Insightful survey

The whole process was helpful and very informative. I really liked that the improvements suggested were simple and cheap to address. The surveyor was really pleasant and made everything easy to understand.

Great service! Very thorough going through room by room, all the nooks and crannies. Came up with quite a few surprises I didn't know about. Now I can work on sorting the house out to be more thermally efficient and know where to concentrate my efforts.

Well worth the time and money. The survey pointed out a host of areas that were letting cold air in, most of which are quick DIY fixes. Rob was friendly, knowledgable, and on time.

Very efficient service with knowledgeable technical staff who carried out a thorough survey of the property highlighting areas of heat and energy loss with some very simple fixes to make the house more airtight. It was an eye opener to see our new build EPC B rated have so many small snags. Would recommend to everyone.

Excellent surveyor, knowledgeable, helpful and pragmatic. Thermal measuremens showed clearly where the problems were and possible solutions provided. Well worth the cost; you will get your money back with the energy savings made for a modest spend in most cases.

The service is very useful and provides lots of information that helped identify areas of improvement in the house.

The support level from the team was great and they were really helpful in obtaining the voucher to help save money on the survey.

I would definitely recommend this to those interested in making their houses warmer.

Our CHEESE survey informed and kick started our retrofit plans. A really clear and well+planned service, all the information and thermal imaging video provided for your records, and a brilliant focus on all the many small ways you haven't realised that you are leaking heat - with practical and low cost suggestions for solving them. Can't recommend this enough - we'll be back for another survey when we've completed our current plans, to check the results - and plan the next steps!

Really insightful experience
They surveyor Dori was very friendly and generous with her time. I was able to see a new side of my house and was surprised how many things this survey helped me identify as needing improvement.
At the end of the survey you get a memory stick with the entire thermal imaging video plus the audio of your discussion with the surveyor (mine was 2 hrs!).

Getting a voucher towards the cost of the survey from Retrofit meant we could crack on and have a survey - thank you. The surveyor, Rob, was a really helpful & knowledgeable man. He explained where the drafts and other issues are and how some might be tackled by DIY. We have made a few quick win changes already, regarding draft proofing, but need to develop a mid/long term plan for significant insulation improvements in the future

I have just moved into my home and wanted to have in depth knowledge to improve the energy efficiency of my property. an EPC is not always an accurate indication of how well your property performs in terms of energy efficiency. I was glad to receive a discount voucher through retrofit west, otherwise it might have taken me a while to save to pay for the CHEESE survey. The surveyor was amazing , knowledgeable and he was giving me options to improve energy efficiency that were useful. Now I know where the draughty parts of the property are, and I managed to make some immediate improvement by taping gaps underneath my kitchen cabinet( which were making my floor freezing cold! and I did not know!) . I also got reflective radiator panels and secondary glazing films after the surveyor's advice

Very helpful and the heat surveyor Dori was very informative and patient during their explanations. They managed to discover a few issues with our house.

This was so easy and so usefull. A very competant, polite and freindly man gave me a lot of usefull advice in a way that I felt I could easy make some very benificial fixes. I now know were the drafts in my lounge come from and am looking forward to fixing them and enjoying a cheaper heating.

A very helpful survey that flagged up issues we weren’t aware of and gave us tips on how to tackle our problem areas economically. Very informative and helpful. We have already started to make improvements and have a clear pathway now to warm up our house and reduce our carbon footprint.

The survey was comprehensive and carried out with considerable care and attention to detail. It raised several issues that we hadn't been aware of, some of which will be easy to rectify. The surveyor was extremely polite, considerate and helpful. Definitely worth it.

It was a very useful survey that high lighted a number of areas in my house where I was losing heat . Some of these I can deal with myself (such as insulating loft hatch) but some are not practical to fix economically

Survey done with minimum of disruption and took about two hours max . Time to do it depends on size of your home .

Rob performed the survey professionally, showing great passion for detecting heat loss and draughts.
I thought the survey would be external. Instead, it was all done internally, examining every window, door, nook, cranny and cupboard. I was blown- away by the detail of the temperature difference shown in the pictures on the small handheld pad linked to Rob's camera.
I would not hesitate to do this again next year after I have changed the seals on my double glazing, fixed the draughts in my bedroom cupboard ceilings and sealed the drainage pipes from the bathroom going outside.
The above are all small changes in outlay that will make a big difference in lowering energy consumption and making the house more comfortable.
Every homebuyer should get this survey, and energy suppliers should provide this service.
If this service were available to every household, significant reductions in bills, fuel poverty, and CO2 emissions would result.
