Beautiful location and upkeep. Staff pleasant and helpful. Only reason we’ve awarded 4 stars is the very high cost of using the hall for any time over the free hour that is offered with the plot.

Clayton Wood natural burial ground is set in 15 acres of countryside within the South Downs National Park. You can be part of a new English wood that will be protected from development. Situated below the Jack and Jill Windmills, our beautiful site has various dedicated areas for full natural burial and cremated remains, as well as memorial scattering lawns, surrounded by native trees for future generations to enjoy.

A Special Place
Tess was so helpful and understanding, she took the time to explain everything and gave us time .

Clayton Wood is a wonderful resting place for anyone at one with nature. Both parents are there now overlooked by the Downs. It’s peaceful and staff are helpful.

Sad but lovely
Well first of all it was a lovely sunny day and my children and I were able to scatter my husbands ashes
on our own. It was a sad occasion but lovely, and the fields of marguerites made it even better as my husband loved them. He is resting in the best place.
The staff were brilliant and efficient throughout.

From the first visit to Clayton Wood to arrange a resting place for my parents, I met Jess and the team. Everything was dealt with in such a lovely way, with understanding, empathy, sensitivity and care. The whole process was faultless. Thank you, my parents are now at a lovely place of rest.

It wasnt a problem, especially as in keeping with the whole natural site but the pathway is muddy, if it's rained, so would recommend waterproof footwear.
Tess and the team were so very kind, supportive and helpful throughout our whole experience from initial advice, right through to the celebrating of Dad's life. They listened well and everything was very personal. The team went out of their way to help us carry out a very personal service. The site itself is very peaceful, which helps in the circumstances.
