I hate writing negative reviews, but after two consecutive Sundays making the drive from Queens to Cava on Old Country Road in Westbury, I feel compelled to share my experience.
Both visits were around 9:00 PM, a full two hours before the restaurant’s stated 11:00 PM closing time, yet a significant portion of the menu was unavailable. During my visits, they were out of pickled onions, multiple dressings, lentils, soda caps, and even straws. Last week, the lentils that were available appeared overcooked and burnt. This week, there were no lentils at all.
The most concerning part of my experience happened today. While preparing my bowl, the employee accidentally added two extra pieces of falafel. Instead of leaving them in the bowl or using a utensil to remove them, she reached directly into my food with her hand, removed the falafel, and threw it away. I found this to be unsanitary and unnecessarily wasteful.
I understand that restaurants can occasionally run out of ingredients, but when the same issues occur on multiple visits—especially well before closing time—it points to a larger problem with inventory management and customer service.
Driving from Queens to Long Island only to find so many menu items unavailable, combined with the food handling practices I witnessed, left me very disappointed. I hope management takes these concerns seriously because the restaurant has potential, but the experience has not matched expectations.
Nice variety, tasty ingredients, excellent customer experience in Delray Beach /Davon was exceptional
Placed an order for pick up at work. When I left to pick up 1 order was not available, they were out of Salmon, no one bothered letting us know.
The lamb pita ordered was dripping with grease, so much that I couldn't eat it, there was maybe an ounce of lamb on this oversized greasy pita. I paid $4 for the eggplant dip that was maybe only 4oz, way too expensive for what I paid.
Menu is very sparse as well

The food Is great and I always enjoy it when I go but, I took my grandmother there for lunch and she was very sick with FOOD POISONING, she threw up everywhere, and a stomach ache, and diahrreha. I will NOT being coming back to this restraunt or be recommending it to anyone! The only reason I gave this place a 2 star review is because the food was decent. How that you enjoy your time at BAD FOOD RESRUANT!!!
I recently went to the Cava location at 1535 3rd Ave in Manhattan. I had a wonderful experience. The food was fresh and delicious. When I went to checkout Erika was pleasant. I wish there were more customer service people like her. Cava keep up the good work.
Never arrived, refused to refund, this place is a total scam.
I had a bad experience there. The person who finished my order was not helpful and not careful when she handled my food. There are safety concerns. When I call, they disconnect me. I am not able to eat the food as it does not feel clean, and I need a refund asap. Yessenia, the manager, is not helpful. This place should be reported to the health department asap.
I went to the Chestnut Hill MA location today May 18 around 12:00 noon. I went to order and noticed the lettuce was brown - indicating it was old. The server said it was new that day and if correct it would not look like that. What he should have said you are correct and then go and get new lettuce. I have done Customer Service my entire carrier and the customer is always right. English was not his first language and the other server that stepped in to help directed him to use the other lettuce and said NO. Thanks for listening to me I love Cava
Every single time order DRINKS MISSING OR SAUCE NOT IN THE BAG 4TH TIME AND LAST TIME I ORDER MY FOOD HAS CIGARETTE ASHES ON THE FOOD AND IN THE BAG. DISGUSTING 🤢 CAVA NEED TO MAKE SURE THAT THESE UBER OR DOORDASH DRIVERS PICK UP THE ENTIRE ORDER FOR 64$ I’m Very ANGRY
I’ve been so impressed with the quality of the food and the very friendly staff At the Castle Rock, Colorado location. Kia and Sophia deserve special mention; They made my whole dining experience wonderful. Thanks, gals! You’re the heart and soul of your company.
First time trying them, and they seriously cheated me out of protein. I ordered a bowl with a 1/2 chicken 1/2 meatball; I literally only found one and a half meatball and 2 small chunks of chicken. I've never been cheated this bad before. I'll stick to Gyro Kings and not try something different after this experience.
The idea is great -- however, at my local store, There's usually something wrong, like a mischarge, under-cooked vegetables, or, in today's case, hard and stale pita chips.
The less you order, the better your odds.
