City Sightseeing New York Avis 

I was so excited to go to New York and have fun so I bought the 48 hr hop-on hop-off tour. I was so disappointed because the staff doesn't seem to be helpful. I approached them to ask for directions and suggestions for the next stop. They were very friendly when I first approached them, and asked me if I want to purchase a tour package. Their friendliness changed when I said I have already purchased one and I just need help with directions. They almost didn't want to help me and just made me cross the street and told me to catch the next bus, without clear directions. I ended up using the "Via" app. I only boarded the bus once, which is so sad and is absolutely not worthy of the price I paid. The staff at the empire state office where I bought the ticket was so kind and helpful though. Other than that, no bueno.

Overall the tour was "tour"ible... traffic was crazy and there was no heat to be found anywhere on the bus... seriously why would they not have heat running at least under the seats. The guide was nice but we sat so long in traffic that he ran out of things to say... definitely wouldn't spend the money on this again... rather take the train and walk through the city!!!

The tours were good we choose the 2day pass. The only thing that was really frustrating is that we bought the tickets online with a very small discount then still needed to go to the office to get the receipt. We waited in that line for a hour. In Los Angeles we used city sight seeing aswel and bought the tickets online and got the receipt printed on the buss which is way more convient.

We had a large group of eight and throughout two days had 4 guides, two were wonderful middle aged blond haired gentlemen, other two were birds that you couldn't understand, one that was so rude to my group I had asked for his name..he and the driver would not give out

If you are visiting new York City I will recommend it if you want to know the city, and easy to locate everywhere in NY

We bought the $59 hop on/off NYC 48 hour pass. We learned quickly that the enjoyment and education of the tour is greatly dependent on the guide/narrator. Our first tour guide (going uptown) seemed bored with his job. The Brooklyn tour with Jose was excellent. The Downtown tour was great. I'd do it again.

The total says it all, the tours around New York were great, they went to all the key places, and the tour guides on the busses we're fantastic too, each one providing their own tidbits of wisdom. Would recommend to anyone wanting to visit New York!

I was excited for the value I knew I was getting when I bought the passes. It turned out to be EVEN BETTER than advertised!! When going to the various tourist destinations, there were separate lines for people with vouchers. This allowed us to skip line, after line, after line! That made everything that much more enjoyable!
However, don't fall for the $25 'skip the bus line' upgrade when you go to pick up your vouchers. We were there for Thanksgiving week. It was a very busy time and we were able to get on a bus every time without any issue.

The tours offered for the New York All Around Town was great. My only reservation was the first tour we took on the Downtown Bus. The Live tour guide had such an angry demeanor, even though he said that's how Brooklyn people are. However, when we got onto the Uptown Bus Tour, you could tell the difference of the much nicer tour guide. In the end, the Bus Tour was excellent and we were able to get on and off at our convenience.

We were able to go to 6 of the 7 attractions we wanted, but we still were able to pay a lot less than if we went to each one individually.

The only issue we encountered (which is why I am rating this 4 stars) is that when we went to the Empire State Building (the 6th attraction we were seeing), we were told that there were a group of tickets that were marked for the ESB, although I was not told this by the person who provided me with the vouchers. Thankfully, someone in the ESB office was able to re-print by vouchers and convert them to working vouchers for the ESB.

We will definitely use your buses in the future and will spread the good news to all of our friends who might be visiting NYC.....

You really need to switch from 10 yards of paper slips for tickets over to booklets. It was just too cumbersome and awkward.

City Sightseeing has not enough buses compared with other companies. For example, while we waited for our bus, six Big Bus buses passed in front of us. Also, tour guides were very rude telling people to be silent. They were all seated at the top of the bus under the plastic roof taking 2 seats while customers were seated in the open. Definitely, I do not recommend them.

Get the VIP pass 25 dollars no queing. Brilliant

I'm here on business and only had one day for sightseeing. Took the tour bus and did the uptown and downtown tours. Great experience and saw most of NY in those few hours. Guides were great, especially Sally on the uptown tour. Great sense of humour and made the tour for me!

Lots of Problems and the Vouchers, no help by the staff, unfriendly!

The routes were inventive and covered known highlights and lesser known landmarks. The drivers also navigated the traffic well. Some guides were better informed than others, but that is the luck of the draw.

The tour was great fun and informative however the photographer was very annoying demanding and RUDE....5 stars for the city sight seeing tour company -500 stars for the photographer

We purchased the FreeStyle pass on line. The process to pick up your tickets is seamless. The tour guides are very informative and humorous, however one of the guides on the bus talked about drinking and bars constantly just FYI.

have not used these tickets, but going to New York next week, so will ride the red bus then.
