When it comes to fresh fish, Browne Trading has the best. Given that Browne pays a premium to top fishermen and distributors, we ensure our Michelin chefs and home gourmands alike receive the freshest fish, shellfish, and ethically sourced seafood. We source local Maine favorites like uni, bluefin tuna, oysters, and fresh lobster meat. From afar, we carry coveted carabinero prawns, wild Portuguese specialties, and sustainably farmed Veta la Palma fish.
Browne Trading proudly crafts small-batch smoked seafood at our Portland location. Our boutique smoke house cures, brines, smokes, slices, and packages our smoked salmon, scallops, sturgeon, and more using a cold smoke method.
When it comes to caviar, Browne Trading is the only company in the US that co-brands with caviar partner farms. We work closely with sturgeon farms in Belgium, Italy, Israel, China, and the U.S.A. to ensure transparent sourcing and the highest quality.

Concern on "new" size of caviar
I am a long time repeat client; and I have referred several friends to Buy at Browne Trading. I recently bought the same caviars that I have been buying for years. I clicked on what I thought was the small size & the same price that I had been paying. After delivery, I learned the "Size" was a new "sampler". The price was approximately the same; the size was significantly smaller. My fault for NOT looking carefully. But, I thought it was migrating in to the "misleading the customer category". There should have been a more prominent note on the website on the new sizes.

We sent out a few email updates on this new sample size option but we do filter some subscribers so as not to over bother sendees. I am so sorry that this was not communicated more clearly. We've added 12 gram information on every applicable caviar product page and are in the works for adding to scale photos to these products. I would be more than happy to ship you a free 30 gram of Royal Galilee Osetra for the hardship. Please confirm to customerservice@brownetrading.com if you want that coordinated.

Order was fulfilled on time and salmon was beautifully packaged. I ordered the Scottish smoked which is a little denser and slightly saltier than the regular smoked salmon. I prefer the regular but it is a matter of preference. Great company. Have used the over many years.
