Regarding the default information that you reference, we understand how frustrating it can feel to see a late payment on your credit profile without knowing exactly which company reported it. Capitalise sources credit data from Experian, one of the UK's leading credit reference agencies. While Experian provides us with the date, age, and nature of any late payments recorded against your business, they do not share the name of the reporting creditor or supplier with us.
This is a data protection and privacy restriction.
The good news is that this information is available to you directly. As long as you are a company director, you can contact Experian Commercial Support to find out exactly which creditor submitted the late payment data:

Extremely disappointing and misleading service.
I paid for Capitalise Pro to understand my company's credit position and funding eligibility. Instead of receiving clear and reliable information, I was presented with data that appears inconsistent and impossible to properly explain.
My company previously had a business credit score of 36, a £500 credit limit, and was approved for £1,000 funding. The loan was later repaid in full and confirmed as closed by the lender.
Despite this, my profile now shows a score of 9/100 and "Maximum Risk".
When I asked what specific factor caused such a dramatic deterioration, nobody could provide a clear answer.
Capitalise repeatedly states that the data comes from Experian, yet they are unable to explain which event, record, or data source caused the downgrade. I was simply passed back and forth between Capitalise and Experian without receiving any meaningful explanation.
Even more frustrating, I received notifications saying my credit profile had been updated, yet no visible changes appeared on the profile itself.
As a business owner, I expect transparency, accuracy, and accountability when a platform is displaying information that may influence lending decisions. Instead, I experienced confusion, contradictory information, poor communication, and no clear explanation of how my company's risk rating was determined.
I have lost confidence in the service and would not recommend paying for Capitalise Pro unless you are prepared to receive incomplete answers when serious discrepancies arise.
Very disappointing experience.

False advertiser. they hook you in on Google saying they do "business loans with no personal guarantee" .
Then inside the platform the first thing it says on filling out your info.... is that at least 1 director must give a personal guarantee. Waste of time, v annoying .

To clarify: we do work with lenders who don't require a personal guarantee, and we'd never want to suggest otherwise. However, we can see how the wording on our platform could easily read as though a PG is mandatory for everyone, it isn't, and that's something we're already passing on to our product team to improve. The experience you had is below the standard we hold ourselves to, and we're grateful you flagged it.
For context, the director verification step is something we collect upfront to speed up the overall process, but it doesn't mean a personal guarantee is required to proceed or to receive offers.

Capitalise were one of a handful of companies we looked at when we needed funding for our new business van. From the start the service we received was excellent. Our account manager John Martin was exceptional in all our dealings. Calm, patient and courteous, he talked through the options, kept us up to date with the process at every stage and was genuinely a pleasure to work with. Our previous experiences with finance brokers have usually been overly intense with numerous calls and emails trying to push us to make a decision but John was completely different. No pressure, no pushing, we had a real feeling he genuinely cared about what was best for us not just his commission! We would definitely recommend Capitalise and John in particular. Not sure what capitalise job actually is!
Put me in touch with liberty for finance however the amount of back and forth was ridiculous. Trying to run a business yet had to go outside every day 3-4 times daily to act as the middle man between liberty and the garage yet caprice claim commission for this? Capitalise are supposed to be the middle men doing the running about yet all I got was “I’ll ask them” “they said this” “they said can you ring the garage”! I thought by paying commission they’d be the ones to phone around for me, I feel like I’ve done all the hard work and they’ve clicked commission for it!!
Each time I needed support on a quick basis it took hours for a reply via WhatsApp, and if I called it just rang off the hook.
If anything all capitalise did was slow everything down and then claim commission for this! Even today after all finalised, I sent a WhatsApp at 7:48am and it’s now 10:30am and it’s still unread!
Problem after problem, I think it’s a case of too many chefs!!
Anyone wanting business finance I strongly recommend you just sort it yourself, less stress, less hassle, much faster and a lot cheaper!!
