I joined last year & I think fair to say I’m the oldest, I do whatever I can on the pitch which usually means staying in one half of the pitch! No pressure and thoroughly enjoyable, usually followed by a welcome pint at the local for a chat.

Best thing I've signed up to in years. Hadn't played in 10+ years, but the group is welcoming of all levels of players. Run really well by Daz who's a top bloke. Highlight of my week.

I am not from the area originally, so I don't really have any friends nearby (no bleeding heart story, I am comfortable with that) and my partner seen the page on Facebook. She pushed me to join and honestly one of the best things I have done for a good while. All are extremely friendly and welcoming, the football is far more competitive then I expected but nobody even batted an eye lid at my disgraceful touch and terrible fitness.
I couldn't say enough good things about this group and Daz for putting this all together. Definitely the highlight of my week.

Joining Club 45 was a big step for me, but football helped me get past my anxiety. It’s one of the best decisions I’ve made, great people, great laughs, and a brilliant atmosphere.

I am so glad that I found Daz and Club 45! First and foremost this has been a great opportunity to meet new friends, men and women and some youngsters too! The women’s group plays on a Wednesday 8-9 at Shavington sports centre and rain or shine we get together for fun! All ages play, I am 60 this year and feel like I fit in well with the others, no matter what their age and ability. It is a very friendly and welcoming group! Even though generally I’m slower than most and maybe not at the same level of ability, there is no judgment, we are a team together! We celebrate and laugh together! Daz coaches us and teaches us new skills and ways to play better as a team. I love the fact that I am learning and improving, sometimes in little ways but that’s ok! My fitness has improved each week too and helps motivate me to exercise more. I feel better physically and mentally for joining the club 45 team.

It had been a long time since I'd been exercising, let alone playing football. But joining this group last year has been transformative. Excellent organisation, lots of options, and importantly a genuinely fantastic group of people to play alongside and form bonds with. I play twice a week now and wouldn't have it any other way. Couldn't recommend it highly enough. Cast any doubts aside and give it a go, skill/fitness levels are not important.
