Do not recommend

The pickup process was smooth, but the initial quote did not disclose hidden custom fees, which were only revealed upon inquiry. Despite assurances, there were no timely updates on the estimated delivery. The delivery arrived a week later than communicated, with notification on a Friday evening specifying Monday or Tuesday but no specific time frame. Despite prior communication about scheduling, no agreement was reached. When I provided availability for Monday and Tuesday, they could not guarantee a delivery slot and threatened return to the UK if I wasn't present. The driver informed me on Sunday night, arrived at the wrong address, and I received a 6% discount after requesting compensation for the delay. Overall, the experience was disappointing, lacked proactive communication, and I would not recommend their services.

Newcastle upon Tyne to Rome

I dealt with Julie who supported me very well in all my questions and then after agreeing the collection date, Alex took care very well of the boxes collection on a Monday in Newcastle and Vasile contacted me 5 hours before on Sunday for the delivery, and has been very helpful with the delivery in the flat in Rome providing a final great service!

I recently moved a shipment of cargo…

I recently moved a shipment of cargo back to France from the UK. Having contacted numerous companies online we decided to go with Cameroremovals.

Not only were they the most reasonably priced the team (Julie and Chloe) were patient, kind, understanding and thoughtful. I dealt mainly with Julie who gave me a thorough breakdown of everything from the word go and genuinely cared when I mentioned I was nervous about sending our property.

She patiently took every telephone call and emailed me throughout the process. She absolutely went above and beyond helping me.

The driver collected our goods on the day agreed and he was polite and helpful. Our pick up was organised on 17th November 2023 and only 9 days later they arrived to deliver. I received a call an hour before (as told) and everything was intact. The driver who delivered the items was very friendly and polite too. I was so happy with the service.

The driver was a little hasty leaving our property and backed into a plant pot damaging a fence and running over a light in the garden.

I contacted Julie and explained this and within half an hour she had emailed me with hers and her managers apology and offered to compensate us.

I literally couldn't be happier with her professional attitude. Both her and (although I only dealt with Chole once or twice), were so amazing.

I would highly recommend using their company to anyone and should we need to send anything in the future I would definitely call them. They would be top of my list.

Our recent relocation from London to Spain

Our recent relocation from London to Spain was marred by a rather underwhelming experience with Came-ro, a moving company that we had hoped would make the transition smoother. Unfortunately, the reality fell far short of our expectations.

To begin with, Came-ro advertises itself as a cost-effective option, but the reality was quite different. We opted not to incur extra charges for various services, hoping to save money. However, it was disheartening to discover that the company had a penny-pinching approach, piling on additional fees for moving items beyond the first floor, the absence of a lift, and even the proximity of the parking space to the entrance. This made us question if this approach is common in the moving industry; if it is, then the business of moving companies may be problematic at its core.

One positive aspect of our experience was the communication with Came-ro. We never encountered unreturned emails or unresponsive staff. The international sales coordinator was consistently reachable and accommodating, which was a reassuring point amidst our frustrations.

One of the most disheartening aspects of our move was the extended delay in receiving our belongings. Initially, we were told to expect delivery within 7-14 days, but this period passed without any sign of our items. We were later informed that this estimate was based on working days, adding to the frustration. The delay eventually stretched to a full month, far beyond what anyone would consider acceptable.

The final blow came when we finally received our items, only to find that six fragile pieces were damaged. We had taken extra care to wrap them in bubble wrap, but the handling of these items by both the collection and delivery personnel left much to be desired.

In conclusion, our experience with Came-ro was disappointing, to say the least. While the communication was commendable, the unexpected additional charges, extended delays, and mishandling of our belongings were significant drawbacks. We hope that our experience was an exception, but it raises concerns about the moving industry's practices as a whole. For those considering their services, it is advisable to carefully weigh the pros and cons before making a decision.

I initially had reservations due to their significantly lower quote compared to competitors, but my experience turned out to be excellent. Everything went smoothly, and I wholeheartedly recommend their services.

It’s much easier to write a bad review!

It’s much easier to write a bad review, words that are written in haste, frustration and without much thought or at a bad moment, something that’s not gone quite right and has now escalated into a major problem etc.
Personally, I’m amazed to expect that a service that collects anything and everything and the transports it thousands of miles can always go without a hitch or encounter a problem or two along the way.
The company often has to deal with tricky customs clearance and since BREXIT this must now be a huge headache most of the time.
I will be the first to admit that it’s a daunting experience trusting a company that you may never have done business with before, with all your worldly goods, your prized possessions, your memories and your valuables in the hope and expectation that they will arrive in one piece at another destination at a later date.
But we are happy to report that is exactly what happened with our household move from the UK to Italy very recently. The items (all 176 of them) both big and small were collected on the appointed day, at the agreed time and professionally loaded with great care and attention. We had constant communication with the office regarding documentation required by the Italian authorities and whilst we experienced a short delay due to some customs issues, we were then advised of our expected delivery date. We cannot praise and thank the drivers who unloaded our goods enough, two delightful and polite young men who happily completed the task with great care and again took the time and effort to make sure everything was handled carefully and positioned exactly where we requested.
We can only say that the service we received from Came-Ro Ltd was more than we expected considering the very reasonable actual cost.
In business, you can never please all of your customers all of the time, but this time you certainly did!
I would certainly not hesitate to recommend this firm if asked.

Horrendous

Horrendous. This company should be avoided at all costs. Julie and Chloe provide a front of respectability that hides the real cowboy nature of this business, they should be ashamed really as from the reviews on here and Google they obviously know what they are hiding. I received my £3,500 mattress soaking and soiled. Comms were awful throughout, then on the day of delivery I was informed by the boss that I needed to help with the removal or my stuff would be left on the curb. Absolutely Horrendous. AVOID

Very competitive pricing and friendly…

Very competitive pricing and friendly staff. I was moving personal belongings from the UK to Germany, the collection/delivery process was completed within a week which was unexpected but great!

Communication was a little patchy at times but in general good :)

NOT PROFESSIONAL PACKERS

packers arrived late and took them 2 days to pack our goods on completion date on the house, packers damaged our fridge and wardrobe, the wardrobes were factory made and i joined them together on the inside, they didn't know how to separate them so they took off the tops of the wardrobes which served no purpose, i now put the tops on the wardrobes and its no longer square as it was precision made in the factory, they also took apart 3 beds and put all the parts together and not labelled them as to which parts belong to which bed,
they said because i didn't take out insurance they will only pay £40 for the ruined wardrobe, so you will need to take out insurance against incompetent packers. i had a few dishes broken as the packing was not correct. Please avoid using this company.

More than Disappointed

Moving to Spain
We were moving to Spain at the end of January 2023 and had decided to use this company. Contact with Chloe throughout the process had been positive. The packers came on time and were very accommodating as I added a few bits extra on the day.
As they were packing I highlighted to them a box of cut glass glasses and vases that were precious to me, of great sentimental value and irreplaceable. The packers assured me that they would pack these individually themselves. We were pleased with their helpfulness and their efficiency, they went home with a good tip and some alcohol that we were not going to be taking with us.
On receipt of our goods in Spain we found that our hot plate had not arrived (unfortunately we did not realise this for a couple of weeks) and upon opening the box of cut glass crystal and vases, none of them had been wrapped but they had all been left as I had given them, they had just sealed and it put ready to be transported. They hadn't even put a fragile sticker on the box and at some stage in the transportation process the box had got turned upside down.
We now have only two out of our original six sets of cut glass crystal in one piece. Insurance was not worth pursuing as they have a £100 excess and take off wear and tear, never mind the sentimental value.
To say the least we are more than disappointed

I used this company to send my household goods to Spain

I used this company to send my household goods to Spain. What can I say apart from they were absolutely fabulous! From the very start, Chloe kept me informed of the customs process, making it a much easier process for me (I'm not clued up with customs). She went back and forth with her customs agent to ensure I had all the correct documents. Moreover, Chloe made sure I narrowed it down to the correct volume before the collection date. I initially booked in at 35m3, and between myself and Chloe we went back and forth until we had worked out the right volume, which was most helpful because I didnt want to pay for a volume I didnt need. She explained if I was under volume, they would still collect everything, which was reassuring. On the collection date, 3 men turned up, they was so polite and worked very hard, nothing was too much for them (they even earned a bacon sandwich from me). They did some re packing for me because they informed me some of the goods were at risk of damage (im not a great packer!), so they ended up repacking 12 items in total for me, which was expertly wrapped. On delivery, the team unloaded all my goods into each room, nothing was to much trouble for them. They even helped me out with some reassembling (even though I didn't book this), they were so kind and helpful. Chloe kept me updated throughout, she really is a star. Came-Ro, you have some wonderful staff at your company, who really go that extra mile to help customers, and I don't usually leave reviews, but I felt on this occasion I must. Massive thank you to all of you at Came-Ro that made my move a stress free happy move. Love from Sunny Spain

Avoid this company

Avoid this company. A mistake in the quote meant it wasn't suitable for my needs. They kept the deposit even though they provided nothing. They will quote that it's their terms and conditions but any decent company would accept the mistake and return the money.

I regret hiring this removal service…

I regret hiring this removal service for my move. The entire process was a nightmare. The customer service was non-existent and the movers themselves were rude and dismissive. They arrived without any proper packing materials and seemed annoyed when I asked them to use some of my own supplies. They also charged me for additional services that I didn't request or authorize. Overall, I would not recommend this company to anyone looking for a stress-free move.

I had a terrible experience with this…

I had a terrible experience with this removal service. The movers arrived over an hour late and seemed completely unprepared for the job. They were disorganized and struggled to get my furniture out of my apartment without damaging the walls or floors. When they finally arrived at my new place, they dumped everything in the middle of the living room without any regard for where things should go. I spent hours rearranging everything and was left feeling incredibly frustrated.

I was extremely disappointed with the…

I was extremely disappointed with the removal service I received. The movers were extremely unprofessional and careless with my belongings. Several items were damaged and one even went missing. When I tried to file a claim for the damages, the company was unresponsive and unwilling to take responsibility for their actions. I would not recommend this service to anyone.

AVOID AT ALL COST

The collection of my goods was scheduled on the 19th August between 3-6pm (which was an estimate I hadn't been made aware of). I had to call and message multiple times to get updates as at 7pm the driver was still not there to pick up my boxes. He finally showed up around 9:15pm preventing me from meeting a friend who went alone to a show she gifted me with (and which wasn’t refundable). No apology nor compensation, but this wasn't the worst part.

I WAS LEFT WITHOUT MY BELONGINGS FOR OVER 3 MONTHS !

It has been a constant battle to know where my goods were and when they would leave the UK. A total of around 70 back and forth emails/calls to get updates on the status of my move over the past 3 months (Sept-Nov 2022). Although Julie and Chloe Duncan (both managing the clients at Came-Ro’s office) were professional and communicating in a timely manner, I was extremely stressed and worried by this massive delay. At some point, I even started to question if they really had my goods as I couldn’t believe it would take over 3 months to move from the UK to Switzerland with a part load collection whereas I was told it would take 7-14 working days! This affected both my professional and personal life as I felt constantly anxious and worried, and there wasn’t a day going by without thinking about this whole situation, feeling totally powerless.
All my winter clothes were in my move resulting in borrowing clothes and buying new ones. Every week, I was given the same reasons “justifying” why my goods were still at the Birmingham warehouse (i.e. customs’ delays resulting in massive backlogs and so on).

After 2 months, I was so frustrated with Came-Ro that I was going to take the matter further and seek legal advice. This didn’t worry them at all, and I was told that I could phone the warehouse manager (Ciprian, whose English was trying to understand) in order to get further updates regarding the loading and shipment of my goods. It probably was the worst thing to do as he ended up shouting at me saying that if I wasn’t happy, I could come and take my goods back! I was beyond shocked by his aggressive and unprofessional behaviour, and hung up more stressed than ever.
A couple of weeks later, when things finally started to move on, the departure of the truck was again delayed because of another customer (sharing the same truck) who didn’t provide the required paperwork for their move to Switzerland. This resulted in another 3-week delay. At this point, I was hopeless and thought that I would never see my belongings again.

On the 25th November, when I finally had an update from Julie saying that the truck had left the UK and was on its way to France and then Switzerland, I was given vague estimates regarding the delivery date. When the driver got there, I had no notice at all and received an email saying the driver was downstairs! By chance, I was there and available to receive the goods right away.

When I started to open my boxes (some of which were in poor condition) and my suitcases, I immediately saw that everything was damp. All in all, it was a nightmare and I wish no one to go through a move like this. It was not worth the money I paid (£700) and I definitely do not recommend Came-Ro.

Shame on you ……

This removal company damaged our furniture (we have before and after photos and videos). The bed is a sleepmotion hydraulic bed (£1400) as my husband has spinal fusion surgery so needs this. The bed had screws missing, a bent metal post (stood on?) scratched and chipped on the solid wood and a broken foot. The £800 mattress was ripped, dirty and smelt musty. The dressing table had a broken leg and a foot missing. Other smaller items were scratched and broken. Items were quoted as being “blanket wrapped” while in storage. We have receipts as all furniture was new. We have had no explanation as to why the items were in this condition and no apology. I phoned and emailed 2-3 times a week. I tried to negotiate and was offered £100. I sent a quote for the bed to be painted €600 as the restorer said it was beyond repairing. I heard nothing and my emails got a standard response “ I will speak to my director and get back to you”. I informed the company that I would wait 4 weeks from delivery and then start proceedings at the small claims court. This finally prompted a response and we settled on a figure. Emotionally, I have been upset and can’t believe a “professional” company could behave like this and treat our hard earned for belongings in this way. The furniture was for our new extension but we don’t want it now as it’s broken and looks old. I have had furniture for 30 years that hasn’t suffered such treatment.
