Really poor experience and a complete lack of respect for a customer’s time.

I specifically took time out of my working day and arranged to work from home for this appointment. The communication beforehand asked whether I was available between 10:00 and 10:30, which I rearranged my schedule to accommodate.

Only on the morning of the appointment was I suddenly told that a minimum of 45 minutes was required. Unfortunately, an important work call had come in at the last minute, meaning I had around 30 minutes available — the exact window I had originally been asked to make myself available for.

I explained this and was told the appointment would need to be rearranged. The owner then called me personally to reiterate that 30 minutes simply wasn’t possible.

What makes this particularly frustrating is that this was not an exploratory first visit. I have already had other companies quote for the work, this was my final quote, and the specification is pretty much nailed down. I was very clear about what was required. If your process requires a minimum 45-minute appointment, that’s absolutely fine — tell the customer that when arranging it, rather than after they’ve reorganised their working day around the time window you’ve given them.

There was also pressure around having my partner present so that a decision could apparently be made there and then; otherwise, it sounded as though another appointment would be required. That gave the whole process a very sales-driven feel rather than one centred around the customer’s convenience.

I don’t expect a company to rearrange its processes around me. I do expect it to communicate those processes before I give up part of my working day.

No quote received, time wasted, and an unnecessarily frustrating experience before they’ve even won the business.

If this is the level of flexibility and customer service at quotation stage, I’m comfortable taking the work elsewhere.

UPDATE FOLLOWING THE COMPANY’S RESPONSE – 2 OCTOBER 2026

I’m genuinely shocked by the response below. Rather than simply acknowledge that the appointment duration was not communicated when I booked, they’ve gone back five years to portray me as having a “clear history of scheduling issues” and a “scheduling pattern”.

For context, they did attend and quote me in 2021.

This time, I arranged work and caring responsibilities for my disabled child around the appointment they offered me. I was only told on the morning that 45 minutes was required. I was never told 45–60 minutes, despite them now saying that publicly.

Most importantly: I still agreed to the 10am appointment. They refused to attend. They cancelled it, not me.

Calling that a “take it or leave it ultimatum” and using an appointment from five years ago to construct a narrative about my character is, in my opinion, completely unnecessary.

Businesses sometimes get things wrong. The best businesses acknowledge it, apologise and put it right. Instead, they've chosen to publicly blame the customer.

If this is how a relatively minor issue is handled before they've taken my money, it certainly makes me question what the experience or aftercare might be like if something went wrong after a major installation.

I have retained the correspondence and screenshots. People can read both sides and make their own minds up.

Amazing service by Tony and Lee today installing our lovely new electric door! They arrived promptly and carried out the installation, checking all was OK first. They were polite and friendly and we could not fault their work and end product. Thank you Bulldog Garage Doors

I am back with a Bulldog roller garage door review update.
I would like to say Bulldog garage doors came back out to us.
They went above and beyond to resolve the issue we had with the draught and cold coming in and we are now very happy with our roller doors.
They have been very attentive and we really appreciate them going the extra mile for us.

With out a doubt the best customer service I have ever experienced. My gauge door was damaged and phoned the company that fitted our door to repair it but they have messed us about. So a friend suggested to phone bulldog. Which I did they asked me to send some pictures by email which I did then I phoned back to confirm they received them. With that I was told an engineer would be out to look at it following afternoon. Which was great to say the least. Then something amazing happened the engineer turned up looked at the door made a phone call. Cut my old door open. Bulldog made a repayment shutter delivered it to be fitted so all repaired in under 24 hours start to finish

Uses fake reviews, has had 100's of reviews in the past, no only 17, clearlu uses a hacker to remove negative reviews. My initial review has been removed too.

How does trustpiloy allow a hacker to manipulate its online reviews.

Excellent customer service going that step further to resolve my father’s glitch with his door. Could have been more user error but they still came out to resolve when they said they could.

Fantastic company and outstanding service! We had a garage door installed by Bulldog a couple of years ago, and the whole experience—from the installation to the team—was excellent.

Fast forward to last night, someone accidentally drove into our shutter and damaged it. My car was stuck inside, and I didn’t want to risk opening the door in case it wouldn’t close again. I called Bulldog first thing this morning, and by the afternoon, they were here with a new shutter and had everything fixed.

You really can’t ask for better service than that—absolutely top-notch!

I have chosen to have a roller door fitted instead of an electric gate. Jason and Tony arrived on time, very polite, and got on with the job in the freezing cold. I am so pleased with the finished result. Price very reasonable. Highly recommended.

On 23rd June 2024 we had two electric roll up garage doors fitted. Jason and Doug were absolutely brilliant. They were polite, professional and worked diligently until the job was done.

Had our double garage roller door fitted on 8 August 2024, from the first visit to fitting was excellent and we are very pleased with the service and our door.

We have just been charged £183 to repair our garage door. Apparently the issue was our own fault and we shouldn’t have been storing items within a foot of door. This was never advised. Shows up to 10 years guarantee on website but this is only colour fade nothing else so don’t get caught out like we did. You can only use Bulldog for any spare parts with them fitting whereas other companies you can buy spare parts and fit yourself.

Prompt service, well fitted and good quality products. Price very competitive compared to others. Would highly recommend

I’ve used Bulldog Garage Doors twice, once at my old house, and my current address.
I can’t recommend them enough, a professional service, easy to talk to and did everything I said they would, in the timeframe they told me. I have a white roller garage door and I’ve never had any problem with ii or the last one, it’s been a few years now.
Well worth the money to have somebody who knows what they’re doing.

Fitters turned up and done a great job. It is the after service that I have an issue with. My new garage door opens without my knowledge as the remote is so sensitive it activates the garage door when I chick my keys on the side in my house. I ask for guidance on programming the auto shut feature as I had tried following the poor instructions in the manual without success. The response I got was instructions are in the manual. We don’t recommend. After posting this review I was contacted and given various options and a offer of an engineer to come and program the door to auto close . ( which is not recommended). I think the issue was my range rover key which is very chunky was pushing the remote key fob.I have separated them on my key ring.
Based on the phone call I have amend my review. As stated the quality of the door and the excellent job the fitters is a credit to the company.
