They apparently sent me letters about a missing loan payment and I didn´t get anything. Seems they don´t have my eircode either. They decided to just go ahead and cancel my current account and card without as much as a text or anything - we are talking a smaller amount here, nothing that couldnt be sorted out. Customer since 2001 - who knows why. As it stands they can sing for it as they weren´t prepared to help out at all. After all they have robbed me through out the years we are probably even.....

No respect for long time customers

I tried to apply for a mortgage break for 3 months on a loan of 21 years that has 4 years left. This was my first time to apply, I have not missed a payment in 16 years and am not in financial difficulty. One would have thought this would be an easy process. How wrong was I .... the continuous changing of people "processing" your case, the constant repetition of the same questions and the over intrusive nature of the information requested was astounding. I just gave up after about the 4th person asked me the same thing ...... can you upload more proof of xyz. I appreciate that there must be risk assessment but what about looking at the history of your long term customers. If I could change bank in the morning I would but given that I only have a few more years left I will just ride it out and close all accounts with them. Revolut and Lunar are much more customer friendly. Once they start offering more standard banking services/loans this bank will be a thing of the past.

Rude Irish Advisor

Just got off the phone with a loan customer advisor. Didn’t know that I would be charged a quarterly fee more that my monthly fee which would kept me hostage to this line for longer than I signed for. For every 4months payment one month’s payment and then some would be added to my outstanding balance which means one month’s loan payment is going straight to them adding an extra 3months to my loan payment every year. So a 60month long lone is not really a 60month. Why ask this question at time of lone though when you adding more months. Not to mention how rude the advisor was, not sure because he had to work during the holiday season. He keeps pointing out that I signed up for this loan. No empathy or sympathy or apology for misunderstanding how the fee charges work. As I said so many time to employees working in customer service. IT IS BECAUSE OF US YOU HAVE A BLOODY JOB BE NICE!!!!!!

AIB’s Catastrophic Financial Advice and Mismanagement

Long-standing clients of AIB bank have come forward with serious allegations regarding the Bank’s mismanagement of financial advice and fiduciary duties, leading to devastating financial losses incurred due to overcharging and mismanagement of their trusts within AIB CI. The bank refused to acknowledge the ineptness of its staff who failed to regulate or manage clients' trusts throughout its tenure. Clients suffering losses of assets and personal finances, whilst the trust uses the monies for alleged internal administration costs remain unaccounted. Clients overpaying for administration, accounting, meetings, etc charged at exorbitant rates.
The bank encouraged its HNCs to open Financial Trust in its offshore institutions. AIB’s strong recommendation for tax efficiency and tax benefits were a smokescreen.
A senior AIB manager advised clients to establish these offshore trusts, directing them to the bank's own tax experts (conflicting of interest). AIB ROI whose own Annual Report and Accounts acknowledge these offshore operations, abruptly closed its operations selling them off following numerous complaints and disputes. The financial impact to its longstanding clients remains unaccounted for. AIB sold the business forcing its clients to refinance loans and absorb excessive costs. Research confirms clients' fees increased by 47% throughout the lifetime of their investments. Many confirm the administration costs were highly exaggerated. Endless teams of people being assigned to clients' accounts culminating in excessive fees for junior untrained staff. Others confirm their these teams failed to manage their business interests often putting them into a perilous accounting position.
Alied Irish Bank failure to fulfill its financial obligations raises serious concerns about AIB’s risk assessment, financial management, and commitment to its clients. Basic due diligence was neglected, transparency lacking, and client concerns met with dismissal rather than accountability as the current board of AIB Ireland continues to do.

Financial experts warn that this highlights the dangers of relying on financial institutions without thorough oversight and transparency by their board of directors. Abusing their client's trust.

This raises serious questions about AIB’s handling of client investments and underscores the need for tighter regulations on financial advisory practices. Affected clients are ignored and no responses have been issued by the Board of Directors AIB Ireland accountability.

For those considering financial planning with AIB, this serves as a cautionary tale, one that underscores the importance of transparency, accountability, and sound financial decision-making. If you have been affected by advise provided by any AIB bank branch please respond to this review.

Awful Customer Support

Awful Customer Support. Have had the misfortune to need to ring support on a regular basis as part of my job. It's amazing that regardless of what time of the day or week I ring, they are experiencing higher volumes than usual. At some point you have to just hire more people...
