Cannon Safe Avis 741

I bought a 48 gun Cannon at Tractor Supply 8 years ago or so. It worked fine until recently when the electronic keypad began to beep uncontrollably. I got online and used the troubleshooting method from you tube and managed to get in. A new battery didn't fix the problem so I had to buy a new keypad since the old one was out of warranty.No real issues there except that is very difficult to get anyone to respond. I began to wonder if I would ever hear from Cannon. This problem took in excess of 3 weeks to fix and in my opinion should have taken 3 days. I must say that the locking system appears to be very poorly built and I am not surprised that there are so many complaints against it. Probably no more Cannons for me.

My experience started strong but then was not receiving response to my e mails and opened other tickets to try to get response. I eventually found where I could reach a live person with chat. After this things went good. Three stars for strong finish but could have been five with better communication.

Do not buy a cannon safe. They don’t respond to customer service tickets, won’t back their products. I bought a cannon safe about 5 years ago and everything was good until I needed a replacement part and my key pad quit working. Replace battery’s still won’t work. I contacted them to see if I can purchase a replacement keypad lock and not reply. Sent several messages no reply. Spend more money getting a safe that back it’s products and can fix things that fail. My cannon safe has become a piece of metal I can’t open because their locks are shit.

I purchased my Cannon Patriot approximately 10 years ago, it arrived with a seal unattached. I overlooked this I lived overseas at the time and didn't have the time to pursue the issue. Fast forward last year I needed some paperwork stored there and asked my grand daughter to retrieve it. The combination no longer worked, upon arrival to my home I tried new batteries to no avail.
I contacted Cannon and after several failed attempts the tech determined that lock was dead and needed tp be replaced. I was informed that they needed. the serial number, original receipt, model number, video of the problem and that they would send a new lock. Well I had lost the receipt (my fault) and I could not access the model number that was on the inside top right side of the locked door. I was informed that without the original receipt that I would have to pay for the lock ok, I dropped the ball there but the locked could not be ordered without the model number, even with a new lock I'd have to pay to have the safe drilled lock installed and re welded (the cost of a new safe). I will never again buy anything with the Cannon name attached

Step by step. Patient & clear communication

I had a lock malfunction on my 20+ year old Cannon gun safe. The fix is a new keypad. I was able to get the needed support for parts, etc via a chat session on the Cannon Safe website. I also was able to get the lock unlocked through a series of steps provided via the chat session, and thereby not having to drill or get a locksmith. Very satisfied with this company.
