The watch I received from Brew has both a retro sensibility and is forward looking as well. The particular combination of these two aesthetics, gives rise to a very unique product, that is also just beautiful. Absolutely love Brew and the Metric line - especially the titanium model. It’s super light on the wrist and easy to wear every day. The craftsmanship feels refined, the materials are high quality, and the price point is hard to beat. I’m also a big fan of the vintage-inspired design - it looks great on any wrist (which is tough to pull off!). You don’t see this level of quality and passion from many other microbrands.
My Brew Retromatic in blue is my go-to daily watch. I wear it six days a week, except for if I'm going to the gym or hiking. It's an essential part of my wardrobe, and the build quality is phenomenal. It blends just as well with a casual outing as it does with a formal suit and tie. After wearing it daily for over 3 years, it still looks like new. The automatic movement is great because it's very accurate and never needs a battery changed. I have also picked up a hoodie from Brew, and the quality is what you would expect in line with the brand. It is extremely soft and well built. I like the thick stitched logos all around.
I have also gotten to know John, the founder/designer, since then. Meeting him reinforces everything I previously perceived about the brand. John is truly the most positive and down-to-earth guy in the watch business.
The only downside of Brew is that since it is a microbrand, the special edition pieces tend to sell out quickly. But that makes them even more unique and special. So if you're on the fence about a Brew watch, I recommend you give them a try!
It’s not even up for debate, Brew is one of the best microbrands making watches today. I own several Brew watches, and it’s been amazing to see how much the brand has grown over the past decade while continuing to reinvent itself. From events to pop-ups, if you ever get the chance to go hands on with a Brew watch, you can immediately feel the quality. I can’t recommend Brew enough, whether it’s your first watch or your hundredth. You’re buying from a real designer who doesn’t skip a single detail. I can only imagine what’s next for this brand.
I'm an advertising and branding professor. I covet exceptional design and execution. That's why I own 6 Brew watches. Each is blliantly designed, well exected, with phenomenal specs. The attention to detail given to each layer of the dial is masterful. I've dropped over a couple of thousand on these watches, and they're worth every cent.
Retro Metric arrived as described and it is a gorgeous watch. I had a mishap with a link pin that was my fault so I reached out to customer service and inquired about purchasing replacement pins. They immediately mailed me pins FREE of charge 1 day later!!!!!! This watch has gotten tons of compliments, I cant stop smiling when I wear it and I have only had it 3 weeks. I will definitely purchase from Brew again with no hesitation and question that if I need them that they will respond.
The brew metric is absolutely not waterproof.I bought one 4 months ago. Water leaked into mine it first time I wore it for 10 minutes in waist level water. The brand claims 50 meters of water resistance. They take no accountability for claims and don't offer support. I opened a claim with customer support and they said it was my fault for getting it wet (it has 50m literally engraved on its caseback) You are paying $500 for a cool looking but terribly built timepiece. This micro brand is not a well paying gamble.
Bought a Brew Lumint watch. Only have it one month. Chronograph function doesn’t work. Emails go unanswered. $400 down the drain
I recently received a Retromatic, which is beautiful! I’m in the UK so was slightly wary of ordering from NY, but it was an incredibly smooth delivery process via FedEx. Highly recommend this brand - cannot fault!
