Buyspares Avis 

I was delighted to find the Kenwood mixing bowl I needed on buyspares.ie and thought the price was very reasonable. That was until I got an email from 'An Post' 2 weeks later saying that I had to pay a customs surcharge (€15.95) as it was imported from the UK. Their 'ie' domain would lead you to think the product was coming from Ireland.
The bowl is perfect but I don't like the hidden extra cost.

They don’t make it clear that they are based in the UK and that we will have to pay customs

This company is operating fraudulently as an Irish website (www.buy-spares ie) After paying full price including delivery and Irish Vat (23%) via buy-spares ie I was contacted via An Post on behalf of Irish customs to pay an Irish VAT charge & An Post fee. I explained that this had already been paid on order of the item via the website. An Post replied to me that
"If your retailer is availing of the ‘Import One Stop Shop’ (IOSS) scheme, they must supply a valid IOSS number in the correct data field.
Unfortunately, the sender of your item did not include a valid IOSS number / details."

This seems to be the case with the rest of the comments here and I will be demanding a full refund.

Custom charges while pretending to be irish

Illegal practices that should be reviewed by watchdog bodies.
Masquerading as an Irish company which reflects in customs charges.
Received a broken item and when I sent them details and photos I was told that I would need to ship it back at my costs or repurchase the item but they would waver the shipping.
Appalling that in this day and age the consumer is not protected.

This company is very dishonest, I had to pay Customs charge although their website looks like an Irish one buy-spares.ie and there was not single word about Vat charge etc. They are simply liars.
I have reported this website to CCPC.IE

I ordered a part for my cooker on 9th November paying for 2-day delivery.
The part had not arrived by 17th November so I raised a complaint on Buyspares.ie website. They responded the next day (18th). The part was delivered by DPD on the 18th.
According to DPD they received the order on the 9th @ 22:00. It took until the 14th to get to Irish customs who then had it for two days.
I did take Buyspares to task for offering and charging for 2-day delivery when it would not be possible for shipments from outside Ireland. The responded the very next day with a refund of the 2-day delivery charge.
I give them 4 star review - it would have been 5 stars but for the following points:
a) it could be clearer that goods will be shipped from outside Ireland (I did not realise this was the case -although it is apparent on further inspection)
b) because of the above they should perhaps not offer 2-day shipment on the .ie website.
c) Buyspares did not provide tracking information on the shipping email. I only found the tracking information on the DPD delivery email.

If I had read the earlier reviews I probably would not have ordered from them. I am pleased I did - and I will use them again.

1 star really is too high.
Inaccurate website listing products they don't have in stock. No communication from customer service. Failure to respond to emails and queries Re where the order is. Live chat timed out 4 times after being 2nd them 1st in queue. Despite providing order ref no.s and their Ref (which I was told to use for further enquiries) they had no clue as to the product in question. 4min intervals in-between live chat basic questions. Bunch of incompetents.

Same as all the others … YOU WILL GET TAXED on import - not an EU company but pretend to be, most would check them out under there full name (not the .ie) and so will nit see these reviews - LEAVE YOUR REVIEW also on there other 5 (!!!) company listings on trust pilot

Should have checked Trustpilot before ordering!! Have just received Customs form; like other before me, this is NOT an Irish based company.

Be careful buying from buyspares.ie. Buyspares.ie is an English based company, which is outside the EU. Anyone within the EU ordering from buyspares.ie will be hit with customs on top of what they have already paid. I ordered some products and got hit with customs. The products I ordered was small which was put inside a box which was ten times too big. A percentage of postage services or companies charge extra for the size of packaging. I contacted buyspare.ie in relation to this and they have apologize.

Not an Irish website. Do not buy from here as you will pay customs.

Company is using .ie but not Irish, charging UK VAT, then customs holding for more VAT and Duty, DO NOT PURCHASE FROM THIS COMPANY

A Joke...ordered part from what appears to be an irish website for speed of delivery...English based...long delays in delivery and customs charges...beware.

Despite it being a UK company using an Irish domain, I ordered from them last Thursday & my freezer fan arrived with no complications yesterday through DPD & I am very happy with the service & product.

Should have read up the reviews on the site, the ie is just used as a domain to trick you into buying from them thinking they're an Irish website. Scam artists

Do not deal with this site. It is not Irish despite the .ie domain. They charged me including VAT but the Irish Revenue charged VAT also, and when I contacted buyspares.ie they basically said tough luck, no refunds. Shower of gangsters.

To date, I have not received the parts that I ordered and paid for weeks ago nor have they answered my queries as to when I can expect delivery.

They did however send me a satisfaction survey to complete regarding my satisfaction with their service!!

Not an Irish website, beware of customs charges even if the item is only small

The so called universal cooker knobs were useless for our Bush cooker, despite Buyspares saying on their website that they would fit. Their customer service is useless as they have no phone contact, and on requesting longer spindles, I was told they were not available. I will have to glue two spindles together in order to get the right length. Do not use this company!
