Chet Valley Vineyard is a family run vineyard and winery located 9 miles south of Norwich in South Norfolk. Owner and winemaker John Hemmant produces award winning still and sparkling wines using sustainable practices and with a great respect towards nature. He has gained recognition and certification as a sustainable vineyard by WineGB the professional body which oversees the industry. Regular vineyard tours and wine tastings are run on Wednesday and Saturdays from April until harvest time in October. Lunches and Picnics are also available to book on the vineyard in the warmer months. Vineyard holidays can be booked in the Vine House Cottage, a self catering holiday cottage with views over the vineyard. See website for details. It is possible to buy our wines on line and also to purchase gift vouchers, membership our our wine clubs and to lease vines. Regular events are held throughout the year in the winery and on the wine meadow amongst the vines. Chet Valley Vineyards hand crafted wines are made from cool climate grapes grown in our own vineyard here in South Norfolk. These grapes are hand picked at harvest time in September and October and by volunteers at our community harvest weekends in October which are a great opportunity for socialising with local friends and enthusiasts. We grow several white grape varieties including Solaris, Phoenix, Schoenburger, Chardonnay, and Seyval Blanc plus red varieties such as Pinot Noir, Pinot Meuniere, Cabernet Noir, Regent, Rondo and Dornfelder
