Coast to Coast Van Lines Avis 

One star. Our move with Coast to Coast Van Lines from Alabama to Texas was a nightmare. Our belongings arrived more than two weeks after pickup, with no meaningful delivery updates. Their representatives, Dominic and Crystal, were extremely uncooperative with both my spouse and me and would yell at us when we asked for updates. When we requested delivery dates, they mocked us, saying they “do not have a jet” to speed things up.

They also explicitly told us they DO NOT subcontract. Yet at delivery, the driver brought in local workers in San Antonio and told us they subcontract all the time. This directly contradicted what we had been told.

More than half our boxes arrived crushed. Glassware and an irreplaceable family heirloom were broken, furniture was soaked in an unidentified liquid, and multiple items and parts were missing. Our closet and bookshelves were left unassembled and unusable. We documented thousands of dollars in damage and losses.

The bill also jumped from a $4,900 quote to $8,756.10 without a clear explanation. Despite receiving photos and videos of the damage, the company remained rude and uncooperative. Extensive damage, contradictory information, and hostile treatment made this a deeply regrettable experience. Based on our experience, I strongly advise avoiding this company.

My experience with Coast to Coast Van Lines was appalling. I would never use this company again and strongly caution others considering an interstate move with them.

I was originally provided a binding estimate through Vantage for a 702-cubic-foot shipment that included storage/redelivery and specifically listed “Direct Delivery For 7/27/2026.” At pickup, I was confronted with substantial additional charges. What is particularly troubling is that the Coast to Coast paperwork also appears to list the shipment at 702 cubic feet.

Far worse was the condition in which my belongings arrived after being in storage. I discovered extensive rodent droppings and apparent urine contamination throughout multiple boxes. Clothing, books, bags, dry food/spice boxes, plastic containers and other belongings were contaminated and/or damaged. Rodents had chewed through clothing, books, containers and other possessions. My mattress and furniture were also damaged. I have extensive photographic evidence documenting the condition of my belongings.

The extent of the rodent contamination was shocking and completely unacceptable. I have moved more than 10 times over approximately 17 years and have previously kept belongings in climate-controlled storage for as long as six months without ever experiencing anything remotely comparable to this.

I followed Coast to Coast's claims process, submitted an itemized claim and extensive photographic documentation, and estimated my property loss at approximately $8,000.

Their response was an offer of **$93**.

I formally disputed that determination. Coast to Coast then added just **$50**, bringing what they explicitly called their **“COMPANY FINAL OFFER” to $143**.

Equally alarming are the conditions attached to receiving that $143. Their settlement requires me to sign and notarize a broad Global Release of Liability. The document states that upon acceptance I would withdraw complaints to government agencies, consumer groups such as the BBB, media organizations, internet websites and credit-card agencies, and that no further complaints or statements could be made to those entities.

I have NOT accepted or signed this release.

Going from approximately $8,000 in documented/estimated property loss involving widespread rodent contamination and damaged belongings to a final settlement offer of $143 is, in my view, an extraordinarily inadequate response to what occurred.

Consumers considering Coast to Coast Van Lines should read every document carefully, scrutinize estimates and additional charges, understand the valuation option being selected, obtain storage and delivery representations in writing, photograph belongings at delivery, and carefully read any release presented during the claims process.

Based on my experience from pickup through storage, delivery and the claims process, I cannot recommend Coast to Coast Van Lines.

Do not, I repeat, do not use this company to do you move! Each time you call, you will be given another delivery time. I was initially told 2-5 days. When I called after the 5 days, I was referred to documents stating 1-10 business days, which I was not informed about. Today is the 10th business day and the same unprofessional rep I spoke with, is now telling me I will have an update on Monday and it can take up to 21 business days. What in the actual hell! The absolute worst and so unprofessional.

I have never been treated with utmost disrespect then I was with Coast to Coast Van Lines Inc. from their "closer" who came to the pick up my stuff...in Colorado..his name was "Sergio" couldn't understand half of the things he said, he spoke so fast and I couldn't read most of what he wrote on all the paperwork. He was so rude called me a "liar" I'm a 65 year-old woman on my own. I was in business 30 years and I still was never treated with such disrespect as he did, I had certain items in my contract with my moving brokers... very much there. He told me "I don't read those contracts" I was never told it would be a problem to have clothes bags.. nice stackable bags with clothes and he flipped a wig charged me $100 for one box to put them all in and then upped my price to over 130 CF's than originally agreed upon. My move that was a $1900 job in the beginning cost me $3200. I had only a 5x10x8 storage unit. He knew he had me. He had my stuff and he knew it ! Do NOT use Coast to Coast Van Lines especially if you see a mean guy named Sergio.... a big guy...run fast.

I Was moving from Florida to North Carolina as a single women I was nervous after hearing about others moves, however this company was amazing and very professional, The movers came in explained the process to me and immediately got to work on loading my stuff. When they delivered my things they came in put the furniture where I wanted it to be and put the boxes in the rooms labeled.
