Hello Leah.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We usually welcome all feedback, both positive and negative when it is reasonable and accurate. However, sadly in this case your review would appear to be neither.

As a small family business (there's just the two of us, husband and wife, working here) who work 7 days per week for 50 weeks of the year we feel it is not unreasonable to take a little time off at Christmas to spend with our children. The information that we were closed for Christmas was clearly noted on our website, social media channels and on emails sent in the weeks leading up to the festive period. We can see you emailed us with your query at 11:40am on Thursday 29th December. We were closed. You then left this review at 10:55pm on (bank holiday) Monday 2nd January. Between sending your email and leaving this review we had not returned to work. We have since replied to your email at 9am on Tuesday 3rd January (please check your junk/spam folder), in effect less than 2 working days since you sent it. By your own admission you had been emailing the wrong business since 8th December. It is a shame that you couldn't afford us just a little more patience.

Ordinarily in this situation we would of course offer a full refund and request you return the item (at our expense) so we can feedback to the manufacturer. However, since you have declined to reply to our email we decided to look further into your claims.

In your email you state the shorts '...frayed at the seam...' and '...I had to put him in joggers and boots and now his Christmas photos look awful...'

This obviously is not acceptable and we can only apologise, if true. However imagine our surprise when we looked at your Facebook profile and saw multiple pictures of you with your son, wearing the outfit posing with Santa. These pictures were posted on 22nd December. In the photos there is no sign of the 'joggers and boots' and to be quite honest your son looks adorable in his outfit.

Unfortunately at this time of year we do suffer from people treating us like a hire shop, whereby they purchase items for an event or occasion and then return to us as they are no longer needed. This is obviously unacceptable and something we do not tolerate. We sincerely hope this is not the case here.

If you could please get back to us by replying to our email hopefully we can get to the bottom of this.

As you still have not replied to our email, yet continue to post mis-truths here on this public forum we have no option but to defend ourselves.

We did not & would never attempt to 'blackmail' you. This is simply not true and would request you remove this statement. We simply asked that you consider removing your unfair review considering you had not given us any time to deal with the matter before posting but when we did respond at the earliest opportunity we offered a full refund with a refund to cover the cost of returning the outfit.

We then saw that you had used the outfit in the Christmas photos that you had initially claimed were 'ruined' due to your son not being able to wear the outfit. The pictures on your Facebook page show your son wearing the outfit with no joggers in sight. This obviously was contradictory to your claims via email.

Consider from our perspective. You are demanding a refund on an item purchased 4 months ago and have worn and used (as borne out by the photographs showing your son in the outfit at a Christmas photo-shoot). You then left us a terrible review because we didn't reply back to you over the New Year/bank holiday weekend. Our first instinct is always to deal with our customers in a fair and honest manner which is proven by our long track-record of 5 star reviews and customer satisfaction and the least we would hope for is to be treated as such in return.
