We have been using BUSY Accounting Software for over 10 years, and until recently, we were generally satisfied with the product. However, our experience with the Dongle-Free (Softlock) licensing system has been extremely disappointing over the past few months.

Almost every day, the software unexpectedly switches to Demo Mode, displays Security Device Blocked errors, or fails to activate due to missing or corrupted license files. When this happens, our entire accounting system becomes unusable until we contact customer support.

Unfortunately, this has become a daily routine.

Despite investing approximately ₹4–5 lakh in our complete BUSY setup over the years, along with repeated troubleshooting, remote support sessions, system upgrades, and following every recommendation provided by their technical team, the issue still remains unresolved. Each time, we are informed that the problem is with our systems, even though we have spent significant time, effort, and money trying to eliminate every possible cause from our side.

The biggest concern is the impact on our business operations. Whenever this issue occurs, our accounting department comes to a standstill for the first half of the day. Billing, dispatch, purchase, accounts, customer service, and other critical business activities are delayed, directly affecting productivity and customer satisfaction.

Based on our internal assessment, these recurring disruptions have resulted in an estimated business loss of around ₹2 lakh per month over the last 3–4 months, apart from the countless hours spent coordinating with support.

As a loyal customer for more than a decade, this has been particularly frustrating. We genuinely wanted BUSY to work and invested every possible effort into resolving the issue instead of switching to another ERP. However, after months of repeated failures and no permanent solution, we have now made the difficult decision to migrate to another accounting software.

This review is not intended to unfairly criticize BUSY, but to share our genuine experience as a long-term customer. We sincerely hope the company improves the reliability of its Softlock licensing system, takes greater ownership of recurring licensing issues, and provides permanent solutions instead of temporary workarounds.

We value long-term relationships with software providers, and it is disappointing that after more than 10 years of association, we have reached this point.
