BOL Foods Avis 

As someone who has been eating these meals since the Innocent veg & noodle pot days, I have noticed a dramatic decline in quality, taste, volume, and value for money.

Given that Bol was founded by a former pro-athlete, I am surprised that they are not substantial 'meal' pots (often <300 calories) and are consequently very overpriced for a tiny portion of vegetables (i.e. the cost:calorie ratio is very off).

In this COL + Food insecurity crisis, in a time when we are encouraging a higher intake of plant-based meals (climate change), I would sincerely recommend that BOL fills their pots to consitute a more nutritionally balanced meal (400-600 cals) and/or lowers the costs.

I for one, a former daily consumer of BOL, can now only justify buying them when they are on a generous offer and/or reduced.

I particularly enjoyed BOL's Roasted Red Pepper and Tomato Protein Boosting Power Soup. Lots of flavour without adding sugar. I emailed BOL to tell them how much I'd liked it, got a very nice email in return and some vouchers sent to me. Really friendly company with a personal touch and very tasty products.

Tried the Korean Sweet Chilly Ramen, and it was excellent. I was so impressed, that I contacted BOL to give them some well deserved praise.
I love the company ethic and would recommend everyone tries their food.

Had one of the curry veg pots last week and was violently ill from food poisoning 6 hours later.

Will never buy this brand again. Something wrong at the factory causing contaminated food.

BOL butternut squash and chilli soup.
Oh you have it so so wrong.
Flavourless baby soup with so little taste I tried unsuccessfully to add things to it but it actually reminded me of baby food.
Each jar might as you say contain good things but it does not mean I have to suffer and I had to throw it away down the sink. Are you food vetting people frightened to tell you the truth.

I have terrible food poisoning from a protein boosting BOL soup. There is no question it was that as i didn't eat anything else and there was something odd in retrospect. I was horribly sick within 2 hours of consuming and still am. Terrible experience. It was my first BOL soup. Never ever again.

Hearty, and healthy , I’m not vegetarian but I always head to the chilled section in my local shop to see what’s still available. I exercise a lot yet these soups still fill me up

I tried them again a few months ago and they're back to like they used to be - lovely and thick. I don't think the stats on the label have changed but there's far more in there than there was a year or so ago.

Bol soups used to be wonderful for a quick, healthy, and nice vegan meal. The pea and spinach one had:

4 of 5-a-day,
35g protein,
42g of fibre,

And it was nice. I noticed this week that they started tasting weak and unpleasant, and found that those numbers have changed to:

3 of 5-a-day,
18g protein,
19g of fibre.

So they've just removed about 40-50% of the good bits and replaced them with water. A quick look at the butternut squash looks like a similar issue.

If they just increased the price or decreased the size by 15% or something due to inflation, that would be reasonable at the moment. But they haven't changed the size or price, just decreased the quality by 40-50%.

In addition I don't think they've changed the salt content, though I don't have the previous nutrition information to hand. So the salt/goodness ratio is also much worse.

I used to eat about 4 Bol soups per week. Won't be doing that anymore. I wonder if the "great taste" award sticker refers to the current iteration or the good one...

I had a lovely BOL Power Shake, chocolate and peanut butter following a 10k run. It was so so good! The taste was phenomenal, so thick and creamy. It felt like it was a really naughty shake, almost like a pudding. But it was actually a meal! Packed with 26 essential vitamins and minerals and 20g of protein!

Definitely a must have and I’m off to find the other flavours now!

I love the one pot meals, my current favourite it the Piri Piri Sweet Potato Stew. The meals are filling and tasty and so easy to pop in the microwave or cook on the job, whatever your preference is. I can’t recommend them highly enough.

I don’t normally do reviews but just wanted to say, I love Bol products!! I’ve been stuck in with a horrible cold and they’ve been getting me through. I especially love the smoky bean pot and protein booster. Thank you, Bol, as it’s hard as a vegan with a busy lifestyle, and who is not a fabulous cook, to get quick but proper meals that are healthy and delicious :)

Has the Thai one before and loved it !! This time tasted disgusting so tried katsu tasted exactly the same sweet and like it was off !! never again had to spit it out offered up to son and said worst thing he ever tasted !! Waste of money !!! What have you done to it !!! yuk !!!

I had the Korean Sweet Chilli Ramen Posh Noodles for lunch, and I thought they were fab! A really lovely sauce. Not hot-spicy, but nice and flavoursome, and the sauce was thick so it held onto the noodles. Yum!

I love Bol products. Tasty, healthy and a great option for me as a Gluten Free vegan - so much choice!

"Bloody hell! This is good" Is what I have just shouted across the office while tucking into one of the Sweet potato katsu curry pots. I’m not vegetarian or vegan (but I am a secret tree hugger) and I’m trying to find ways to get more veg into my diet. My wife and I will choose a veggie option at least 50% of the time. Up until today, I have struggled to find a suitable option for quick lunches etc. So glad we have found this brand and we are looking forward to trying more products in the range!! Good work team! Keep it up!

How refreshing to find a range of food products that are not only 100% plant powered, but packed full with nutrition, completely delicious and convenient to take with you anywhere you want. There are some imaginative recipes and flavours too. Great stuff!!!

Have been having BOL for almost a year now and have worked my way through majority of the products. Can honestly say top tier brand with great values and even better food. We definitely stay on as Boliever for a long time.

Today I have tried Creamy Malaysian Ramen and creamy coconut turmeric daal.
They both tasted really good both need four minutes in the microwave with the two minutes turning; the packaging is very well thought giving you the option of discovering more recipes having a bit of fun and throughout the whole experience of Bol Foods branding. I would recommend this to anyone, it is a great alternative to meat and one is enough to cover you for lunch.
I buy mine from Tesco it is very easy to find mine is next to milk aisle. Can’t wait to try them all. Energy drinks mix is next.
