I attended a casting for The Post…
I attended a casting for The Post Office for a Father Christmas role at Coptic Street Studios through Casting Talent. It was well organised by Coralie Rose Casting, my only criticism was the lack of parking. I had to shout in my audition and didn't shout loud enough the first time, apparently, but got it right the second time. I used to work as an engineer and my second shout was what I like to call an 'on-site' shout of great volume. I had to walk around in slow motion during my performance, which I think the director quite liked. I greatly enjoyed the experience.
and regarding cost Most Casting agencies will expect you to have a portfolio (a selection of recent up to sate professionally taken photos of yourself in a variety of costumes) and this will cost you around 150 pounds to book a session and approx 300 for up to 16 photos with 3 of them 'retouched'. It is NOT unusual for an agency to arrange a photo shoot if you do not have an up to date portfolio and you will have to pay to be considered. But then - the photos are your property and you can use them time and again with many applications and would be agents. casting talent is a legitimate agency - the money they ask you for are the photos NOT money to them and when they take you on (represent you) they, like all agents will take 20% of your earnings. This practice is common with NON EXCLUSIVE agencies (meaning you can accept multiple representation) but is NOT common practice with EXCLUSIVE agents who provide a more personal service tailored to you.
