've had great results with many of the customer service representatives that I've spoken with over the last months, they were very helpful and took care of any problems that I had as quickly as they were able to by the system that they were working with.
I cn only say to people that are having problems.ChillDon't hang up , don't email call the Boat trader, telephone phone number and speak with somebody live. You will get a good result.
I hope you listen to the words of an old man who has had many, many interfaces with boat trader over the last 8 months, they're nice people. They are not the ones that are scamming us sellers. It's the crazy people that want to bilk you out of your money. Be smarter than they are. Don't give them your telephone number or email. And if you do, block them once they start being horrible, which they generally are almost immediately.
Veterans care about people!
