At this stage l can't rate the service as l am in the process of signing up. I just want potential customers to know that despite the website offering monthly plans you can't get this rate unless you take the yearly option. If you want monthly the $10 lite plan (which is what l was after, just to keep my old number)the cost goes to $45 per month. A 350% increase which is a bit steep l feel. Obviously they want yearly paying customers. So far l can't fault the customer service feedback, its been excellent. I just think they should be more upfront regarding their pricing models. This is an edit to the above. whilst l still think the pricing on the monthly plans is not clear enough l have signed up for the anuual subscription, l can't fault the on boarding procedure and service so far. I have changed my rating from 2 stars (based purely on the pricing structure) to 5 stars now based on the over all experince.

The app does not tell you beforehand that, after you have paid, you need to validate your identity before the phone number can be activated. And when I tried to upload my passport, it brought me to a blank black screen with no options to interact with. I then contacted support, and basically got a reply that reads "all passports should work; I don't know why it's not working for you." Then started recommending basic yet pointless suggestions like uninstalling and reinstalling the app or waiting 24 hours. To date, I am unable to use the service that I have paid 120 AUD for.

RE: As mentioned by Cooee's reply, there was an issue with their 3rd party verification partner, which blocked Chinese passports. Cooee were able to manually approve my application, and the app works as intended now. So the initial experience was bad, but they were able to fix the issue for me within 2 days, so I am satisfied now.

Cooee has been a game changer for us. We live in Bali but also need to keep our Australian phone number for bank access.
Cooee is easy to set up, affordable and very convenient. Highly recommend.

The app does exactly what it says on the tin, which has been a life saver for accessing the banking system in Australia, with it's very limited options for 2FA.
The roadmap for development, and frequent updates give confidence in the long term future of the product, and customer support has been outstanding.

Neutral review as I haven’t managed to use it yet- I want to buy a number for Australia, but it says this is temporarily unavailable. Guidance is to create an account and contact support to ask for a number, but I did that and you can’t create a ticket for support unless you have a number.. seems an odd catch 22. Hoping an Australia number comes available again soon so I can actually use it

I'm an expat and only spend little time in Australia, but I still need an AU phone number. I've been with Cooee for more than a year now and it's not missed a beat. I receive the occasional call from old friends who don't know my new number and it helps me deal with my Australian admin.

I used Cooee while I was overseas. Was incredibly handy having my Australian phone number to receive verification texts, as well as calls and messages. Calls weren’t quite as reliable (seems to require very good internet connection) but wasn’t what I needed it for anyway. The couple of issues I had along the way were resolved by really good/quick customer service. And it was super easy to port out my number again to an Australian telecom provider when I came back. The app was also upgraded while I was using it, so I imagine it’ll only get better with time.

Cooee has given me a really reliable way of staying in managing my affairs back home while living overseas.

I'm so happy I found Cooee! As an Aussie living overseas, I really needed to keep my Australian number active mainly for all those OTP codes from my bank, MyGov, and other important accounts back home. Cooee has been perfect for this - all my verification texts come through instantly no matter where I am in the world, so I can actually access my accounts without any drama. The app is super easy to use and reliable, and it's such a relief not having to stress about being locked out of essential services. The pricing is reasonable also. If you're heading overseas and need to keep your Aussie number working for banking and verification codes, I'd definitely recommend giving Cooee a go!

Super Reliable and Incredibly Easy Setup! I honestly can't recommend Callcooee enough, especially for anyone living or traveling outside of Australia who needs to keep access to their Aussie mobile number. The two things that impressed me the most were the super reliable performance and the incredibly easy setup. I was worried about the hassle of registering online , but the sign-up process was really quick and I had my Australian mobile number working on the app within 5 minutes, all while at an overseas airport. The reliability has been flawless for receiving important SMS messages—like those codes for banking and government services. It gives me total peace of mind knowing I won't get locked out of my Australian accounts. I actually moved back to Australia in October and decided to keep my Cooee Account with a second number for my business - now that they have voicemail it’s really solid. Highly recommend!

I have had nothing but excellent service from cooee I've had an issue that I needed an Australian sim and my use was minimal they changed my plan to an economic level

I cannot find a way to contact you within the app.

This is a useful service for those travelling overseas for lengthy periods. Any issues are promptly dealt with by customer support which is important particularly when away from home. The sign on process is simple and straight forward. Worth a try.

Cooee has been a great replacement for Skype,, and I could even use the SMS service register for AFL.com while overseas. I also was a beta tester for their data roaming product - which was incredibly reliable. Saved so much not having to use data roaming with Optus. Great idea for anyone who’s travelling or working overseas.

While living abroad for several years, I relied on Cooee to provide a local Australian number for messaging and One Time Password functions, as well as providing a number I could register on WhatsApp and other apps, i found it convenient, reliable and cost effective
