Promises made upfront were not delivered

We engaged this firm on a multi-month retainer based on clear expectations set during the sales process. We were told to expect a consistent pipeline of relevant opportunities and regular introductions to business owners.

In reality, the volume and quality of opportunities fell significantly short. The few introductions that were suggested rarely progressed, and in most cases, we were unable to get in front of actual sellers. Explanations were often vague, and momentum quickly dropped after the initial onboarding period.

Communication also became inconsistent over time. When we asked for a clear pipeline or status update, responses lacked detail and did not provide a transparent view of progress.

Another concern was credibility. The events and ecosystem around the firm appeared to involve a very small, recurring group of “clients,” many of whom are also featured in their marketing. This created the impression of a closed loop rather than a broad, active network.

We entered the engagement with a clear brief and were reassured it was achievable. However, the delivery did not align with what was sold. After several months, there was no meaningful progress or tangible outcome.

Overall, this did not represent good value for the level of fees charged, and we would advise others to carefully validate what is realistically deliverable before committing.

Chelsea Corporate take a retainer for 3 months minimum of atleast £1000 per month to help entrepreneurs find businesses. At the time of signing contract they say that there are a large number of off market transactions they have to offer. I paid them for 4 months and all I got were excuses that it's a challenging market to buy. Very weak team with no idea how to assist buyers.
