Ben and Jacks Bouncy Castles Avis 

Amazing service, they were really quick at putting the bouncy castle up, it took about ten minutes. They were on time picking it up as well. Will definitely book with them again for future birthday parties.

Caution

This is a warning to anyone, but particularly women, planning a party and needing a bouncy castle to avoid Ben and Jack’s Bouncy Castles.
On 2nd January 2024, I filled in an enquiry form on Ben and Jack’s web page. Hearing nothing at all from the company, I thought nothing more of it and booked with another provider who did respond.
Two months later, on the 2nd of March a representative from Ben and Jack’s arrived 5 minutes before my son’s 5th birthday party with a van and bouncy castle. On seeing a bouncy castle already set up, he insisted I had booked with him and should pay the £70 for the hire.
Naturally, I argued I had nothing to pay for as no booking was made nor confirmation received. The man then told me that I had not ‘enquired’ but booked using the online form. However, on checking my emails, where he said I would find the confirmation, I found absolutely nothing from the company. Later that evening I even double checked every mailbox, junk etc, on and around the 2nd Jan and nothing had been sent from Ben and Jack’s.
The verbal back and forth between us continued as children arrived as the man, who was standing in the doorway of the hall, refused to leave without payment. Finally, one of the dads stepped in and asked what it would take for the man to go away. In the end, he said if we paid him £30 he would go. An offer he had not made to me. Unfortunately, we felt we had to pay.
It seems to me, given that the ‘booking’ was made on the 2nd of Jan and there was no further communication until the day of my son’s party 2 months later, I was part of a scam that targets people in a moment of high pressure and exploits that vulnerability. What was particularly intimidating was that the representative flatly refused to leave without payment and did not concede until a man stepped in.
I was surprised to find there were no other negative reviews given my experience, until I found out that the company recently changed hands and was under new ownership. Be advised that the previous positive reviews may now not be applicable to these new owners.
