I discovered Clayspire online after hours of research across platforms in search of a pretty and unglazed Mediterranean cooking vessel for my beloved elderly aunt, who'd grown up using unglazed earthenware as a young girl and, in her old age, fancied one again. So I threw myself into the internet in search of an unglazed pot from the Balkans and Turkey, one that might give her the sensation of being young again, but without the hardships of life in concentration camps.

And Clayspire delivered! The perfectly packaged and well-made unglazed terracotta pot has been earning me praises every week since mid-December! My aunt—already an excellent cook—says everything tastes better again! And I don't doubt her, because that's what clay pots do: they amplify everything, be it taste or sound.

I cook with clay pots daily and happen to know quite a bit about them, and Erdinç went above and beyond in answering my questions about the pot and their company and in accommodating my needs. He was even generous enough to send the seasoning instructions to my aunt in the language she reads: Albanian. And for that I'm deeply grateful.

Made by an accomplished potter and artist, the Clayspire unglazed cooking vessel I got my aunt seems to be of the highest quality, and that is probably true of everything else they sell, since Turkey has some of the best potters in the region and has the most thriving pottery industry in the Mediterranean. I'm looking forward to getting myself a Clayspire unglazed red clay pot like the one I got my aunt, and possibly other ceramics from their unique collection. My boyfriend has his eye on the unique phone/sound amplifiers, which must be quite practical in the kitchen when I'm cooking and making noise and also trying to listen to podcasts from my phone.
