Horrible, waste of time and money. Be careful what you are signing, no possible to cancel unless you get it in writing from them. Horrible costumer service.

Robotic ejector

I have made a few applications to this company, and I have to say that, unlike other companies, I don’t find the process very good. I fit extremely well with the roles, yet my applications are consistently rejected very quickly, often seemingly robotically. As others have noted, the process feels automated and impersonal, and I do not find it very professional.

Today I received a HUGE email with a load of photos of some young couple who used a real estate agent in a a group incentive scheme for real estate agents in an area I've never visited and never want to go, thousands of miles from me. No way I could ever have got on anyone's estates list there. But it was so elaborate it somehow looked like it might be real even though it had to be spam so I checked where it came from. I had assumed Cision would come up as a spammer but was amazed that Google at any rate thinks they're legit. Well, I blocked them, but if you are thinking of actually paying to use them, just don't. You could probably find cheaper dodgy ways of pointlessly spamming random people all over the world and getting blocked immediately.

Beware the Cision automatic renewal clause

Cision has an automatic renewal clause hidden in the fine print that is hard to see. And as the subscription is a once off payment you forget about it until you get charged 12 months later. They are extremely aggressive holding you to the contract even if you have not used it.
With AI, they will fall away as this data and information can be collected for less with an AI Agent

I'm looking forward very much to ending our relationship with Cision due to ongoing problems - constant missing coverage, Teams integration not working and just really painful follow up required. Sales team sold us a product that doesn't function as promised. Avoid

Disaster!!!

They added my personal e-mail to their database, so for the last 2 weeks I have been receiving e-mails in French nonstop!!! And to remove my e-mail form their data, they are requesting me to have Team's meeting!!!

Questionable Auto-renewal policy

Questionable Auto-renewal policy, and even after canceling the auto renewal, they still charged me for membership. As another reviewer wrote, contracts are renewed automatically unless canceled at least three months before the end date. This setup feels intentionally designed to trap customers into another year of services without their explicit consent. How many people read that fine print and remember it nine months later? In addition, I've used them for two different press releases, and neither had any results that even made sense. Their "results" were in other states with media that wasn't even connected with our industry with no proof of publication.

Worst decision our agency has made in a long time!

Maybe the worst customer service in this business! Probably the worst customer service on the market.
Customer service didn't get in touch for days, then they sent us the same standardized email for over 12 (!) weeks saying that they were looking into the problem and that another department was needed.
In the end, we received an email saying that the problem could not be resolved.

Some expensive services were simply not available and were not refunded.

The quality of the contacts, mailings and media monitoring is below average and costs far too much.

All in all, unfortunately the worst decision our agency has made in a long time!

DO NOT USE CISION THEY USE DUBIOUS TECHINQUES TO MAKE YOU SPEND MONEY

My experience with Cision was deeply disappointing, largely due to what I perceive as questionable business practices. While the company presents itself as a leading platform for public relations and communications, its approach to customer relationships left me feeling misled and undervalued.

Questionable Business Practices
One of the most prominent issues I faced with Cision was their auto-renewal policy. Contracts are renewed automatically unless canceled at least three months before the end date. This setup feels intentionally designed to trap customers into another year of services without their explicit consent. For those who may not thoroughly review the fine print, this can come as an unpleasant surprise and feels less about customer satisfaction and more about securing additional revenue.

To make matters worse, the company employs aggressive upselling tactics. On several occasions, I found myself charged for services and upgrades I didn’t explicitly ask for or agree to. This practice gives the impression of a lack of transparency, making it difficult to trust their intentions. Customers should not have to comb through every invoice or interaction to ensure they're not being billed for unwanted services.

High Costs Without the Value
The pricing at Cision is undeniably steep. Premium costs should typically come with premium performance, but that was far from what I experienced. Even as a professional copywriter with extensive expertise, my press releases performed poorly on their platform. Despite promises of strong distribution and notable visibility, the results fell short, leaving me questioning the platform’s effectiveness. Ultimately, the return on investment did not justify the significant expense.

Poor Customer Service
Adding to the frustration, the customer service offered by Cision left much to be desired. When a system update was introduced, I reached out for support, only to discover that the representative I contacted didn’t understand how to use the new system. This lack of knowledge and preparedness further eroded my experience, as I received little to no help resolving the issues I faced. A platform of this scale should provide training and accessible assistance to its customers, but that was not my experience.

Final Thoughts
Cision’s questionable practices, including their rigid auto-renewal policy and aggressive upselling tactics, make it difficult to view the company as a trustworthy partner. Combined with their high pricing, disappointing performance outcomes, and inadequate customer support, my overall experience was far beneath expectations.

If you’re considering Cision, I strongly urge you to scrutinize the contract terms, closely monitor all charges, and explore other platforms that place greater emphasis on transparency, honesty, and customer success.

Poor service and poor quality database results

This company has outsourced everything to AI and it shows. You can't easily get hold of anyone on support and basic media contacts and main UK publications are not easily found on the platform. It was much better when it was Gorkana and there were humans doing research behind the scenes. The database is also not easy to use.

Legit Service with a High Price

First of all, this is not a scam service. I've been using them now for close to 5 years, and each and every worker there is legit, you can find them on linkedin, chat over phone etc.

Second, yes, I agree, it's expensive.

I also agree that the team is very hands on during the sales process, but then once the PR is out you're left to your means.

Nowadays there are tons of PR push services out there, and I think Cision lost their charm, but the team is strong and I hope they will improve the service going forward.

For the moderators reference, I've been only using their PR Push services.

Poor Value

In my experience, the price does not match the quality of the results. The team is extremely hands-on during the sales process, but then very hands-off despite their claims to be there for you.

Scam calls from them, doesn't ring when you call back eventually goes to a recording of a guy pretending to pick up and speak to you

Disappointing and unprofessional

We had high hopes that this would really help our business and build our brand. All based on the very slick and detailed demonstration given by the sales team member we initially dealt with. He was very helpful. However, once the money was paid, the initial 12 month contract signed, and we were handed over to our 'account manager', the support was minimal to nothing. No responses to emails and our 'account manager' didn't provide a phone number. The software is painfully slow and freezes regularly. They don't appear to update their contact lists, as they claim. For one press release I had a 25% 'bounce back', which is pretty high, when they claim their database is updated by a "huge research team that do nothing other than check and update contacts". Buyer beware: There is a 90 day cancellation policy or the contact automatically renews when the year is up. Luckily we weren't caught out!

Cision are scammers

Cision are scammers. They forced me to sign a contract for two years. I had to prepay for all news releases for one year over $10,000. I didn't even used them all because there was almost zero impact from their releases. They are not obviously high rated by other Online News outlets and there is no any reputable News agencies who pick up their PR. I was surprised when next year I received a collection request for thousends of dollars and the explanation was that they don't charged based on actual work but based on contracts.

We would give 0 stars if possible

We would give 0 stars if possible. This is the most overpriced and misleading company we have dealt with in more than 25 years. They made promises to us about distribution and outcomes that were untrue. They have no flexibility and terrible customer service. Just awful!

A horrible company to deal with

A horrible, unprofessional company that harass you to pay them saying anything you want to hear, then once you have paid everything change. Their staff are incompetent and use Indian call centres to chase you for more info without any security. Do not trust these people or you will be taken for ride
