Clarks - Halifax Avis 24

Odd experience- went to go for kids school shoes.
When I came to pay the woman said oh we have a discount running I’ve put it through with 10% off, which also means you get some free wipes.
I didn’t really want the wipes but thought fine whatever, if they’re free. When I checked the receipt she had charged me £5 for the wipes. I queried this and got told to get the discount we charge for the wipes but overall you’ve paid the same price as if you hadn’t have got the discount.
So just odd really as felt like they were trying to make out I was getting a good deal when really I was paying the same price but with some wipes I didn’t actually want…?!

Served by Maria in the Halifax store. Fantastic experience for us with our 2 year old. Maria really took her time with us and was really wonderful with our daughter. Making the whole experience enjoyable. We came away with 2 pairs of shoes and a backpack, that was because of Maria’s customer service.

Visit to Halifax and nothing was too much trouble for the staff, Olivia and Sally. I wanted Velcro fastening in a half size and a wide fitting, and they are really comfortable. My partner, who has mobility issues loves her lace ups with a secret zip that helps you put them on and take them off. Lovely experience all round

Sam at the Halifax branch was excellent on a busy day just before the start of school. Kind, knowledgeable and efficient, just what was needed.

We had a fantastic experience when we visited the Halifax store today to have our child’s feet measured. The young man at the desk downstairs gave a warm welcome and Sally (who was covering the children’s section upstairs) was absolutely brilliant. Sally was knowledgeable, recalled our child’s name (I am terrible at remembering names) when speaking to her, and made some fantastic suggestions when the preferred shoe wasn’t available.

After a few visits to the Bradford store, I wasn’t too keen on returning to Clarks, but the service received from Sally today has changed my opinion, and I am keen to return in August to purchase school shoes.

Linda at Clarks in Halifax helped me so much today. I have never bought baby shoes before and I needed to buy my baby his first pair. She was great with him and he loved her, she explained everything that was important to look for in his first shoes and asked questions to make sure she was recommending the right type based on how far along with his walking he is. She also measured both of his feet very carefully to get the right size shoe, and tried them on him for me with me helping him to stand up. He was beaming the whole time because Linda was chatting to him and being really friendly. I would recommend Clarks to anyone needing children's shoes and will certainly be going back when baby needs his next pair

Can I just say thank you to Linda at the Halifax Clark’s store. My sons shoes weren’t right and needed different ones. She was o helpful is swapping the shoes and getting the right ones for my son. Thank you again you are a credit to the store

I ordered a pair of boots in store. They were very uncomfortable, so I took them back.

The young sales assistant was very pleasant and professional, but unfortunately her older colleague (a supervisor? The manager?) was determined to pressure me into an exchange rather than a refund. I am afraid I ruined her day by insisting on the refund. Her whole attitude was surly and unprofessional, verging, in fact, on bullying.

Following this experience I am reluctant to shop in store at Halifax again. This is a shame because it is my local store, and most of the staff are lovely.

A slight delay in this review. I went to Clarks in Halifax in August 2024. I had the absolute pleasure of having Linda who works there helping me and my daughter with her first pair of school shoes. She went absolutely above and beyond to help my daughter get the right size for daughters awkward feet! Linda was so helpful, very knowledgeable as I believe she has been working there a very long time so she definitely knows her stuff! She was so friendly and brilliant with my children. When I came back to collect the shoes once they were delivered, I personally asked for Linda again to help to ensure they fit perfectly and she was more than happy to help. She remembered us which shows above and beyond for customer service and she even gave my daughter some colouring and a big pack of crayons to take home with her! Could not fault the whole process or Linda herself and I will be definitely coming back for my sons first schools shoes next year and for the next pair for my daughter! Hopefully Linda is still working there by then! 10/10

Olivia H helped us find my twins’ back to school shoes and she was brilliant - it was very busy in the shop but she was kind, helpful and calm throughout. We came away with 2 pairs of shoes and 2 pairs of trainers, and the kids were really happy with them. Fantastic, thanks Olivia H!

I went to Clarks Halifax to kit out our 2 sons for their school shoes. Gillian was brilliant. She listened to their requirements and what shoes they would like. She patiently dealt with both boys one at a time with 1 on 1 attention and focus. Their choices of shoes were in stock which saved me having to go elsewhere. She also flagged the service of home delivery if it was required and needed.

She was patient, efficient and personable asking about their holidays to make them feel at ease whilst they tried on the school shoes. She made the whole shoe shopping spot on. Highly recommend this branch of Clarks in Halifax, W Yorkshire.

She was kind, caring, patient and so helpful with sorting out my daughters school shoes. She brought many styles to try and then ordered the correct size for the ones she picked. I’ve been bringing my kids to Clark’s for ten years and always get good service but this time I went to the Halifax store and received the best service I’ve ever had, Ben was absolutely amazing helping my two children (who have additional needs) find the perfect shoes. Ben was kind, patient and amusing. Legend. Thank you
